Waited for the new renovation to go eat breakfast.... What a disappointment. I had the chicken fried steak, not hand breaded , came right outa a bag from the freezer , I guarantee it. Sausage gravy..... not so much , just white gravy , side of wheat toast that was dry and cold so I couldn't butter it with the cold butter they supplied. Wife had the Monte Cristo sandwich. The egg was still a little raw on the bread ... she ate the meat off of it Won't be going back and telling everyone to beware read more

We can't say enough great things about Granite Point! We had our wedding there and it could not have turned out better! Not only is the location absolutely gorgeous but it was also so convenient that our out-of-town guests could rent out cabins or bring their RVs. The team at the resort was so incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process and the entire weekend too. We're forever grateful for all of their help in making our day absolutely perfect. Came from California and have to say this place was beautiful! Any cottage you select, has a beautiful view and walking distance to a clean beautiful beach. Not overly crowded, everyone was pleasant, great equipment to rent, and just a beautiful place to swim or hangout on an inner tube. The staff was helpful, but the adults will have answers to your questions. Suggestions: -No TV, so bring some board games, hangout with the family, stay off the phones -Get a menu going for your meals, but they do have a cafe and Chewelah is not far. Safeway and a local grocery/hardware/fishing store are near and you can preorder at Safeway. -Most people sit in chairs on the beach, so better to buy a chair than beach towels. -Accommodations are simple, don't go and act like you are a Hollywood Star! At loon lake you are not! - Enjoy the peace and tranquility, learn to fish! Last but not least, thank you for reminding my family there is life outside of California and damn is it beautiful! We're just finishing an absolutely beautiful stay at a lake cabin. We had such a great time swimming and enjoying the sandy beach. The food at the store was delicious. It was a little bit of a wait with two small kids, but when we figured out we could let them play outside on the lawn while we waited, it was perfect. Everyone we talked to, who worked here, was extremely nice and made our visit an excellent one. read more

Just had breakfast at the resort. Delicious. I had the San Diego breakfast burrito and my wife had the Lil Fisherman's breakfast. Both were nicely prepared and good portions. In fact the burrito was enough for two but I WAS hungry. At least my wife had a bite or two so I'm not a total glutton. Prices were very reasonable and the coffee was fresh and strong, just the way I like it. Waitstaff was attentive, helpful and very friendly. The views are stunning, the staff is friendly, and we will definitely be coming back! BUT I will say this.... for what we paid for a weeks stay in their most basic cabin, I'm unimpressed. It seems little thought was put into making them a comfortable stay. Main issue, there is NO AC. No fans, nothing. Only reason we survived the july heat was because my father in law provided a box fan that we moved from room to room as needed. Paying so much to stay somewhere that seems to specialize in summer stays and activities, we were all SHOCKED to find there was no air in the cabin whatsoever. Especially since it's been 100+ degrees this week. We tried multiple local stores, up to a half hour away, and every one was sold out of any kind of AC units. So we suffered... If you don't mind sleeping when it's hot, this place is great! Hands down would recommend. But if you have trouble sleeping when you're hot, I wouldn't stay in these cabins. OR be prepared to spend a few hundred on a decent standing AC and bring it with you. Also, our cabin was some sort of duplex, which I thought was odd. Our neighbors stayed up late and that's hard for families like us with little ones. Would've appreciated a cabin with more privacy and quiet, like the other cabins on the property. Rentals are a bit expensive but the food and drinks seemed reasonable. Very tasty breakfast! I wish I could give this 3.5 stars but that's not an option, so I'm rounding up just because we will come back. Just please be aware of the fine details when booking a cabin here! Also, check out is 10am! A bit early if ya ask me. Even hotels give you til 11. Hard to pack up and clean up between breakfast and checkout when you've got kiddos read more

We have stayed here with a friend that has a lot and trailer onsite. Have stayed in two locations. Garden camping spot has water only and one of the 10 power/water sites, we were in #10. Only a few of these have sewer as well. In these you are packed in like sardines. Our awning was 1 foot from the trailer next to us. The dust is terrible. Golf carts and cars constantly going by. It would be nice if they upgrade the hookup sites with sewer in all and add power to the garden sites. Roads through out need repaved or paved period. This would help with the dust. At the least oil the roads. It is a great location for the lake but a few improvements would go a long way to make it much better. read more

