The Grand Summit is not so grand. It was and still is an unsafe place to stay. The rains came washing the only road to allow staff, guest, ambulances, and firetrucks to pass. Three days trapped in a tiny studio was too much. Even though most of the rooms were empty, they wouldn't upgrade us to something a little bit bigger leaving us in a lonely, negative, dark, and cramped space, which increased stress and anxiety. The temporary bridge will not handle the weight of a firetruck, ambulance or any vehicle of considerable weight. The staff that were confined with us for the 3 days were incredibly helpful and informative about the bridge/road that washed away being needed for repair for a very long time. Keep your family safe and away from the Grand Summit and Sunday River. read more

I thought I posted this in March, but I guess it got saved as a draft. So here it is. In 2014 In a previous review I wrote I'd never spend another dime here. Well the ski in/out lodging choices can get desperate up here and I have been back six times since that review and every stay has been lackluster and expensive. There is literally only one reason to stay at this pig sty. That's to have a ski in/out experience. However this is my first experience back since coof started and yikes I'll start off with the good. As someone who has been coming up here sometimes twice a year since 1995 I always arrive an hour or two before the official check in time. This year my room was ready upon my arrival. That's a first. Very exciting. I'm a fan of the fact that there are multiple lift ticket pick up points. It's also great that you can text the front desk to harass them with mundane questions like. "Why does my fresh towel in my room have a large blood stain on it?" I'm a fan of the little igloos and A frames outside that's cool. The wifi worked really good for our stay. But the bad. The room was clean but was tired. When was this hotel built? 1992/93? I remember coming here as a child and everything was brand new. Our vintage 1990's oven kept turning on and off. Our vintage March of 1993 MIcrowave worked but was absolutely disgusting inside. (I did house keepings work and cleaned it) Apparently they no longer give you a roll of paper towels when you stay here. I mean i'm shelling out around 450 a night. You would think I could get a .39 roll of paper towels, but no I had to go get ripped off at the Barking Dawg. The television was messed up. We had one channel. I inquired with the front desk and they said they would send someone to the room on Friday. But they never did. I figured it out myself. Someone fooled with the setting and made it so you have to go into menu and scan the digital channels. Putting in the channel number did not yield anything. I know this sounds trivial and I don't really watch television. But sometimes it's nice to know that an amenity i'm paying for works. The tap water will literally burn your mouth. So that's nice! On my first night I went to get my pregnant wife some water at camp. They advertised that they are open until 9pm on Thursdays. But the door was closed and lights were off at 8:40pm. Oh cool. That's great. I then went up to the vending machine on floor 2. It was showing an error code and said out of order. I told the dude at the front desk the vending machine is broken. He said "oh they will be in tomorrow morning to fix that" Cool that doesn't help me. I found an unrefrigerated vending machine that was flashing a code that said "78 degrees" that has a single bottle of water in it on the other side of the hotel. So that's cool at least I did not need to drive to get my wife water. Just one measly $3 bottle of water. The room. So yeah it was vintage. The murphy bed housing was disgraceful and the mattress seemed thinner than the ones in other years. The vintage heater/ac unit sounded like a runaway train. The door was so racked you had to slam it to close it. Btw look at the picture. You can see the outside of the room around most of the door. So you could see everyone walking by at night. The inside of the fridge was absolutely disgusting and it was obviously never cleaned. That little cafe near the ski check was not open when we were there. Cashless payments are the literal antichrist. I tipped an extremely inattentive waiter $5 for my breakfast meal. Despite this man not filling up my water, asking me for anything and simply handing me my check he saw me pull out a wad of cash and put $5 in and he said "it needs to be charged to the room" Uhhh lol no. No, your employer can not force you to not accept cash tips. That is stupid. He told me he would not take cash so poor fella didn't get a tip. Oh btw if you advertise a buffet breakfast being available to 10 and don't allow someone in at 9:45 you suck. You guys did that to my pregnant wife while I was out skiing. She called me crying at 9:45 because some piece of shit told her breakfast was closed. What is this bull shit? Complaining gets nowhere with any BOYNE owned property. But what does work is people reading these reviews. If I cost them one couple going to a different place it's a victory in my book. read more

