I have lived in Edgewater for 6 years and I frequent this bakery often and every time the staff is incredible and the food is great. Today I came and got served a croissant sandwich with ONE slice of cheese and ONE slice of cheese. I complained to who I thought was the manager and hopefully not the owner because instead of just offering something else he just looked at me and shacked is head and said "No, that's it"... so then I asked for a refund and he gave it to me. I come to Grannier for the food, vibe and service but to have the MANAGER BE THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF ACCOMMODATING is so disappointing. Nice, clean and bright modern bakery cafe! Serves breakfast, sandwiches and good assortment of pastries! Like that it's quiet so you can enjoy some quiet time with your coffee and/or food! We only ordered cold and hot lattes! Note: They only have Sugar Free syrups if you want any kind of flavored drinks! Only mint is not sugar free. They charge $1.00 if you want to substitute soy or almond milk. More than most places would charge! Service: Maybe it was their off day but the service was just ok! The guy who took our order, you would think he would've mentioned that the flavor syrup I chose was sugar free! Summary: Disappointed with my hot Hazelnut Latte. The sugar free syrup left a terrible taste and ruin the taste of my latte. Threw out 2 of the 3 drinks before taking pictures! I was excited to try this place as it's just across the street from where I live, and I love croissants! I was pretty disappointed my first visit. I ordered a ham and cheese on croissant. Which took about 5 minutes so I assumed, like other places, they were warming it up. Upon receiving it Cheese was still cold and the croissant itself was dry and hard. Fresh, perfectly baked, flaky and perfect ratio of filler and dough.The ham and cheese and spinach definitely my favorites. The assistant manager Guastavo here is extremely rude and lacks basic people and customer management skills. He gave our food order to the wrong table next to us, and when we tried to explain to tell him it was ours and that table ordered after us, he said there are many orders, and walked away. The table he gave the wrong food to then brought it back to him and said it wasn't theirs. He then proceeded to bring the same plate to us, and clearly the other table had already picked at it. We told him we wanted another one, and he gave us an attitude, took it behind the counter and slammed it into the dirty dish pile. You would think an assistant manager would have better customer service. The other employees ended up apologizing on his behalf, which was very nice of them. I would promote one of them and demote Gustavo. read more

We came here to pick up croissants for breakfast. They cost between $2-3 and it was buy 3 get one free. I was really pleased honestly for the price the croissants were really good! They also had other French pastries that looked amazing for dessert. The baguette was great as well. read more

Went there and my experience was great! I tried their iced coffee and it was good. I ordered their French croissant, apricot croissant, and mango cake slide. The mango cake slide tasted nothing like mango, it was more like vanilla and I don't think it was fresh but it's ok. It is nice to see that I can bring my dog next time to seat outside. The food was okay- we had eggs and toast. I would like to review the palmier pastry. We ordered one of the two that were left and paid for it. We heard the hotshot behind us claiming them both (because he's more important? Latino? Entitled?) And sure enough, when they came out with our coffees, they said the pastry we ordered was gone. And since we HEARD hotshot claiming them we knew what was going on, despite the mentira that a call in order got them before us. I love croissants and was in my mood to eat one when i decided to go to this place which is down the block from where I'm staying in Miami. The menu had various egg/breakfast items on it including croissant breakfast sandwiches. I am lactose intolerant and do not eat cheese. I politely asked for "2 EGGS AND AVOCADO ON A CROISSANT." The person who worked there (who may have been on drugs) became extremely puzzled confused and flustered when i made my order. He asked me again what it was i wanted - to which i patiently repeated myself slowly and clearly "2 eggs and avocado on a croissant" to which he replied with nothing but the dirtiest most insulting look i have ever received by an employee at a restaurant or any human in general. He literally looked at me like I had 5 heads for asking for 2 eggs and avocado on a croissant... To which i responded with not saying anything but immediately turning around and walking out of their restaurant never to return as long as i exist on planet earth. Their croissants were also the size of English muffins - tiny. I know Miami isn't known for having the most friendly people but this was a new level of a nonverbal insult - this person was legitimately RUDE and has no business working in any form of customer service. I was expecting two buttery and toasted ham croissants and instead I got two cold and plain straight out of the fridge whole grain croissant bread with barely two slices of ham, even though I call twice to specify that I wanted no more ham instead of the cheese, I also told the girl on the phone that if the chips were potato chips I would get them on the side, witch she said yes, but never got them on the bag. I had to wait over an hour! For two cold croissants that I had to unfortunately throw away. I could give more stars if they were only about the pastries and the bread. However, customer service is what gets this place only 2 stars. There is an employee who has such a bad attitude, not only the way he approaches the customer but his body language. I did not say anything the first time, since I thought maybe he is having a bad day. The second time I ignored it... but the third time, I could not help but express to him "you need to have better customer service skills and less attitude" to which he went ahead and replied "me? attitude?.... eyes rolling... and body language showing defiant behavior. I could not help not to fully analyze him (I am a therapist, I can read people really well, not only their verbal language but sometimes your body language speaks more than words)... he decided to include his co-worker in the conversation when I was only addressing him, the co-worker then decided to part take... rolling eyes as well... then she said "who cares"... thinking I did not hear her.... Bad news to have bad employees that will just make the business not necessarily thrive... Then when I asked to speak to his supervisor he started saying... "I don't have an attitude, I just don't speak English very well..." . Well, I said: Honey... I speak Spanish too... trust me on this free professional feedback... it is not about a language barrier... it is about attitude and you have a bad one... maybe you hate your job... but the customer does not have to pay for it. Leave the sassiness at home, customer service does not have room for that. Sad to say I will not be coming back to this place, not that they will care anyway, I have read other reviews complaining about the same... so clearly it is not an area of growth or improvement for them since it keeps happening. read more

I have been avoiding to write this review for years cause I normally don't like to hurt any local business but the experience at Granier has been consistency terrible for years since it used be called La Provence. We live in the Edgewater neighborhood and have been clients of this Bakery/Cafe for years. Food is good but when you pay a premium for just good food you expect a good experience and the service in this place is TERRIBLE. Starting with the Manager that has no sense of customer service and following most of his emplooyees that follow his leadership and add no personality or quality to the already poor service provided in this place. It's also a shame than even though part of the staff is from the LGBT communIty when me and my husband go there we are treated like crap even though we are part of the same community. There is NOT a Hi, NOT a THANK YOU, NOT a Welcome to Granier, NOT a Come again soon! Shame on us than even though we know we are going to receive a terrible service we still go every so often to just buy bread since stopped easting here a while ago due to poor service. We like the food but would love to see a different staff in this place. We have been to Graniers around the world and this is by far the worst ever and shame that is in our neighborhood. I wish the owner would reach out to me to give him a lot more details and ideas how to get more customers from the neighborhood in this place. Used to be so good when it was La Provence. Gone are the whole desserts, all the eclairs, napoleons, fruit tarts and other delicious desserts they had before. Granier maybe small, but the place is great. The staff is nice. Especially, the Manager Gustavo. He take his job very serious and care about cleanliness of the property. He indeed wear many hats. Came in for breakfast today. My partner and I shared the Granier special eggs and Eggs Benedict with Salmon. The eggs on the Granier special eggs were so creamy and the bread was super soft. Their chai lattes are perfectly spiced and they have dairy-alternatives (soy milk and almond milk). Highly recommend especially after a night of partying on Ocean Drive. read more
