Just wanted to give a shout out to the good service I receive here regularly, and especially a few…read morenights ago, and specifically this time to Emily. I live in Bettendorf, but am in Iowa City frequently as my wife and I have 3 daughters living there. Two daughters live very close to this hardware store and I was string-trimming at one of their houses, and I flung a rock into my car's driver side window and it shattered. I needed to drive the home on I80 but wanted some clear plastic on the window if possible. Emily gave me some used plastic from some inventory they had unloaded, and I bought some duct tape. As I went to the car I realized I would need scissors and told her I might be back if I can't get hold of the other daughter and her husband who live close. Daughter didn't answer so as I was about to call a different daughter and her husband Emily appeared and volunteered to help. She was very patient and had some great ideas like where we applied the tape to keep it off the paint. It was a loud ride home but I made it safely and Emily's great work held! This morning I got the window replaced and will not need to borrow or rent a car to drive to Chicago for a ballgame tomorrow. I probably could have made it home fine with no plastic, but it was nice to have, and I wasn't sure how long until I could get the window replaced nor how soon it was supposed to rain. I always say the world needs more kindness, and thank you to Emily for her great customer service from a business perspective, and for what I consider just simple kindness - another KO (Kindness Opportunity) fulfilled. Paid in full upfront. 3 weeks later it arrived. Looks great. However, I was delivered an 11x16 shed. Contacted the business and (in a polite tone) explained the discrepancy. The business claimed the shed dimensions are measured from the eve of the roof. Explained that before purchasing the shed I had been shown another 12x16 shed on the lot and had measured it to verify that it was in fact 12x16. The business, rather than be of any assistance, invited me out to measure any shed I want to (sarcastically inferring that I was a liar). If this is how you treat client's that have paid in full, this is the last business you will receive from me.

Their treasures are well-organized, the staff is knowledgeable and the prices are fair. It is also fun to see the creations they have made while reusing old architectural items. I bought some cool wax-made newspaper candlestick starters for lighting fires that I had never seen anything like before. What a great furniture store in Amana!

A lot of the furniture is in pretty good shape and can be fixed up with some new upholstering, sanding, or painting. They also have a significant selection of appliances, lighting, and other odds and ends (like sinks and countertops) that could be a good fit if you're looking for something for a small space. I was thrilled when I looked at the prices on some of the desk/dresser/drawer items in particular. I came looking for a filing cabinet, and found one for just $5! Doesn't get much better than that.

Professional and prompt, a two man team came up in a truck, got it and were gone. In the blink of an eye! They take appliances, cabinetry, doors, hardware, flooring, furniture, art, mirrors, lighting, vents, exercise equipment, garden tools, bricks, pavers, fencing, lawn equipment, roofing, windows, tile, power tools, lumbar and more.