Ski resort but open in a limited fashion for the summer. Rooms are dated in their amenities and the beds while soft move around. It does look like some renovations are underway. The outside pool, igloo areas and games are newer. The lift ride to the upper peak is great and the bar is much newer. read more

The hotel was dated, room was dirty, and the service from some employees was very bad. We had a one night stay during Christmas week in a standard room. Very overpriced at $300 per night. Not the more upscale hotel that is advertised. The room was large, but in need of a renovation. The room had two coffee mugs, one of which was dirty from prior guest, and not one drinking glass plastic or otherwise. The carpet was dirty so much that I didn't want my son to walk on it in bare feet. The bathroom shower had curved curtain rod that prevented the bathroom door from fully opening. I called to ask for some drinking glasses and the employee who brought them up had his fingers inside the glasses as his passed them to me. The hotel walls are thin and it's very noisy. The key cards kept de-activating so they were definitely super sensitive to my phone or something similar to keycards like 10-15 years ago. There is no bellman to help with luggage, but as the employee at the front desk told me "there are carts floating around." The restaurants on the hotel website were not open for dinner. One is only open for breakfast some days despite it being a busy holiday week and I don't think the other one was open at all. Since our room type did not come with a microwave or refrigerator, which we knew, we were counting on eating dinner at the restaurant after a long drive there in the evening. So we got food at the market down the street, and asked the hotel for a spoon. They were only able to find us a fork. The pros to this property is the location and the shuttle service to the mountain minutes away. It is ski in/ski out, which was good for me, but not for a beginner skier like my son since it's more difficult terrain. Breakfast was included and quite good. I never intended to write this review and rather wanted to address the issues I had with my stay while at the hotel. However, when I tried to do this as I was checking out, the woman at the front desk just gave an attitude of annoyance, disinterest, and blamed me for not knowing the hotel restaurant was closed saying I should have looked outside the hotel website to find the hours. I did not feel valued at all as a guest. Stay elsewhere - it will be a better value, cleaner, and you will be treated better. read more

I want to give this place zero stars. Where do I start. You walk into this lobby thinking wow this is a nice hotel. Then you open your room door and are blown away at the fact you just spent over $300 to sleep on a Murphy bed that pulls out of the wall with pillows that are the size of my toddlers pillows! The room is tired and old along with the rest of the hotel. Kitchenette is outdated and paint chips falling off the shower ceiling into the shower. The doors in every room ABSOLUTELY SLAM SHUT all hours of the night. Oh and don't get caught smoking on the property but you can smoke allllll the weed you want. Talked to waitress at the Camp restaraunt and she just arrived the day before from Big Sky resort Montana, apparently a sister resort, to work here for 20 days. They apparently don't treat their staff well either as she was sleeping on a mattress on a floor in "employee housing". Service was absolutely terrible but she was a very nice lady. Now time to leave this place thank god. Somebody working maintenance older guy scruffy beard, apparently caught me going out the fire escape at the end of building which was right next to my room and parking lot. He was extremely rude and says " went out my fire escape huh, don't let it happen next time " I just replied...."don't worry there won't ever be a next time pal" Bottom line, staff is not properly trained or just ignorant. The rooms are outdated and original, the Murphy beds suck. And the maintenance guy should go get a job as a greeter at Walmart. Zero stars read more

Overall the accommodations and services are above average. However, the pool and hot tub, two absolute necessities on a ski trip, have been closed for the past two days. Those facilities are one of the main reasons that we booked this hotel, and I'm pretty upset to find them unavailable. The front desk offered the use of the Jordan Hotel's facilities, but that is clear across the mountain and not at all convenient. I feel like there should be some sort of compensation for something so major to be closed for an unknown amount of time. I could barely sleep last night because my muscles were sore, and despite being told that the hot tub would be available today, it is still closed. Not having a hot tub available has really put a damper on our vacation. We will not be staying here again. read more

