Went here yesterday and it was great as usual but this time there wasn't no water in any of the upper parts of the dog park. This is a beautiful park and used to be our favorite until the dog walkers took over. I would regularly see dog walkers with way too many dogs. I counted one walker with TWENTY THREE dogs. You can't tell me that they're in control of those dogs, let alone picking up their poops. We had multiple incidents where multiple dogs descended on my pups. One of my dogs loves to play with dogs, she happily plays with huge dogs, but having 8 huge dogs jump on her is too much. The last time it happened she was screaming as a pack of dogs chased her. She leapt into my arms (something she never does) and one of the dogs kept trying to get her, jumping and biting at her and me. The dog walker hit the dog on the head with a Chuckit to try to get him to stop. My other dog was so terrified that he ran away, up the hill to the gate. The dog walker did not apologize and instead blamed me for holding my terrified dog. Another day a dog walker was nowhere to be seen when one of his dogs attacked another woman's dog. I waited and when the dog walker finally came down the stairs to join all of his dogs I told him what happened and suggested he leash the dog. He agreed and acted like he was going to catch the dog. But as soon as he thought I looked away, he turned around and started doing something else. I waited to see if he would get back to catching the dog but instead he started browsing on his phone. When I asked him again if he was going to leash the dog he was super rude. This guy had 19 dogs! I regularly see dog walkers looking at their phones and ignoring their dogs. It's just ridiculous. If one of those dogs were mine I'd be mad. It's basically setting those dogs up for failure and they will be blamed (not the dog walker, of course). It's such a shame because this is a gorgeous park and we enjoyed it so much. The volunteers do a wonderful job maintaining it. One of my dogs does agility and we had a lot of fun practicing on the equipment. But I've decided it's more important that my dogs and I are safe and we will not be going anymore. read more

I have a husky and I bring her here all the time, came here today during the daylight hours. Was here for about 30m came back and realized my car got stolen. So many people were there and the parking lot was full o guess no one saw anybody that looked suspicious. Also who does these things at a dog park?! This park was recommended by a friend in the area. After reading several reviews we decided to try it on a Sunday afternoon, when we knew there wouldn't be any doggy day care groups. Our dogs are learning socialization, so we weren't comfortable letting them off leash yet, but we may try after a few visits. We visited on a warm sunny day, so it was fairly crowded, but the park is large enough you can go to another area if it gets too crowded. There were plenty of walking trails, beautiful views and the agility course was really fun for our bully dog. It helped build up her confidence. Having a bully breed is sometimes difficult, as people have preconceived notions about their temperament, but we didn't find that the case here. She was sniffing out the golden doodles and labs and everyone seemed really chill about it (owners and dogs alike). There were several small dogs there but they seemed to uninterested in our dogs. The area is very nicely maintained and fenced, it felt really safe. As far as the broken into cars, we didn't see any issues while we were there. Don't leave valuables in your car, don't leave anything in sight. Park near the other cars. We can't wait to return with our pups! read more

This is my absolute favorite off-leash dog park. It's definitely a great place to bring your dog since it's so enormous and very well maintained! There are always a lot of dogs every time I come here, it's like this place is almost never empty. Which is great for people who want to socialize their dogs. The park has a lot of sections so you can find an area that fits best for your dog. This park has all the fundamental aspects that all dog parks should have. There are water features, agility equipment, waste pick-up stations, and a whole lot more. My dogs favorite part is the pond. It's not too deep and it's very safe for her to swim in. You know you love your dog so much that the first thing you do after you arrive at the Seattle Airport is drive to a nearby dog park (and I am not ashamed to admit this). My husband and I came by this dog park last Tuesday morning around 11:15 am and were surprised to see a handful of people with their cute pups. This dog park is one of the largest parks that I have ever been to. After you park in the parking lot, you can walk down to the dog park. This dog park is an open space so there is no particular large or small dog part of the park. There is a gated trail that goes around the park though if you want to let your dog(s) run around. For the most part, the dog park is not shaded (only bits and pieces are). What I love best of this park is the agility course set up with a few jumps, ramps and tires for dogs to run through. Our little girl dog wasn't really interested, but it was fun to get her to try some of them. If you go and the dog park is empty, you and your little friends can still walk around the park, as it would be great exercise. If only this dog park existed where I live, I would come by here every single week with my dogs. Dogs in this part of Washington, you are just too lucky! read more

