I always try to support local businesses, but unfortunately, my recent visit here left me very disappointed. My boyfriend and I spent just over 40 minutes in the shop for what should have been a quick order. We were not greeted upon arrival, and the person who appeared to be the owner or manager was preoccupied making multiple shakes for her son while chatting about the new barstools she had purchased. Nearly 10 minutes passed before we were acknowledged, and another 10 before we were told she would be with us shortly. When my order was finally made, it was incorrect. Before I could let them know that I was fine with the mistake, the drink was dumped and remade, adding even more to the wait time. Unfortunately, the remake was also incorrect--this time missing the powder flavoring I had originally requested--resulting in a plain shake. Given the extended wait, the lack of customer service, and the price point, I cannot justify returning. I value supporting small businesses, but this experience demonstrated why many customers turn to chain establishments that have the staffing and systems to provide consistent service. read more

Being new to the area, I was happy to find Grand Nutrition. I looked over their menu prior and saw a list of refreshing healthy drinks and açaí bowls, so I knew I had to stop by and give it a try. Customer service was great. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and the employee told me they had two açaí bowls - a berry mix and a chocolate berry mix, I choose the chocolate/berry combo. It was prepared right in front of me with all natural ingredients and topped with coconut, granola, banana and almond butter. The açaí base was the perfect consistency - it wasn't half frozen like ice cream or overly soggy. All the ingredients on top, added the extra texture and brought it all together. It was a surprisingly big portion too for $13, and can easily be shared with two people. There is plenty of seating inside with tables and high tops, if you wanted to enjoy a drink or bowl inside. I've been looking for a good, all natural açaí bowl for a while and glad I came across Grand Nutrition! Definitely recommend and will be back to try their drinks next time. read more

My family has been a part of this amazing establishment since they opened! Meaning we go here pretty often! They are such wonderful people here the owners are truly phenomenal. They care about their employees, and the environment always feels welcoming. Everything is very clean and neat. You can call in your orders so you can pick up and pay quickly if you're on the go, even if you did not call, their service is impeccable and very quick! If you have any questions, the girls are very knowledgeable there and answer every question you have. There are yummy açaí bowls you can get here tea bombs, aloe shots. And energy teas . We've been wanting to try this place for a while, and last week I went with a friend and tried the bowl. I absolutely loved it and a few days later, I grabbed Matt, took pictures and then began shoveling spoonfuls into his mouth. But first, let's start with the fresh vibe and design of this place. Its clean, very well decorated, and "the sit at the bar" design to drink your smoothies invites a friendly atmosphere coupled with good nutrition. You know a place is doing things right when customer after customer walks in and the staff welcomes them by name and asks if they want their usual. This has happened each of the 3 times I have been here. Impressive Grand! I have tried the smoothies once and got an immunity one with every extra I could to help fight a cold and it was delicious without being chalky. We also tried the Mandarine Aloe shot which helps with inflammation, balancing PH levels, and cleans your digestive system. It was understated, simple, and very yummy. We asked if it came in a 2L bottle to take home! But they have a very wide variety of health conscious supplements, additions, smoothies, teas, oatmeals and of course, the yummy acai bowl. Yes, now onto the lovely Acai Bowl. We loved it. The acai blend wasn't too runny and the flavor was spot on. The texture wasn't icy, but nice and fresh. The toppings were a harmonious blend of everything you would want in a bowl, but what takes this vessel of goodness over the top is the crunchy granola smothered with very creamy peanut butter. Every bite begged to be covered in peanut butter and granola. The cold acai makes the PB a tad chewy in your mouth and the crunchy granola makes it exciting. It was a very balanced breakfast, and extremely satisfying. We loved everything about this place, but a little turned off on the prices. They are a bit high to make this a regular stop for us. But we know they are using quality ingredients, and stellar supplements so we absolutely understand the cost. Great job Grand, we both definitely approve! read more

Visiting from out of town and wrapped my workout at Anytime Fitness... I was looking for a spot to get a post workout protein shake and came across this amazing spot while perusing through Yelp! The owners are husband and wife and extremely welcoming and polite! Had an awesome conversation with the wife while I enjoyed my shake about the area and what brought them there. I am not sure about other people but aesthetics pulls me in... the shop is very pleasing to the eye... clean and contemporary... every detail down to the Tiffany blue straws were on point! Now onto their products... they offer smoothies/shakes, bowls, and teas. I opted for the Chocolate PB Banana Post Workout Shake on both visits -- ahhhh-mazing! It def hit the spot. I got their orange cream with strawberry. This place to me is more of a fit Jamba Juice. And by fit I mean, they make sure every shake have protein and vitamin. Staff are very kind & fit. I was so excited about a healthy smoothie bar in Gig Harbor. But sadly these smoothies are just ice, water, and a soy (terrible for your) based protein powder. The Herbalife protein powders they use are full of unhealthy ingredients such as corn syrup solids and wheat flour. I didn't think to ask if they were gluten free but they aren't. Not truly nutritious at all. Also, very sad to see how much plastic my one order used. (giant plastic straw in a plastic bag, plastic cup, plastic lid, plastic cup for an aloe shot, and plastic cup for my tea). On a positive note, the smoothie tasted pretty good, albeit a slight chemical sweet taste, tea and aloe were excellent, and the place is very cute, and the employees were very nice. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. The post workout shakes are super high protein, low carb and low fat and taste like a freaking dessert. I live in Seattle, but OMGGGG I plan to visit my parents much more often in Gig Harbor now that this place is here. The Beach Bum is the best shake I've ever had.