Went upta Maine to visit family & stayed here for a few days. We didn't see or use the pool, so can't comment on that. GOOD - Employees were very nice & always helpful. The room itself was clean, including the beds, which each had four pillows & were comfortable. USB & plug in charger ports on the clock in the room worked fine. Ate lunch one day in "The Camp" restaurant & their lobster corn chowder was one of the BEST bowls I've ever had. If you go, get that!! BAD - The Formica counters in the bathrooms definitely dated the place though. As did the carpeting, which is looking kinda tired in both the hallways & rooms. Could hear some noise from the next room at night with the TV off & the lights out. SO - Clean comfortable beds made the Grand Summit Hotel an "A-OK" stay for us. Very disappointed. Previous guest, 2Xs, for skiing. The hotel had always been nice and the restaurant, Camp, good. Wow things have changed. Hotel common areas are clean enough. Room is nothing special, had a studio. Closet doors are broken. Faucet in the kitchenette is broken. Pretty dated. Staff is either super nice and helpful, which some are, or they are miserable, unfriendly and unhelpful. Protocols are explained to you as if you are an uncooperative protagonist and need to be reprimanded in advance of you discretions. Unfortunately the later is what you remember most. Breakfast used to be great wit many options. Now it's just a line buffet where you are served in take away containers from a very limited selection. I understand this is due to the pandemic but a little imagination could make the buffet great. Seating is not permitted during breakfast in order to social distance, but the lobby and hallways are packed with people waiting for the breakfast not keeping distance. Keep apart in restaurant pack them in before, got it. Ill conceived operation. Camp restaurant used to have a nice menu with options, previously ate all my meals there when here. Now the menu is very limited and uninteresting. 3 appetizers, 5 mains, a couple of salads. It's the main restaurant for the hotel it needs to do better. Overall management needs to do a better job. It seems as if they are resting on the fact that they have no competition and are uninterested in providing an enjoyable experience to their guests. Things feel like they are just doing the minimum so they can continue to charge what they do. Remember there are no deals here, it's all top dollar. read more

We stayed at the Grand Summit from Feb 14-17 of 2021. Grand Summit claims it is a family hotel on their website but it does not take long to realize it is quite the opposite. At check in it was evident that the staff was overwhelmed with having the hotel at full capacity during COVID. This week was school vacation week which is normally a busy week at most ski resorts. The Grand summit hotel offered nothing. The vending machines were empty the restaurant was closed most Of the time we were there. The pool was reservation only for 30 people and we were denied swimming spots due to lack of reservations even though there was usually less than 15 people in the pool. It was apparent guests were making reservations just in case they felt like swimming. Security stalked and reprimanded our children for playing tag or hide and seek during non quiet hours and for taking a break and eating in the elevator lobby at tables where other guests were congregating throughout the weekend. My wife was not allowed to take a towel out of the pool area even tho she was wet from swimming and it was 13 degrees out. It was by far the worst experience we have ever had as a group with kids in a hotel. Each night our kids were in their rooms by 10 honoring the quiet time hours. Please find another hotel to spend your 500$ a night for outdated rooms. We will not be back read more

I had a reservation here that I had to cancel due to Covid-19. I was charged $600+ for canceling. I feel this exploits the Covid situation and encourages Covid positive to go where they shouldn't. I could have just gone and spread Covid. I have stayed here before but never will again!! read more

This place has a great location on the ski slope. Its ski in, Ski out. located right above the two lifts on the left side of the mountain. They Have breakfast buffet every morning equipped with an omelette's and crepe station. They have a large heated swimming pool and a jacuzzi as well as a sauna, work out room and message center. The bad: There are alot of kids here. The walls are thin so you do here ppl walking down the halls in there clunky ski boots at 6-7 in the morning. The rooms and elevators seem very old. The cleaning maids always seemed to come at inconvenient times (right when you get back from the mountain and are trying to pile off all of your ski clothes and relax). and the sauna is warm at best. read more

