Not gonna get into a real long review on yelp. I will in fact put a more detailed review on Google. To the point, Granite Ridge builds roughly over 140 homes a year. Sometimes bigger isn't better. They really don't personalize the process. they squeeze you for every penny. It's all about their margins. Don't get me wrong. I understand a company needs to make money. But this is like going to a buffet. No personality in the food is just OK. You are simply a number and a check off of their box. I talked to everyone of their subcontractors, which really are the ones that build the home. Granite Ridge just overseas the process. Not one of them had anything good to say about Granite Ridge.....But because they build so many homes, the subs are loyal to them because of bulk work. I will just leave it at that. If you're looking for a custom home when building a new home, I would certainly use a builder that builds between 10 and 30 homes a year. You truly get custom. Also, if you go to the Google reviews and look at some of their reviews, a lot of those reviews are by their own employees. While they were building my home, the person that was doing all of my drafting and planning for the home was fired right in the middle of solidifying my plans, etc. that made for a hot mess. Their turnover is very high. Because they just push and push push for more work. Go with a custom builder. The prices aren't gonna be any different. read more

The quality of the house is very bad. It's only been a few years and the house is already showing its true colors. They were very slow building and the Employees were just messing around. The only okay thing about it was the price but I still feel it was too expensive for the quality. Hope this review makes you change you're mind about building with them but if you still want to that's fine it's not my money. read more

complete TRASH company . they drilled a hole thru our drain pipe that goes to a bathroom we barely use . the drain water has been leaking down my wall and onto the studs in the floor for 6 years which now has caused enough damage for us to notice . The magic of this all is it's no longer under warranty because it's past 2 years . We called this company and asked for some kind of payment or for them to replace all of the mold and dry wall we had to take out and , welp you guessed it not their problem . Driveway is cracked happened a day after I moved in they never fixed it under warranty just filled with caulk which is not correct and now is worst. Never sent inspector for 1 year touch ups just had me tell them what was wrong then i had to get with sub contractors to fix them and non of the repairs held up. The floor wasn't put in correctly and they tried to fix it but still not right and the installer will not come fix it. Paid to have generator prep done had a installer come look at it they put the wrong gas meter in and didn't wire in the switch for the generator. toilet in master bathroom rubs against the wall. read more

If your building with this company you better have a lot of patients cause your gonna need em , it'll take at least a year and a half to 2 years to complete your home , my daughter has been watching her house go up very slowly while others that are started after hers get pushed to get completed well before hers , even this she's paying a full mortgage on a house that isn't even completed yet , so they can close on a house asap even tho my daughter completely closed on hers pushing 9 months ago , mine took 2 years as well with excuse after excuse as to why it's taking so long and not being worked on , once the house was completed finally it was a great built home , so I say again be patient or look elsewhere read more

We selected Granite RIdge to build our home because of their reputation. The floorplan design process, interior and exterior design development were all completed as expected and solidified our belief we had selected the right builder. However the build process, outside contractors and quality were disappointing. Many issues occurred during the build with the contractor being fired, the plumbing company quit and our list of repairs were never resolved. read more

We had a small hiccup in the beginning, but Alicia and the team at Granite Ridge Builders worked with me to help figure things out. GRB built my family a quality home and We are very satisfied. We were updated almost daily on how things were going. And any question we had, was answered quickly. We would recommend these guys to anyone interested in building a home! This house was built by Granite Ridge. It was roofed in October 2015. They told us the shingles would flatten out once the sun warmed the roof the following summer. As you can see by the picture that didn't happen and the roof looks terrible. They refuse to fix it. Needless to say I can not recommend them. read more

If I could select zero stars I would. Run as fast as you can. They do not give a free estimate but do not tell you that and try to hide a $500 "digging" fee on your property for no purpose. When you tell them you want an estimate without digging they don't tell you they still need a $500 fee until they are on site. They will mislead you on this $500 fee until you call them on it. If they would be up front that this is an estimate fee then I would have no problem but they lie. Cannot be trusted to tell the truth. read more

