I then asked for the corporate contact number so I could report the unsatisfactory service. The general manager responded that he was the manager. I clarified that I was requesting the corporate office contact information, and he claimed that all locations are privately owned. While I understand that franchises may be privately operated, there is still a corporate office that establishes operational standards. Refusing to provide a simple printed receipt and declining to share corporate contact information is highly unprofessional and reflects very poor customer service. Overall, this experience was extremely unsatisfactory.

Don't misunderstand that to mean a 4-star hotel! It is not.  There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance, though since many of them are across the "highway," you either have to walk a fair distance to reach a legal crosswalk, or take your chances that the Grandview police aren't looking for revenue by way of jay-walkers.  Both times I've stayed here, I've done a thorough check for bed bugs immediately upon entry, and not found any! Yay! More about the beds later...  The rooms are old and dingy, but seem to be clean. Though I could smell old, stale cigarette smoke when I first opened the door, it was almost immediately replaced with a much cleaner, very pleasant scent.  I have no idea if they have different sized beds or rooms, but both times I've stayed there, I had a pretty large room with a queen sized bed, a full sized bath, and a fridge and microwave. One of the two times, there was a quirky tiny stove/sink combo that was part of the fridge. The fridge and freezer worked perfectly, and the fridge part was larger than average for a motel room. The sink part of the concoction worked, but the stovetop was missing the coils. I don't know if it would have worked otherwise. The indicators light up when you turn the knobs. In this room (16), there's a small table with 2 padded chairs and a lamp. The TV sits on a long, low bureau that has 4 large drawers and a lamp. On one side of the bed is a night stand with 2 large drawers and a lamp. I don't recall the setup from the previous room. Also, there are power outlets, but for AC only. If you have devices requiring USB power, you'll need to bring a plug for that. They come with relatively small, but nice enough flat-screen TVs with cable. The remotes have had some issues getting the TVs to turn on, but once I turned the TV on manually, the remote mostly worked fine after that. Not always. Not sure what the issue is. They offer Wifi. I don't recall if I had any issues with it the last time I was here, but I haven't had any issues this time. Works perfectly.  They have in-wall heater/AC units. They are fairly noisy, but I like it that way. It's like built-in white noise. Helpful considering this place sits directly on Wine Country Road. In room 16, there doesn't seem to be a problem with the curtain length/placement, but in room 14, the way the air blows from the unit blows the curtains all over the place. I had to clamp them down with some clamps I happened to have with me that stay, or else those outside would have seen far more of me than they'd like!  The bathtub is a fairly decent size. Not large, but large enough to take a bath in. The water pressure is very good, but unfortunately the shower nozzle sprayer isn't adjustable, and it doesn't really provide an adequate stream with the built-in spray pattern. They would do well to replace the shower heads with newer ones - preferably even handheld ones. They do provide a small bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth, and a floor towel/mat. I would feel a lot more comfortable if they went the extra mile and bought enclosed mattress covers that protect against bed bugs, dust mites, etc... most h/motels these days are using those. This place actually doesn't even use fitted sheets. Just a large flat sheet that is tucked in. Their pillows are comfortable, but stained, and it's kind of gross. I wish those, too, were in zippered cases. I think it's a bit odd that they haven't ponied up to at least buy fitted sheets. Those aren't very expensive, and would go a long way toward the rooms seeming cleaner and more professional, even if it is just a cheap motel room. Little touches still matter.  There isn't, in fact, a swimming pool. There used to be, but it is overgrown now, and has been for as long as I've been patronizing this weird little town.  Their Vacancy sign isn't always truthful. I called one morning because it said there was a vacancy. I'm a night driver, and I needed to get to sleep. I hoped they would allow me to check-in early. But they said they didn't have any rooms available until that night. I said the Vacancy sign was lit, and they said "Yes, it will be vacant later!" It's probably a good idea to call ahead anyway. It is a friendly, family-run business, and I'm pretty sure they live on-site. Sometimes, they're out. If you call ahead, they can arrange to be here when you arrive, or at least tell you when they will be here. If you're a trucker with only a bobtail, they might accommodate you. There are a couple of places they'll allow you to part your bobtail if you're staying here. That was the first reason I ever stayed here, so they won a customer that way!  This isn't a fancy place, so please don't give a crappy review for it not being a nicer place. It's inexpensive and clean. Sometimes, that's all you need!

