So much fun! Great breweries, great behind the scene tours! Our tour guide, Mark was very knowledgeable and entertaining! The homemade pretzels were amazingly delicious!

Without a doubt, this is a "must do" when visiting Portsmouth. Not only do you get to sample excellent local beers and spirits, but you get an amusing history lesson in the interim. No matter your tastes, no matter your proximity to Portsmouth, if you are (even remotely) a beer fan, not going on this tour is a missed opportunity.

What a amazing experience. My wife and I went to Portland to visit Maine (we fell in love with it…read morea few years ago and wanted to check out Portland). She searched for things to do and found this tour and I am sure glad she did. We did the biking tour with Don and it was wonderful. Was able to taste some local mead, beer, and rum and see parts of Portland. He was extremely friendly, fun, and informative. I am not going to lie...I was a little bummed when my wife said she booked this tour instead of the earlier biking brewery tour (visit 3 local brewery's as opposed to our scheduled mead, beer, and rum tour). But it didn't matter, it was a amazing experience. In fact, our guide pointed out man local establishments on the tour that we tried the next day (cough..cough..Forage Market) and was amazed; it truly added to our Portland experience. And we have a tour for the next time we come. All in all...6 out of 5 stars for this organization. I wish I was able to post some pictures, but to be honest, I didn't think about it as I was immersed in the moment and enjoying every second of it. So when in Portland...book your tour, you won't be sorry.

Absolutely Fantastic! Our whole experience with Maine Beer tours was so great!…read more My husband and I went on the Friday Hoppy Hour tour, with stops at Rising Tide, Bunker, and Oxbow. Mark our guide was AWESOME. He was super friendly and welcoming, and did a great job with having the group talk and get to know each other in a natural way. All three breweries were great, and very different, which made the tour really interesting because you got to see some different things at each place. My personal favorite was Oxbow, but I loved all three stops. We were even able to try a beer brewed with lobsters! Overall a fantastic time, and I would highly recommend! We will book again next time we visit Portland!

The bus was clean and comfortable. 14 people got on the bus as strangers and bonded quickly over beers and brew tales. This really seemed like the kind of adventure you could do again and again. Can't wait to go back and share the Maine Beer Tour experience with others. The one downside was that, as someone who is perpetually early, the lack of signage to be sure I was in the right place made me a bit nervous that I was where I was suppose to be to catch the bus. We hung out in front of the Portland Lobster Co. For a few minutes before others arrived to reassure us we were in the right spot. Overall, this was a fantastic adventure for this beer lover. I learned new things about breweries I thought I knew everything about and was introduced to Bunker Brews and Ice Tea Mead. We'll be back.

Vijay is a knowledgable, enthusiastic guide whose love for the house and the long history of the residents made for an enjoyable and informative afternoon. He readily answered all the questions asked by the participants. His talk was not canned, but guided by the interests of those touring + his thorough knowledge of the many aspects related to such an historical site: house and grounds. We would highly recommend any tour led by Vijay Joyce. In fact, we are considering a day in Salem with Rekindled History in the near future! L. Gattozzi Gloucester, MA

This tour was so much better than that: the groups are small, which makes for a much more personal and intimate experience. We all learned a lot of amazing facts about Salem's history that we wouldn't have heard on any other tour of the city. Not to mention the beer was fabulous at each stop (another unique perk!), and Vijay gives recommendations for those who'd like to order the beers most like what would have been made in Colonial times. Can't recommend enough!

While visiting the Kennebunks, I decided to book my first ever foodie tour with Maine Day Ventures…read more This three hour tour not only covered delicious eats, but delivered in history. As our tour group visited each restaurant, we got a side of Kennebunkport history and the insider scoop as to where all of the locals dine. Marlene Brooks is an exceptional host and tour guide. She is a 13th generation Mainer and provided such detail about each local spot including the history behind our food. Her professionalism and Maine pride was evident throughout the tour. The ticket price for this experience was around $145. In my opinion, it is well worth the price because it is an opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Maine, and try different restaurants. Marlene took our group to some restaurants that my friend and I didn't know existed. Some advice would be to arrive on the tour hungry because you get to try so many delicious plates. By the end, my friend and I were full. Below please find some of the places we visited and the food we enjoyed: 1. Fiafia - mixed berry smoothie 2. Alisson's - lobster roll (you get a choice between three - the original, lemon garlic, or lobster chowder) 3. Federal Jack's - clam chowder with potatoes and a sample of beer 4. Mornings in Paris - whoopie pie and a choice of coffee or select tea 5. The Pilot House - fried haddock bites 6. Bar Harbor Cheesecake - cheesecake sample (can have more than one) This foodie tour encouraged me to try other food tours when traveling to new places. Marlene and Maine Day Ventures left a lasting impression and added great value to my Maine trip. The Kennebunks are filled with a rich history, excellent seafood, and the most friendly people. Thank you for a great experience!

Bearmoose was first. nice little industrial hole in the wall. good beer. Galactic Haze was the standout. Portico followed. an excellent kölsch and Belgian blonde. kitschy Lego tap handles. Phil made sure to connect all the people in the van at the start of our tour. By the end, we made new friends! We stopped at Bearmoose, Night Shift Brewing, and Aeronaut. Each experience was unique and perfectly balance. I loved that they highlighted small craft breweries. The inside of each was perfect for the vibe they wanted to achieve. Bearmoose was woody and casual. Night Shift was bright and active with a great outdoor space. Aeronaut was unique and fun with games and fun decor. The tour guide, Phil, made this experience as special as it was. He never missed an opportunity to share history or fill a glass. This was the perfect experience for a brewery tour in Boston.

It's just as nice to stop in on a less busy day too as the staff is very friendly and love chatting about the different styles of beer they have. Often the owners of the brewery are right at the bar. A quick chat or even a more in-depth discussion with them will quickly show you how passionate they are about their craft. My friend and I both brew our own beer and they're always asking us about our own recent brews, sharing ideas and giving feedback. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, so even on busy days it doesn't feel cramped. They have live music weekly (Saturdays), board games for the family (as well as board game nights) and plenty of delicious snacks for if you get hungry during your beer sampling. My absolute favorite brew from them is the Tragically Hopped double IPA (available seasonally in mid-summer) Black Bear stout (often available in the winter) and their self-named Great North IPA, which is a delicious West Coast-styled IPA that's just as good drinking on its own as it is with a sandwich (or burger and fries if you see it on tap at a local pub).