This dog park is massive. I've a 60lb Aussie Shepherd, he's still a puppy at this point (almost 2 years old). Aussies are working dogs that need wide open spaces to run and run and run and herd. My Aussie loved this park, wide open spaces..and then some. We didn't even explore the entire dog park! There were plenty of other dogs to play with and the dog parents were great about keeping eyes on their dogs. Two gripes...dog walkers... it makes me nervous when there is only one person to maintain control of 7 dogs. My dog, of course seeing a pack of dogs went to say hello and a couple of the dogs were not amused. My dog is well socialized and did a great job of backing off and slowly introducing himself to the pack. I was a proud mama. He made several friends, got to run and play to his hearts content. 2nd gripe... DON'T BRING TODDLERS OR SMALL KIDS TO THE DOG PARK. There is a reason why many dog parks don't allow children under the age of 12 in the park. Dogs are unpredictable. When I see a parent with a small child at the dog park, I ask the parent to pick up their child, because my 60lb dog may knock your child down as he tries to play or attempts to herd them. I flat out say: I'm trying to prevent your child from getting hurt". I also shouldn't have to yell the "leave it" command to my dog when he nears your child... my dog is in a space designed for dogs, he should be able to play freely. It's a DOG PARK, not a KID PARK. Toddlers shouldn't be roaming around large unpredictable dogs, it's extremely dangerous. Grandview is a great dog park, it's a truly beautiful space. Make sure you have strong recall for your dogs and again keep small kids at home. Be sure to not leave valuables in your car and have a blast! It's an amazing space. read more

I've been taking my Chihuahua"s here for over 10 years. I've also tried other dog parks but Grandview is by far the best. I recommend any dog size or breed to check out this park. The volunteers have did such a wonderful job updating everything and fencing the whole park off. The only thing that I suggest is that you don't leave valuables in your car or anything in site. As my car window was smashed and my 2 extra dog leashes we're stollen. Other than that this park is perfect for fur babies. My dog absolutely loves this park! She's deaf so it's hard for me to take her off leash places. This park is huge and completely fenced in. My favorite is a little pond off to the side that's also completely fenced off and not too deep so she can swim and cool off in. So much room for dogs to run. During the week there's a lot of dogs from daycares visiting. There's nice big grassy fields, a sand pit, and a little agility course. I have a giant pending list of places I need to write. (To which I say "Meh") o.o for this is Atreus (My poodle) request to start this one first. HE HAS TOLD ME OF THIS PLACE AND TO SPREAD THE WORD LIKE THE DEFORESTATION OF SARUMAN of the old forest in the LOTR!! *cough* but by all means this is a place that is so cool for your hairy little/med/big guy/gal/trans. Lol (Cuz you never know with dogs. *ponders on that thought.* so let's go for a walk on this place with my review leash! (I'm trying here, but when a little poodle that weighs 55lb is on my neck.. it's hard to see the screen!) Atmosphere: BIG OPEN SPACE! I mean, I've been to dog parks (Amateur dog parks for that case!) But this takes it to the next level! So much room to run around, sniff dogs, do karate kicks (which I dont mean to brag but, eat your heart out Daniel san) and play! (And then I took my poodle here, for him to experience this.) Its amazing! Theres a clear open space of dirt where people go and throw balls, frisbee and random awkward looking toys shaped as scared small mammals. Theres little loopel sections of trails so you can constantly go round in circles with your dog. (Which if you take your furry friend for any physical activity, you are a good Human! [I read human like hooomahn]) Theres a small off trail up a steep hill to build your calfs and your dogs calfs! (Cuz nothing says twin dragons sequel from the 80s then buff calfs! [That and sweet jackets! O.o I wonder if they make poodle size? Things that keep me up at night.]) The ever changing terrain on the trail, makes a great running spot for dogs and a great challenge to them. (Kinda like that teacher that kept giving you challenging questions, but you thought that he was just being a beef-jerk-y. Only to find that 10 years later, everything you needy to succeed was in those challenging answers you took from his class. *tear rolls down* Thanks Mr Scheusku!) There is a small section, where you can train your dog for some show competition events. (AKA: stand there and curse to the dog gods why you're a horrible trainer and having a small melt down while your dog watches you slowly sink away to madness.... mwuhahaha) Community: People are friendly there, everyone is very acceptable with boundaries and I have met a lot of dog nuts like myself there. Anyone that enters picks up after themselves (but if you don't pick up your dogs butt sausages, everyone in the park will gang up on you and beat you with there poop bags!!!! [And I put bricks on mine! Dont ask me why!!! O.O]) Conclusion: My poodles favorite dog park! He gets watery eyes whenever I even mention this park. (Its like he knows! Or maybe he just loves me?? ._. Nope) Amazing atmosphere that keeps your canine entertained, great community and just the fact that your taking your little portable size chewbacca outside is a big plus! Wowowow this park is HUGE! I had never come here before until we met up with a friend for a puppy play date. I've seriously never seen a dog park this big. It overlooks all of Kent too, and you can see the mountains and the sunset here is amazing! So not only does the dog get to have fun, but you're somewhere suuuper beautiful at the same time! They have lawn chairs out for people to sit on, there's complimentary doggy bags, and there's a place for the dogs to hydrate. No complaints - we'll definitely be back! read more

