Chili cheese dog with a side of chips

The food was quick and fresh. The chili was the perfect amount of spice combined with the cheese and hot dog. The bread was not the usual hot dog bun; it was a crunchy buttered piece of toast! This pleasantly unexpected combination of breaded toast and chili dog was a craving I didn't know I was missing. Great stop for delicious hot dogs!

My family and I were traveling and stopped for lunch. Everything was so good it makes me sad that we won't be able to go back unless we're in the area again! I got a sandwich that had a fried green tomato, pimento cheese, lettuce, and a jalapeño aioli on it. I added bacon. It was SOOOOO GOOD!! Their cakes and cheesecakes were incredible as well. The people were friendly and great with our kids. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and not crowded. Would absolutely recommend!

While on the way to see the Grandview, it was only right to stop by the diner with the same name for a quick lunch before our hike. And pleasantly, we enjoyed ourselves here. The Food: Food was great! I went with a cup of chili as an appetizer and a Cheeseburger with chips as my main entree. The cup of chili was pretty good, great ratio between meat and beans. The burger was cooked perfectly as well, tender and juicy with some fresh toppings. The Service: Service was amazing! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Orders were brought out in a timely manner and there were frequent table check ups as well! The Atmosphere: The diner was nice, very clean on the inside and there was a decent amount of seating available. The diner is connected to the ice cream shop next door as well, so there is also additional seating there. Overall, a 5/5! Absolutely enjoyed our time here. The food was great and the service made it even better. I'd recommend stopping by and supporting this local, family-owned diner.

Home made potato chips with a home made French onion dip and 1/2 of a club sandwich!

This is a hidden little gem! Food is excellent, service is top-notch! It was that little country diner feel to it. The home made potato chips are amazing! I got the club sandwich and I was not disappointed! This place is a bargain if you just want some food and maybe some ice cream! Nestled away in the back is an ice cream parlor with a real nice selection of creamery to tame any cravings!

(Dixieland Delight by Alabama playing in the background as we begin) A few folks have asked me if I've tried the hot dogs from Grandview Diner. Well, I tried them and fried green tomatoes at the Grandview Restaurant in Spencer years ago. However, there's also a Grandview Diner in Beaver. Today, I jumped at the opportunity to mark another restaurant off my list. Before going, you must know that the "new" menu they have on Facebook is not the newest menu. I like to plan ahead, so I had already decided on two hot dogs and onion petals before I walked in. To my dismay, onion petals have now been replaced by a $9 onion ring tower, and that's way too much for this ol' gal to handle. Also, they raised the price of hot dogs. I scoured the new "new" menu quickly and discovered they had fried green tomatoes. That's a little treasure you don't see too often. Five slices for around $9. I thought it was a little steep for a place playing Lynyrd Skynyrd and Charlie Daniels in the background, but I do love some "maters," so I decided to give them a whirl. Side note, I have no issue with country and southern rock. However, music sets a certain ambiance for a restaurant. Those prices were a little steep for the "Devil Went Down to Georgia" vibes the diner projects. I paid around 19 bucks for a pop, one hot dog, and tomatoes. It wasn't bad food. The hot dog had a nice slaw. It was sweet, just like my mawmaw used to make. The chili had a good flavor. They only sell English dogs, by the way. I like English dogs, so that wasn't a big issue with me. Unfortunately, I wasn't a huge fan of the "maters." I thought they lacked flavor and were kind of mushy. I felt a little let down. I expected them to be better for the price and also because folks had recommended them. Would I go back? Nah. I can mark this one off the list. I kinda wish I had gone to Olive Garden, lol. The Never Ending Pasta Bowl special would have been cheaper, and I'd actually know what I'm getting.

Great find. Fantastic hospitality. Good burgers and onion rings. We didn't have any, but looked like there was a homemade pineapple upside down cake on the counter. Inside has about 7 tables. Would have been five stars except for some bathroom issues. Would definitely go back next time we are in the area of New River Gorge National Park.

This place is a hidden gem! Everything we've had has been delicious. Top marks go the philly cheesesteak, hot dogs, and French fries. The desserts are super. The staff are friendly and attentive. Portions are big and it's cheap too!

This place is great for breakfast. I haven't been there for any other meal. My son says they have "the best biscuits in the world."

So naturally I wondered... could there possibly be more where that came from? Why yes -- Tyler is her name, and she was absolutely phenomenal Handling a surprise, out-of-nowhere busy night solo, and doing it with grace, warmth, and hustle. Meanwhile, the Queens in the back -- Stella and Sarah -- worked their magic and made me something special tonight aptly named "The Queen": the Bistro's take on a classic French dip And for context... I've eaten more French dips than I can count, including the Real Deal from Philippe The Original in LA. This one? Really good. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully dressed with veggies, fantastic local bread, and as always... THOSE CHIPS. Add a side of the onion dip and honestly -- my God so good. Thank you again, Black Circle Bistro, for another unforgettable trip through the menu. Many more to come. (And yes, I didn't take photos -- I know, I'm the worst. They absolutely deserved them )

I used to travel and stop here often and it was amazing. The craft area of handcrafted merchandise has become not as sophisticated and high end workmanship. I noticed that change the last time I stopped through so that was disappointing. I used to often browse for gifts but that time nothing much to see. But on to my main thing -- the food. I'm actually heartbroken that now it's not in any way what it was. I learned that a few years back The Greenbrier Hotel stopped operating the dining room. And it shows -- they have remodeled and added tables. You no longer go through the cafeteria w the chance to see the grill and the food. And the food is pretty low to average score. The fried green tomatoes used to be pan cook w cornmeal and now battered and deep fried -- terrible the vegetable plate used to be amazing but barely edible. The cornbread used to be a large tender square delish but now a couple of tasteless muffins. My plate was served quickly and the food was barely warm. My friend's meal was very average, the salmon. The other was the soup and a side vegetable. Again average. I'm not sure why they lost The Greenbrier but it's not worth the cost. Still a nice place to walk around and stretch your legs but the food isn't worth the price and the crafts not at a high level. So a very disappointing meal. So you've been forewarned. All good things must come to an end.