Although the hotel Room and facilities were nice, and the location is great - you can ski right from the hotel to the White Cap chairlift, the rooms are not very soundproof. Construction is wood frame, with apparently little or no insulation between rooms. We could hear everything that people in the adjacent room were saying, and could hear their TV program, also nearly word for word. And I don't think they were speaking loudly or had the tv volume up too high. For those reasons, we would not stay there again. read more

They have a room where you can enter the pool from inside and then swim out. The bar was a little expensive. $20 for a glass of wine and beer. Breakfast buffet was great. DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$ - The mattresses are like sleeping on a college futon. The service is basically nonexistent and everything is outdated. You can hear people in the room above you and in the hallways - very loud! You still have to take a shuttle to get to the welcome center and ski school for the kids. This year of course had its unique impact on hotel operations. Overall the hotel did reasonable good job in establish models to minimize the COVID impact and provide safe environment for the guest. Front desk is very helpful. There are definitely rooms for improvement. We stayed here for a week. overall it's ok but a few things really were lousy. First their hot tub was closed for a few days. I understand things happen, but it took way too long to fix it. Not having a hot tub available takes its toll on your legs, and seriously limits how much you can ski the next day. It was hard to sleep my legs were sore and I heard other guests complaining about the same thing. It was a big part of why we booked our stay here. But the real problem was the absolutely abysmal front desk staff. In no way whatsoever can their responses or solutions to this problem be confused for anything helpful. They made arrangements with the Jordan to use their hot tub, but being shuttled to the other side of the mountain and back is very inconvenient. My girlfriend even emailed the manager (cause he or she was never around) and they never responded. what the hell is that? Neither the management nor the front desk staff even seemed to care and no offer of compensation was made. If it were my place I'd be handing out drink vouchers to the bar and apologizing profusely. Instead we were made to feel like we were bothering them. I don't even remember them saying sorry. There are something like 400 rooms, and one hot tub that fits about 12. Even when it did work finally it was stuffed like a can of sardines. Second... the food offered to the large group we were with in the grand ballroom was ok on the first night and awful the second. I have not been to prison but I'm pretty sure I can get better food there than this place. Two stars instead of one solely because of the ski check room staff. They were friendly helpful and went out of their way a few times to solve even small issues. They were great. The front desk staff should take notes from them. We will ski sunday river again, but I honestly would rather drive ten minutes from a nearby Motel 6 to the mountain than stay here again. read more

We stayed here last night in room 171 for a wedding. Front desk guy was super nice but that was where any "good stuff" ended. There was an active bees nest over the side entrance, cobwebs on our deck, no fridge in the room, AC controls were broken. Room was dated, which I don't really mind. We asked for a late checkout - wanted to have time for our daughter, the flower girl, to get ready and such. However we were denied- 10:30 checkout. Now normally I would understand BUT we know of another member of the party who WAS given permission to stay until 2:00. We also observed many rooms that were left open and vacant (doors left open). They clearly had the room to shuffle but Heidi wasn't willing to help. Called three times pleading for an option but wasn't given one. Accommodating isn't their style I guess. Then... we go down to Camp. Great food. Then we were approached by one of the servers who asked us how we were related to the bride. "You guys cousins or something?" He said. We said we were just friends. Then he asked for our name. Then the spelling of our name. I was curious about his intentions but I let it go. He came back a minute or two later with a bill for $10. He explained that we get two adult breakfasts for free but the charge was for my daughter. He could tell I was upset (so could my wife who tried to urge him along by saying it was okay to charge us). He DID take the charge off ... he said she was close enough to the age for free breakfast (she's 6, he said it was "like, 5 and under"). Again pleased he took the charge off not because I can't afford the extra $10 but because it was just one more aggravation ... the damage was done. Oh and the door for the pool swung shut super quick and took a chunk of skin out of my bare heel. Wonder how many other chunks of skin were on that door when it hit me... read more