0/10 experience. There's this older lady with a pack of dogs. The worst dog was a long haired brown small breed I believe a chihuahua. It immediately ran up on my puppy barking and nipping. The lady goes "he's an asshole to puppies". Unsure why he's off leash at a dog park if he cannot play nicely with EVERY dog. She also hard a larger gray one that didn't seem to play well with anyone outside his group. As a new person to the park which I stated in hopes she'd call her dogs off, I felt uncomfortable trying to proceed through the rest after seeing more packs of dogs with one handler. read more

I appreciate the convenience Grandview offers, but there seems to be an uptick in aggressive, unsocialized dogs visiting here. There is a lot of open space to separate yourself and get your dog exercise, but it's really hit or miss day-to-day in finding other dogs that want to play and are social. read more

I wish we had a doggie obstacle course in Seattle! A friend of mine from T-Town meets me in Kent (I tell him it's halfway, but it's really not hehe) so we can let our pups go bonkers on the course. First, you should know that Grandview Park doesn't mapquest correctly every time. And I am terrible at directions so I have to continually refresh my map app until I get there. Once you arrive, they have a medium-sized parking lot. *Note: there's a high rate of prowlers, so don't leave any valuables behind. End public service notice. The park is in a "bowl" so you'll have to go down some steps. The steps put you right in front of the small obstacle course--complete with ramps, half-buried tires to go under/over, balance beam, hurdles etc. My Zero is built a lot like me, we both have a soft layer of cushion, are a bit cumbersome, and we both have the tendency to drool, so it never ceases to amaze me how agile she is on the course. This really is a great place to train your dog (bring lots of treats!) After running the stiff, short-stepped run with the one arm out like in the dog shows, you can relax by walking the trail around the park, or head over to the covered benches in case of a downpour. My only complaint about the park is that one drinking water source comes from run-off down the metal roof of the covered area into a barrel with a spigot. Or, your other option is a water fountain randomly located far away from everything else. I bring my Gulpy for the Z-dog; only the best for her! read more

LOVE this park! I live in Renton and Grandview is only 9 miles from my house - quick shot down hwy 167 :-) It's the "Marymoor" of the South end in my opinion and, in my opinion, just as good for us down here. While I really like Marymoor dog park, I do not like the long drive north or the "pay for parking" up there (although it *is* only $1.00). PRO: Location - Grandview is a hidden gem (I'm really shocked that soooo many dog owners in the South end do not know about this park) - esp. since it is so big and very conveniently located right off exit 149 on I-5 (behind Poulsbo RV if you're looking from the highway). It's a bit "off the beaten path" once you're on Military Rd but still pretty easy to find. MUCH better than going to Renton dog park - ugh! PRO: Size - I really like the size (32 acres of land total) and it is VERY well-maintained inside the park. With the exception of the cold, wet winter months (which is expected) the overgrowth throughout the grounds is kept trimmed and neat. It is fully fenced with the exception of the main entrance so it's wise to keep your dog on a leash until you're completely inside (also to avoid the dog getting hit by cars entering & exiting the park!) PRO: Amenities - I like the agility area, which my Border Collie uses, and I also like the paved paths that make for easy walking when I want to walk laps around the park. There are always plenty of waste pick-up bags and the drinking fountains are turned on for most of the year but I bring a water bottle for my dog. PRO: View - the view of Mt. Rainer (on a good, sunny, clear day) is SPECTACULAR! Great place for photographers to capture some really good nature shots while on the top level of the park! CON: Irresponsible pet owners - Yes, I've come across a fair amount of dumb, rude, and irresponsible PEOPLE that, because of their actions, sometimes create issues within the park but I won't base my rating of the park itself on that. And it's not a dog's fault that he/she has an IGNORANT, clueless owner (poor dog! I want to rescue those animals every time!) Yep, there are dumb people who let their wild, untrained dog run loose and jump on strangers or who don't pick up their dog's waste but you'll find them at every dog park. In the year I've been coming to this park, I've had just a few "issues" with people and I find it's the PET OWNERS, not the dogs, who need training classes!!! I'm thinking about stating a business . . . CON: Wish it had beach/water access but there is a small river (?) located outside the park's gated area and is accessible by leaving the SE side of the park. Your dog can "clean off" if he/she is OK running through that water. CON: Parking isn't *bad* (I've never not been able to get a spot) but there are often sizeable potholes right at the park's entrance that are difficult to maneuver around. Don't know who is responsible for maintaining (volunteer group or the City of SeaTac). ***REMEMBER: This is an outdoor DOG PARK so you should expect your dog to get dirty!! There *are* some areas where large puddles form but you can't really control where the rain falls. There's a big sand pit and plenty of grass, dirt, and gravel too! If you don't want to get dirty, stay in your yard. *NOTE: This park may be owned by the city but it "run" entirely by volunteers so if you feel the need to voice your negative opinion about something about the park, you should be prepared to pitch in and help improve/change it. I'm not a "spokesperson" for the park but I do believe in "putting your money and/or actions where your mouth is". I use this park often and because of that, I do give financial support to the S.O.D.A. org and will start volunteering with S.O.D.A. in the Spring because it's the "right thing to do" as a dog park patron. read more