Granite Point resort is a friendly resort on the stunning Loon Lake, just north of Spokane, WA. The cottages are great and offer variety of experiences, from a nostalgic 1950s vibe for the history buff to a recently built cabin with the most modern decor. All the cabins are extremely clean and well kept! The beach is beautiful and is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun, then take a swim in the crystal clear lake. My favorite part was relaxing on our cottage balcony with a cup of coffee and watching the sun rise over the lake. My family loves this place. We've gotten season passes for 3 yrs now and it's well worth it. It's never truly crowded, it's nice n clean out at the beach, the water is clean and it's just an overall fun place. My wife had a hard time adjusting to "lake life" after moving up here - too much seaweed, debris in the water, and oily feel, etc. But Loon lake is the one lake she's most comfortable with. And with Granite Point's beach, it's everything she can ask for. The staff is friendly and while not perfect, feels very family run and like they enjoy hiring some local youth, which I consider a great feel. Their food is fine and their burgers are really really really flavorful! For the price, I dare anyone to really complain. It's not expensive for a day visit so it's all just a win-win situation when you visit this place. Enjoy!!! read more

WEDDING VENUE REVIEW: My husband and I had our wedding at Granite Point, and it was the best decision we ever made! Their staff truly went above and beyond to make our special day a day come true. I worked very closely with Nicole for months to get everything organized and lined up, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was always very friendly, flexible, knowledgeable, helpful, and replied quickly. When crunch time came, she also kept me calm and offered peace of mind...which is priceless as a bride! I worked with many vendors during the process, but Nicole was my favorite. You can tell how much she truly cares about the lake and making our day great since it is such a special place to us, too! My family has had a cabin on the lake for decades, so Loon Lake has always held a very special place in our hearts. Granite Point made it possible to have our wedding there, even allowing me to make my grand entrance by coming in on my great grandfather's old fishing boat. All our guests also had access to the beach all day ok our wedding day, which was awesome! We had the ceremony on the beach, right by the lake, and the reception up by the outdoor basketball court. Both locations worked out perfectly for us. The only downside was that it rained for the duration of the ceremony, which Granite Point had no control over. It was not supposed to rain that day, but I can't imagine any other staff being more helpful than Granite Point was when the rain started coming down. The staff was running around like crazy to set up tents and umbrellas for us and keep the majority of our guests out of the rain. Some guests of the resort that weren't with the wedding even lent the wedding party their umbrellas! It was truly all hands on deck and worked out totally fine because of the amazing people there. It was beautiful how helpful everyone was. Luckily, the sun came out right after the ceremony, and we were able to have our reception near the outdoor basketball court, as planned. We had a DJ and dance floor on the court itself and then scattered the dining tables amongst the trees. It was beautiful and exactly as we envisioned. The resort had a scavenger hunt available for the kids, and we were even able to have a campfire for guests who wanted to roast marshmallows. I also can't forget to mention how insanely helpful the crew was with setting up and taking down decorations! They did an amazing job making it all look gorgeous. We were so thankful for all of their help! It was also really nice that some of our guests were able to stay right on the resort, especially since so many people travelled all the way from California for the wedding. The cabins were so cute and homey. All of our guests who stayed there loved it, some of them half-joking that they were moving in and never going home. If any of our family or friends ever needs a place to stay up in Loon Lake again, we know exactly where we will be recommending. I cannot thank Granite Point enough for all of their support and generosity throughout the whole wedding process! They were truly amazing, and I wouldn't have wanted our wedding to take place anywhere else! We were able to personalize our wedding so much, and it truly felt so fitting and uniquely ours. This park was AWESOME!! The beach was amazingly beautiful, clean and fun! There is a small store/bar where you can buy beer and beach/fishing things. This place is OLD, but had a nostalgic feel to it. I am sure back in the day it was a bustling park. It cost us about $14 to get in and use the amenites, but if you plan to stay all day, it is totally worth it. They do have rv spaces available, BUT....I think most people live there if you know what I mean! The beach was enormous and had docks everywhere for watercraft, fishing, and a large dock with a diving board! The water was crystal clear and fairly warm. I would almost compare it to the sand and clearness of Lake Tahoe. Beautiful is all I can say! The bathrooms on the other hand....not beautiful! They are old, but usable. This is a great day trip if you are in the area of Deer Park or surrounding cities. read more

The beach and the resort itself was really nice. I will say however, I was not impressed with the new owner and some of the staff. My son got an ear infection towards the end of our stay. Subsequently we had to check out of our cabin 2 days early. I figured it was unreasonable to ask for a refund for those nights but I did ask for a swimming voucher for the 2 days we missed out on. I didnt see how this would cost the resort any money and we had technically paid for two days of beach access that we were unable to use. The response I got from the owner was, "I didn't give them enough notice." I found this to be extremely unaccommodating and just bad business. Especially given the circumstances as to why we had to leave early. Needless to say I won't be back. Additionally I would not recommend this resort to anyone. read more

Our family stayed in one of the cabins and it was fantastic! The cabin was very clean and just steps away from the beach. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and, even the picky eaters in our bunch, thought it was great. The staff is super friendly and the resort is kept very clean. The customer service at this Resort was absolutely terrible. We had a graduation party on the front lawn area and we knew we'd likely have to pay for some additional guests, but when they called to review and receive payment they treated us like us like a debt collection company and that we were behind months on payment. This was on the day we had checked out. Instead of discussing the headcount and charges they started out by just threatening to charge our credit card. They even asked the question "Can you not afford the $20?" Instead of being able to discuss charges they chose to insult us, be aggressive, and incredibly disrespectful. This treatment was uncalled for and unprofessional to say the least. We will be telling our friends and family to avoid this establishment as well. read more

Nothing special and not worth the costs, it's a lot dirtier/run down than I remembered growing up.