If you neighbors are taking a shower - you won't be sleeping - Guaranteed! The outside pools and Jacuzzi are good - complaints here, however we won't be back. read more

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! Drove up 4 hours from Boston and turned around several hours later. Signed up for a "package deal" here this weekend, which was to include room, lift tickets and breakfast. The construction of this hotel is so poor that you can literally hear every sound in rooms above, below and beside you. I called the front desk, and they moved my room. This did not help--the noise from above sounded like a family jumping up and down in ski boots. This was at 11:00pm. I called the front desk several times, and was basically told "tough luck." We decided that it was not worth staying, and drove back at midnight. The construction of the buildings was very obviously done on the cheap, to the extent that the walls are like paper. The staff is clueless and not really interested in helping out. Besides the shoddy construction, the type of clientele this place attracts does not live up to anything "Grand." It's basically an overpriced dorm in the mountains, with tons of pre-teens and college students running down the halls, shouting and making noise, with no noticeable adult supervision. So it's a ski lodge, I get it it's going to be noisy with kids away from their parents sucking down their first shot of Tequila. However, the room #161 to be exact had what Edgar Allen Poe wrote about in the Raven: this unbelievable pipe noise in the walls that was deafening. It kept us up all night. I challenge, no I dare, the owners of Sunday River to walk in that room and last 10 minutes without repeatedly gauging out his eyes with a spoon. We just returned from a family ski cation in Sunday River, Maine. We chose to stay at the Grand Summit Resort off of the hill. Happy we choose to stay right on the hill- I would highly recommend doing that. Nice to just ski directly out of your hotel and down to the chair lift. Our room was OK. Not the cleanest on our arrival. We stayed in a Studio Deluxe Suite. Which consisted of a Murphy Bed and a pull out sofa bed. The Murphy bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and creaky. We traded with my daughter on night #2 and opted to try the sofa bed. This was slightly more tolerable. Walls seemed to be quite thin also as we could hear our neighbours clearly. The location of our room was quite inconvenient and out of the way. We were located in the "south wing". So from the lobby area, where you ski in and check your ski's, eat.. Etc... We had quite a Jaunt. A very long walk down a long cold hall. Into a freezing elevator and then Up to level 1 for our room. So one thing I would ensure on your stay here is that you request to be closer to the main lobby area. The trek we had was quite a nuscience carrying ski poles etc and completely geared up to ski. The staff were very friendly. Always saying hello and eager to help if need be. We did request to have a little later check out and were not able to. Check in is at 6pm- quite late, and check out was at 1030am. read more

Very outdated rooms, hallways/stairwells are musty! Stayed for 2 nights for a friend's wedding, and second night my clutch was stolen from our table at the bar. Multiple other purses were stolen that night. I was lucky enough to get mine back (was found on the main road 12 hours later). What has me more upset now is that I have tried to contact lost and found about 2 cardigans that were left and they haven't even returned a call. I would expect a call even if items weren't found. Recently stayed here for a conference and overall found the stay quite pleasant. Staff stood out and helped make this a four-star review - exceptionally friendly and helpful, seemed to want nothing more than for you to have a great stay. The hotel itself was pretty dated and could do with some updating. Rooms were relatively spacious, though the beds seemed to fold down from the wall and therefore left a gap between the head of the bed and the wall, so you couldn't sit in bed and work as you'd fall into the gap. Rather inconvenient. We ate three meals a day here as well, through the conference, and found the food rather underwhelming. Enjoyed the variety that they pumped out to keep a variety over the course of the meeting, but generally felt it lacked appeal. The BBQ day and the taco day were quite good, and the Gifford's ice cream for dessert was exceptional and helped make this otherwise average offering quite good. Also the wifi seemed quite reasonable speed-wise, and was free for the meeting, though not sure if it always is or if that was a special deal. read more

