Having just moved to the area I was excited to find my regular local cafe. Walking past this place looks warm, inviting and has a plethora of delicious looking pastries in the window. This is where my good experience ends. I ordered one spanish ham, brie and tomato sandwich, one small flat white.
The food was served first, and after finishing my meal I went to the counter to enquire about my coffee. I spoke with the employee who was behind the counter and she said she wasn't sure if it was ordered, at this point the person who served me stepped in and asserted I did not pay for this. I handed her a £20 bill, if she forgot to place this order for me, it is her fault. If she did not hear me, it is her fault. If she didn't give me the correct change, it is her fault. Not the customer. And I absolutely disagree with the notion 'The customer is always right' because that is not true. But in this case it is. This is a perfect example of ignorance in the service industry. I tried reasoning with them however it escalated into the staff memebers clearly getting riled up about it.
At the end of the day, it is a £2 coffee, and I said forget about it. Extremely poor service. I will never return here again. read more