Inside is delightfully spacious! Chambered ceilings with walls of barrels for a vintage feel, plenty of room for everyone, tables to accommodate any group. The decor 'pairs' well with the fun flights to make DW a pleasurable tasting experience. Our service was friendly and courteous, respectful to have us enjoy our reservation at our pace. "Does the charcuterie plate have any goat or sheep cheese?" Walks away. "I'd like the x tasting and the charcuterie platter." Walks away to put in the charcuterie order (instead of pouring the first wine). I wish she could have texted someone or used a computer/tablet to communicate with the kitchen... or had an experienced person there to provide guidance/training. Eventually we got the snacks and wine. They were each... okay. The wine tasting was a bit awkward because she was reading the descriptions (for the first time??) and seemed surprised by some of the flavors/notes mentioned. I can see us visiting again if we're for some reason in town for an event and the event happens to be here, but I'd rather explore other wineries if it's just us or a group of friends exploring Prosser wine tastings.

It was a long drive from the big city, but the hotel was easy to find and we were greeted with a friendly smile and got all checked in. While the lobby of the hotel is fairly well decorated and updated, the rooms and hallways looked like something out of a bad 80s (or 90s?) movie? The orange and brown carpeting had almost psychedelic effects (especially after a few glasses of wine). And the room, while large and boasting essential like a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker, was extremely dated. Everything was clean and comfortable, though, and it seems they've kept things in surprisingly good shape maintenance-wise. The thing that made the BW stand out most was the friendly staff. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the very kind ladies who staffed the breakfast area it was all top notch, and it's what would make me return here if I go on another wine trip. Speaking of breakfast, this place has one of the best free breakfasts I've every seen - including not only the usual waffle stand, oatmeal, and baked goods, but a full-service omelette bar and huge selection of dairy-free milk alternatives too. Wish I could give a better review…read more Our first room didn't work so we had to get another. If only the room was cleaner and better I'd give it a better rating. I have two kids, Under 5. My husband spotted the pill on the window sill before they did thankfully, which is unacceptable that it was even there! There was a odd looking toy by the bed that seemed sketchy. Felt like something was done in there and we'll it wasn't cleaned good enough. Really sketchy. But only reason I'm doing a 3 star is the people that run it is very kind.

Starbucks, Dutch Bros, McDonalds, Carl Jr., Wendy's ,etc. The Airfield Winery makes great food to go with your wine . There is also a Best Western in the area. Only about a 30 minute drive to Richland, Wa. We at at a Mexican place called Las Palomas. My husband picked it up at take out as we had a dog with us. We ordered their tacos and they were some of the best we have had in a long time, They were delicious as well as authentic, and we would have had some for breakfast if they were open then. The cost was very reasonable. The hotel is dog friendly and lots of places to walk you dog. There is an outside patio you can eat at and I believe has a bar b que. One of the things I found on this trip...Only about two of the hotels we stayed in on our 3 wk trip to ND had freezers. And they were missing the little knob that adjusted that temp. We always carry a portable thermometer with us so we can know what the temp. But both places said it is because people take them. We have had mini refrigerators at every hotel but most of them have no freezers anymore.

The other thing is that while everything looked clean, the towels and linens didn't feel laundered. they felt used and refolded. there was also a blood stain on my sheets which should never be allowed. The final nail in the coffin of this place is the A/C was extremely noisy all night. I would urge the owners to re-evaluate staff training and operations processes in order to make some quick changes which would drastically improve my review.
