She loved her room and the staff. We feel so blessed that she was in their care during her final days. The entire staff treated her like a queen, made her feel wanted and loved! We searched high and low around the Treasure Valley for a facility my parents could call home. I can't say enough positive things about this facility. The staff is A-MA-ZING! Keri, the director, Jessica, the assistant director, Rochelle the nurse, O.G the chef, and Michelle the activities director; along with the rest of the care givers, have made this difficult transition a positive experience. The facility is beautiful! It looks like Joanna Gaines designed it herself. The food is soooo good. Even my little boys love to visit their grandparents! Children are welcomed and encouraged to visit. There's a 24 hr ice cream parlor. The memory care suites look exactly like assisted living, and every room is private! The staff treat us like family! Love, love, love this place. My parents are very happy there!

I will list all that happened and then give details. -Went 11 days without a shower- They said my mom refused-untrue. The staff must of lied to cover themselves. This happened several times, not just once. - Several times was not dressed in the morning until after 10! They blamed my mom for wanting to sleep in but again not true. The staff must of lied to cover themselves. - Over $400 stolen from her room. This was reported to Adult Protective Services and no action was taken from the Pointe and no communication from the Pointe to my mom. -We found a BEDBUG in her room. Their response- They asked us to come get my mom. I explained that my house was not accessible for her wheelchair. They still EVICTED HER! They have BEDBUGS IN THEIR FACILITY AND they handled it by evicting. I do not have bedbugs at my home and therefore the only conclusion is it came from their facility. From the time the BEDBUG was found, they waited 15 days to treat the room. - The administration admitted BEDBUGS were found on my mom's floor a few months ago. They obviously did not get them all. - We purchased a Purewick urine collection system for my mom to use at night so she would not need to get up a night. They would leave urine in it all day in the middle of her living room. Picture attached - We advocated and discussed all of these things multiple times with admin. Their response- They said they could not care for my mom, saying she needed two people in the shower (untrue) and asked us to find a place for her to move. We started looking, but many facilities don't have immediate openings and we were waiting for an opening when she was EVICTED. - The administration admitted that the corporation Grace management would not hire additional staff even though it was obvious it was needed. - The facility moved my mom to a level 6 level of care, claiming she needed two people to shower her, but did not provide two people. My mother refused to sign the paperwork raising her cost and requested time to go over it with me. They charged her anyway. Even though I called several times requesting a discussion. -My mother was not treated with dignity and respect. She was gaslighted several times blaming her when the problem was not hers to own. - During all of the time when a BEDBUG was found in my mom's room, no one from administration tried to talk to my mom. My mom is not suffering from dementia. Her mind works well, and they did not have the common respect to discuss any of their concerns directly with her. When the BEDBUG was found on November 25th until the Eviction on December 3rd, they kept my mom in isolation in the same room where the BEDBUG was found. No one from administration tried to talk to my mom directly. -The Pointe said it is their "policy" to have family come get the resident if BEDBUGS are found in the facility. This is a ridiculous policy and NO OTHER AGENCY HAS THIS AS THEIR POLICY. -My mom suffered mentally from this experience. She was at the Pointe for just over 3 months and was told she is not wanted and that she was the problem. She is still trying to recover. I can't stress enough the importance of staying away from The Pointe at Meridian. Grace Management is profiting off my mom and others without providing the care they deserve. They say they are assisted living, but do not want those that struggle with mobility and need assistance. The administration staff at The Pointe knows this and should not get the classification of assisted living if they will not provide the care. The stress of moving is very high in all people, but even more significant in the elderly population. My mother had to move 3 times in 4 months! The Pointe at Meridian should be held accountable! We have filed grievances with Adult Protective Services, the Ombudsman and with Disability rights. This has been a travesty for my mom and one she did not deserve.

We toured eight different facilities in Boise and the Garden Plaza of Valley View was by far their favorite. We actually didn't have an appointment and just stopped in to see if we might be able to talk to someone - Pam welcomed us with open arms and gave us a very thorough tour. They joined the waiting list, and moved in a few months later when a space opened up. At this point it has only been a few weeks since their move, but they are extremely happy and we've noticed a difference in their health already, especially with Mom. Her speech and walking have both improved, and we credit the Garden Plaza with that. She has 3 regular meals a day, social interaction, walks more, and she doesn't have the pressures that came with owning and caring for a full-sized home. My folks tell us every day how nice everyone is, from the staff to the residents. They wish they had made the move years ago and say everyone they talk to says the same thing. (Better late than never!) I liken it to living on a land-based cruise ship - all their meals and utilities are included, their unit is cleaned weekly (including towels and linens), there are tons of activities, there's transportation to get them around town, and everything is bundled under one price so they don't have to keep track of a ton of bills (or even this one - they're set up on auto-pay)! It's so nice that my teenage daughter wanted to move there after getting a tour. To say it's been life-changing is an understatement. My parents are thrilled, my siblings and I are thrilled, and a huge load has been lifted from all of us. Since I don't live in Boise, it's an enormous comfort to know they're happy and that people are checking in on them daily. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Pam Dillman and all the wonderful staff and residents at the Garden Plaza of Valley View! (Oh, and there's an AMAZING bakery in the lobby - try the blueberry lemon cake.)

I also took care of my sweet Aunt until her Dementia became debilitating. Both my father and my aunt went to two separate places in California for their Care. I was so unimpressed and had to actually move my Aunt to another place. Neither of the facilities had an RN on staff or PT. Garden Plaza of Valley View has BOTH! Every time I visit, they are doing something Special for their residents. They even built a Bakery so that the residents can visit and have a sweet treat. If you are considering special care for a loved one, take a tour with Melanie. She is personable and understands how important this transition is for everyone in the family. The Company is locally owned, I believe this makes a difference.

We were referred to Legacy Navigation and they found Copper Springs for us. I used to work in hospice, massaging patients and visited many assisted living facilities throughout the Treasure Valley and in Ontario, Oregon. Sad to say, there are some out there I would not care to see again. The facility would be dirty, worn or poorly circulated. Staff would walk around with boredom, frustration or anger on their faces. Residents looked bored and unhappy. My brother and his wife visited Copper Springs before mom and me. After their tour with Mike, the Owner & Director, they called me so excited and pleased and couldn't wait for mom to see the place, too. Mom loved it and couldn't believe it was for real - not for her. This is a woman who doesn't throw the word 'love' around very much and she kept telling us how much she loves it and wanted to live there. In the next few weeks, I worked with Mike and his staff to get the paperwork done, select mom's room and get her moved in. From the very first day, as we were moving in residents came and introduced themselves and invited mom to their tables for lunch and dinner. She's been living there for 3 weeks now and each time I ask her, she still says she loves it. We watch her participate in almost all the activities (her being an introvert - this was so surprising) and take the facility van to stores. When spring returns, she's looking forward to some of the fun local excursions. We are so happy we chose Copper Springs to be mom's new home. Every time I visit, she looks so happy and has so much to share - her sense of humor is back, too. I have not seen her this happy in many years. I'm getting to know the staff, too and get such a great vibe from them. Thanks to Mike, Brandon, TJ, Kaylee and Hannah!

Multiple areas have mold and management continues to ignore it although it clearly is affecting the quality of life for these poor residents. He under staffs his buildings and expects ONE person to care for a whole building for AL.