This has been my favorite place to take my pup as of late! The view itself deserves 5 stars! Obviously, this park is enormous! I love coming here with the intention of getting a little workout in myself! We've been here multiple times but there are still a bunch of trails and areas that we've yet to explore. Almost every dog and owner I've met here have been friendly. At smaller parks I notice that people love to bring their small, aggressive dogs and it's hard to get away from them. That's not a problem here since there are so many different areas for dogs to roam around! I usually stay in the area up the hill, closer to the entrance. It's mostly grass here and as you go down the hill, there's a large sandy area where a lot of bigger dogs play. There's an agility course down there too! You have to be careful of a few things here: 1. It seems that car break ins are quite common. I've gone into the park and came out to find shattered glass on the ground. I make it a point to not leave ANYTHING visible in my car. You should too! 2. Tall grass and inattentive owners = dog poop in hiding!! Don't wear your good shoes here, I've come close to stepping in poop way too many times. read more

I have to unfortunately update my review for Grandview. This place is so close to my apartment and the park itself is amazing, if my dog and I could go and be alone it would be the PERFECT place. This update has nothing to with how the park is kept up, the grounds itself or the volunteers that donate their time and energy to make this place what it is. However, as mentioned in my previous review my dog got sick when we came here once. Now, we have been back a few times but this most recent time he got an eye infection which cost me about $150 for an exam, shots and medication. Poor boy :( The owners that bring their dogs here while they are sick, exhibiting signs of illness or anything like that should be ashamed of themselves! How can you not know that diseases- canine or not- are communicable! There have been about 5 cases of K9 influenza in Kent lately (as told to me by my vet a week ago) and without the vaccination some dogs can get incredibly sick and die! Of course I got my little guy the vaccine but I cannot in good conscience leave my 5 star review up without warning owners about the high risk of illness here due to irresponsible pet owners. My dog and I love this park but honestly I'm so afraid to bring him here again since he's gotten sick twice now AND the K9 Flu outbreak in the area.. I just can't risk it. read more

I love this dog park but I do have a problem with dog walkers who can't keep up with the pets they're handling. You'll find rogue poop in here so watch out when you're walking your dog to the obstacle course or to the shed. Water is also turned off during the winter so heads up if you're bringing your dog here. You can also suffer from the sweltering heat. There's not many trees here but you get a magnificent view of Mt. Rainier. Too bad they added new housing development to the view. My biggest issue here is my dog got sick the last time we took her here. They collect water through jugs during the rainy season so I'm assuming my dog got it when we were playing by the shed. No antibiotic could heal our dog. Once the treatment was over, the illness is back with vengeance. What helped is bland diet (chicken breast & broth/rice), lots of probiotic and some Vibactra homeopathic drops on her food. She's okay now but we're still worried it might come back. We're staying away from Grand View but we're back at French Lake. Grand View is a wonderful huuuge dog park. Beware that it's size and it being maintained by volunteers can be an issue (city controls the water). read more

Not what I had expected as I am use to Magnuson where they have a fenced off area for the small dogs, especially having my brother's dog who loves to "run away". However, the views of Mt. Rainer are gorgeous on a summers day and the people who go there are pretty friendly. This dog park is HUGE! Plenty of water for the doggies to drink, they had a couple kiddy pools for the dogs to cool off during this summer's heat and lots of tennis balls to play fetch with. I would totally come back now knowing my brother's dog stays relatively close to me (I had to bring treats in case he ran off). I just wish they had a fenced off area so I didn't have to restrict him, to allow him to roam and run free. read more

We live in Federal away, but will make the drive to this dog park. Grand view is very spacious, with plenty of different areas for your dog to run and explore. Most of the owners are responsible and the dogs have plenty of room to play and run freely. There are plenty of doggie bags available and water stations throughout. I like that I could get a great walk in while my dog plays and explores. read more