We asked a few homeowners their thoughts about Granite. The response was they were too big. We now know what that means, slow and once tasks are completed they do not want to follow up. Early we expressed concerns about water pooling around the foundation especially that under the deck. We even brought it to the president and those in charge of marketing and customers service and still no response. Issues we brought to our Project Manager pointed us to Indiana Builders Standards and when we had reversed the rolls again no response. We intentionally built on a large hill where water would run down it and not towards the house. read more

I am a two time consumer of Granite Ridge. I have built two houses with them. The first experience was really good that is why I came back. The 2nd time was not so good. It all started when during the building process my basement flooded. They dried it out but my basement always had mud on the floor that I could never get off. I moved in Oct. 1st. Shortly after I moved in I notice my sump was running constantly (ever 30 seconds). I several plumbers out to finish my bathroom in my basement and all 5 said this sump running is not normal. There should not be this much water. I called GR and they sent a person out who looked at it and said it was normal. I mentioned the plumbers and his response was how many houses have these plumbers built? I said it doesn't matter because I think they have seen enough sump pits to know if there is too much water coming down. After that I offered to call the plumbers and the GR rep. said that was not necessary. He left and said he would have the yard and drainage specialist look at it. After he left I got a an electric bill that was $100 more for the month a few days later. I decided to try to fix the problem myself. I went outside and notice standing water next to my house. When I look under my deck I notice the sump pipe was missing the carry away pipe. It was just recycling water. I then called GR again and the same guy came out. he said I will have to remove the deck myself for them to get in and fix since I put the deck up myself. (It was removing one board!). Rather than argue with stupidity I personally removed the board. They then wanted to charge me to fix the pipe. I finally just ended up getting PVC and fixing myself. My electric bill went down $80 a month after the fix. This is where it starts. It took them 10 months to get my yard in and they insisted that planting in clay is ok and no top soil needs to be brought in. I have a turf management specialist in and he said you can plant in clay but you will forever battle a dry yard. He said a little top soil goes a long way. I called GR to see if they could bring some in. They said they can't that is extra. Rather than argue I decided to just pay for the soil myself. GR needed to come out to do the final grade so I called them up and asked when they were coming so I could get the dirt dumped the day before and they grade it. To my amazement they said that would be extra money. $160 extra to spread the dirt! I managed to get a hold of their VP of construction and he said let me talk with the sub I might be able to get it down. I mentioned to him that I just spent nearly a half million with GR in the last 7 years can't GR just do this and not nickle and dime me? He said they could not do this for everyone or they would lose money. Really $180 off revenue of over $400,000? Whatever. I started down another pat and to my astonishment the VP called me back after 4 hours of negotiating and said GR could pay half $80. At that point it was the point not the money. Why were they nickling and diming me? It was insulting. I rejected the $80 offering and said I will just take care of it. Ironically the day I decided to order my dirt a different builder broke ground next to my house. I went over and asked if I could have some of that top soil. This builder who had zero vested interest in me said no problem. They brought the dirt over and spread it out and graded my yard! How crazy is that, GR whom I spent over $400,000 and was a repeat customer gave me the run around and then wanted $80 to spread dirt I should not even be paying for. Another builder who has no vested interest in me gave me dirt and then spread it out for free! I have many other problems with my house and every time I call GR they make up some excuse or say "that's normal". I have gutters that don't work, my porch concrete was patch and the patch is a different color and looks terrible. I have crack in my drywall and ceilings that they will only come out once to fix even though they claim to give a one year warranty. Bottom line Granite Ridge (GR) has lost their way. They don't care about you after they complete construction. They are always looking for excuses to not do the right thing. I also found out my rounded corners they charged me for $50 a corner does not cost them anything extra to do. I have some drywall guys do my basement and they did rounded corners for free. They said it was not any harder or more expensive to do. I used to promote GR but after this I would say stay away. They will charge you for everything and they will not fix anything that breaks. I felt like I was always battling just to get them to fix their problems. It shouldn't be this way. I would stay away for Granite Ridge and go with another builder. Buyer beware. read more