For $6 / person you get a nice clean beach front and reduction in sketchy people. Could potentially be expensive but being that I used to work at an resort I'm glad they charge as I'd prefer to pay them than they close up shop and sell like a lot of other resorts that used to be in the area. People mentioned it's old school-- and some complained, I thought it was neat. It's like you decided to go to a beach and re-live life during the Pleasantville days. I mean, you take any photo in black and white and you have an antique. The cabins/ RV sites seem a bit steep but you get access to the waterfront which is a huge amount of feet. The water was a great temperature (I realized I'm a complete novice at swimming so was only in a few minutes but it seemed clean and there was no litter). Also has a mini diving board that was surrounded by kids like flies. Great for families. Also, since they pay you tend to get some better clientele. If you know what I mean. ;) Goodies for sale: pops, ice cream, candy bars, chips, corn dogs, and some other things in case you starve since you're basically in the middle of nowhere. ~10 min from Deer Park read more

I can't say enough positive things about Granite Point. There's a great beach,and a u shaped dock with diving board, It's just like when you were a kid. The cabins are clean and well equiped. There's a playground for kids, a classic main office with snack bar and gorgeous view of the lake. The grounds are well kept. . New management came in a few years ago and make significant improvements each year. I wish I could stay 3 weeks each year. read more

Really like this resort, first time here. The kids all enjoyed themselves to. Sad there was a fire ban so didn't get to experience the bon Fire. The managers cottage is VERY nice. A few dishes were unclean but not too bad. The swimming area was nice. The store and employees were awesome. Rentals were easy. I love the fact that they have a clean up crew that comes through daily to pick up after the inconsiderate people who leave trash on the beach. Easy walking paths. The only thing was that I had to pay for another entire night evasive we didn't want to check out by 11. But overall, we will be back. read more

Granite Point can be a nice place to visit for the day. They keep the resort reasonably clean and keep up the beach also. For the price you pay, bathrooms should have been updated long ago. Prices for using can become quite steep and the owners will try their best to nickel and dime you during your stay. They come across as friendly as long as you keep paying. My friend's dad was charged just to charge up his boat battery even though he was staying there. I've heard similar stories from others. There genuine friendly service and then there is the service you get at Granite Point- money grubbing. read more

My family and I have been to Granite Point several times over the years and have never experienced the rude and inconsiderate customer service by the owners/management as we did on our last visit. The gentleman at the front desk did not inform us of the extra costs to use the beach and docks located near the boat launch when we were paying to launch our boat and have a wonderful day at the lake. Instead he decides to berate us later on in the day for docking our boat for no more 45 minutes and sticking our feet in the water! Granite Point could be a wonderful place to visit for just the day or even a week or more, it has a wonderful beach and park area, that is maintained quite well. However the trip is not worth it when the management does not treat their customers with respect and courtesy. In the future I will be taking my money else where and have it be appreciated. Side note to the management team: I would suggest revamping your prices and possibly putting together a day use package for a family that includes sticking your feet in the water and allowing some babies to cool down on a hot day! read more

The cabins are clean, the beach is spotless, the fishing is good, and the managment is friendly and helpful. We live in Seattle now, but grew up in Spokane. Granite Point is still my favorite summer vacation. Every other year we choose a one or two week stay in a cabin at GP. We love how the place hasn't changed too much over the years. It is so easy to feel unplugged and the days seem nice and long once we get settled into our cabin. read more

Loon Lake is a gorgeous lake, albeit on the small size. Definitely large enough for decent watersports and fishing.

We have leased a travel trailer spot at the resort for the last 6 seasons and it has been great to see all of the improvements over the last 2 years. This is a classic Americana resort where you can have a great day at a super clean and fun resort for the day or for the summer. Our extended family comes every year for a week and rents a few of the simple but functional cabins and we enjoy the spring fed clean water, the little store at the resort and the outstanding Kokanee and bass fishing. We feel it is one of the best kept secrets around the Spokane area. read more

This is the second time we have been there and while the beach is wonderful, we just paid to launch our boat this time. and the gentleman that was running the store that day the 29th of July was very rude and generally mean. We did dock our boat for a bit and ate our lunch and before we were leaving my husband and I walked to the restroom, my son took our twin 13 month old grandsons to the edge of the water to let them stretch a bit until we got back and the man came down yelling at him because we had not paid for the use of the beach we were not using the table or did they have any toys he was simply letting the babies stretch.