This is our fourth or fifth time staying at the Grand Summit. Historically, we loved the ski on ski off, friendly staff and heated pool/ jacuzzi. Never had issues with noise or service. Not so this visit. We were in a deluxe studio on the third floor. Previously same type of room on second floor. Noise was such an issue that we had to sleep with ear plugs. We heard everything our neighbors did plus lots of pool noise. Noise much worse Sunday and Thursday nights. We were not there on Friday or Saturday nights. Not going to try those nights based on Sunday and Thursday. The Murphy bed old, uncomfortable, sagged in the middle and smaller than a queen. Room was dusty around the edges and never vacuumed the 5 days we were there. Cleaning was up and down. On previous visits was charged over $12 a day for cleaning tip. On this trip lowered to just under $3. No one tells you about this service charge. I found out by requesting my bill as I checked out. It seems like there is less staff and a fair amount of new, untrained staff. We had a new person for check in who's go to was no. Worst check in ever. Our room wasn't ready and when we asked how long it would be we were told that check in starts at 6PM (really?) and that there were a lot of rooms ahead of ours. Requested estimate and were told to go to the bar, took our phone # and promised to call as soon as our room was ready. Didn't want to be on the bar. Checked back a half an hour later with different staff. Room ready, no call. I do want to say that old staff continues to be delightful and helpful. Love the ski lessons,mountain. Pool was not as warm as previous years making the hot tub very crowded. read more

Rooms are out dated and the beds are Murphy beds (the beds that pull out from the wall) which was not disclosed in description. If they upgraded this hotel it would be prime as the restaurant in the hotel is good and it's in a good location. read more

I stayed for 2 nights over a weekend conference in the OFF-SEASON. (This is a SKI RESORT but there is no skiing in the middle of May.) While the largest conference/ballroom was certainly excellent, I found myself disappointed by other aspects - especially the money games the hotel plays with nickel&diming. The conference's organizers were informed that attendees would only be charged a certain conference rate. When I made my reservation, I learned of the hotel's bait-and-switch on price. They added a surcharge of 16%. Knowing that the State of Maine charges only 9%, I knew something was wrong. When I called back, they said it was "ONE Resort&Taxes fee." I pointed out to them they were putting two rates together but I was told, "No, it is ONE rate." Of course, it was two rates as anyone who can add can realize. I explained that I would be busy for the entire conference and would not be using any SKI RESORT facilities in the month of May, but they insisted. I asked what these fees fee for, and they actually said the "ONE Resort&Taxes fee" includes the.... "the cost of housekeeping." Huh? Are you kidding me? Housekeeping is EXPECTED at every hotel one ever stays. Anyway, I needed to attend the conference so I put up with this hogwash of dishonesty. Then... they took 50% of the charges for my entire visit right at the moment of reservation. This was NOT a "hold" - they actually charged my gold card. They informed me that they would charge the second half a full TWO WEEKS BEFORE the Conference. If I cancelled before that second charge, they would keep $50; but if I cancelled afterward, they would keep the first full half that they took at the time of the reservation. Again, I needed to attend the conference so I put up with this hogwash of money gaming. Because this was a conference being held in the very OFF-SEASON of a ski resort, the hotel was FAR from busy - except for other conference-attendees. When I arrived early at noon, I had to wait for my room to be made ready, so I had lunch in their restaurant/bar called "The Camp." I ordered their Camp Burger and Sweet Potato Fries (& water) both of which were absolutely delicious - rather pricey but undeniably tasty. The bill was $17.28. When adding a tip, I always make sure my restaurant tabs round to nearest dollar UP above at least 20%. So I added 3.72 to the bill for $21.00 even on my gold card. They offered to allow it as a tab on my room number, but I prefer to see every charge on my gold card statement for accounting purposes and to prevent "charge-surprises" at the end of the stay when all things get paid in full. This detail might seem trivial at this point, but its significance is coming, wait for it... keep reading. When I was told my room was ready, I asked for a late checkout for the pending Sunday. It turns out, the hotel had booked our conference which always ends at 11:00am to require us attendees to be checked out at.... 10:30! As I had a presentation to do on that very Sunday morning (requiring me to wear professional suited attire), there was no way I would be able to have time to pack up everything and then be able to leave the conference in casual clothes for the long drive back to my hometown. As I was checking IN, they told me to just call ahead on Sunday morning and ask if they could help me then. At 6:50am Sunday morning, I did as they instructed - only to learn that I would have to call back AFTER 7:00am when a Manager could make the decision in helping me. When I called back down 15 minutes later requesting the later checkout, they said they could "give me until noon." Then they added, "It will be a charge of $10 extra for that late checkout." What? I politely let it be known I was not happy about that, given that the conference itself ENDS at 11:00am. Then they "graciously" said they would forgo the charge because I was with the conference. They also let me extend the late checkout until 1pm. So, even though I did NOT have to pay the extra charge at a SKI RESORT in its OFF-SEASON, they still had to make it known as if THEY were "doing ME the favor" of forgoing the extra $10 charge. As far as I am/was concerned, they booked a conference that ends at 11am... there is no such thing as an "extra charge" for a reasonably "late checkout" after that conference ends. Now, after reading all this, you would probably think I was some kind of a "grumpy gus" during this whole weekend conference. The fact is, I was not. I had a good time. The room was clean, the food was good, the wait-staff and front desk human beings were friendly in their own personalities. So why did I feel compelled to write this extensive review here? I just got my statement from the gold card today. Remember that $21 bill I charged for the lunch on Friday, where I added $3.72 tip to the $17.28 charge so that it would be a rounded $21.00 even? They rounded THAT up to a $4.00 tip, charging me $21.28. Final straw 28cents! read more

I stayed at the Grand Summit this past weekend for a wedding. Registration went well, I went to my room later in the day. My girlfriend noticed after checking the bathroom there was left over human hair on the tub. It was disgusting. The Assistant Manager assured us it would be cleaned. We went to breakfast the next day and asked it be cleaned during breakfast. We came back and nothing had changed, when I called to the front desk, I was assured they housekeeping service had taken care of the bathroom. To make things worse, we didn't feel comfortable taking a shower. I had to go talk to the manager again, he sent housekeeping while we were in the room, the first words out of the cleaner were... I thought we cleaned this room. I've stayed at many resorts, this one failed to meet my modest expectations. I spoke to other friends at the wedding who encountered other mistakes from the administrative end of the hotel. I'm going with Air BnB next time. The Best thing about this hotel is their breakfast at CAMP. That is the only redeeming quality. read more

Stayed last weekend as a special occasion as we normally stay at Snow Cap or down in town. Less $. The reason we opted for Summit was to enjoy the hot tub and pool. We first went down at 4:30 after skiing and it was so crowded. At least 25 people in hot tub and 25+ in pool. Locker area was also too crowded. Decided to return after dinner a bit later thinking maybe less kids. At 8:00pm same problem. 20+ in hot tub but this time all 20 year old's drinking excessively. In spa area i started talking to 2 guys. They boasted about how they and their "homeboys" all crashed the hot tub. They were all employees of the mountain. There were other guest adults disturbed by this that also left. I mentioned this to the desk and they said they couldn't do anything. Next day asked for manager and he also wouldn't see me and didn't call back. I'm not against someone having a bit of fun, but this was totally out of hand. Not happy with spending and extra $75 to enjoy hot tub and not being able to or not getting a response from mgmt. read more

The woman named Kara who takes reservations is a complete jerk!! Ended up yelling at me because I was asking for her help. Seemed very offended when I did not respond to her nastiness in an eloquent way. NEVER will I book anything here. What a complete turn off!!!! read more
