Over a year and a half ago when we were beginning to consider our relocation to the Westchester…read morearea, we arranged a first property viewing and were incredibly lucky to be connected to the team of Nadia van Hauwaert and Kenny Lefkowitz. From that first meeting they began the process of helping us define our aesthetics, preferred locations, and financial parameters. When we began the house search in earnest, Nadia connected us to her NVHomes.team website and sent us property listings on a regular basis. During our tours of potential properties, there were many memorable conversations with Nadia and Kenny. They helped us understand the NY housing market, buyer-seller dynamics, and the financial realities of buying older or newer homes. They listened to our hopes for a home with more space, closer to family in the Westchester area, a place with less maintenance than the1860 farmhouse that we'd renovated for over 40 years. They factored in our goals for upsizing, for a home with character, with interesting aesthetics, with a manageable outdoor area--more interior space, less exterior upkeep. During our conversations, Nadia and Kenny never rushed us but rather continually helped us define the stronger and weaker aspects of each property. Nadia and Kenny were continually supportive as they knew this move would mean an important emotional shift from an old, beloved home to the new home in another state. It was an enormous relief that Nadia easily navigated the logistics of our pre-approval letters with our Fairway Independent Mortgage loan officer. Then she and Kenny were a great comfort when we lost bids on two homes that had seemed ideal. Throughout those months, they consistently encouraged us to remain positive and promised that we would find our "dream home." Which we did! One day Nadia sent a "coming soon" listing. We asked her to arrange a pre-Open House tour and immediately knew this was the dream house. One of the memorable highlights of that tour was Kenny's delight that we were so happy with the home that was perfect for us, more "right" for us than the two offers we'd lost. Nadia worked her magic with the pre-approval, presented our bid expressing our admiration for the home's aesthetics, and three days later, phoned us to say our offer had been accepted! She arranged the home inspections, helped us meet the seller and attorney, and constantly resolved questions, worries, and glitches. It's no overstatement to say that Nadia introduced a magical flow that reduced anxieties and helped us believe the months of search-to-closing would bring us "home." Throughout these months we relied on Nadia's and Kenny's extensive professional experience, wisdom, personal insights, and positive philosophy. In the unexpectedly hot Westchester/Putnam county markets we knew they had our best interests at heart and then by the end, we felt that our search had become a personal search for them as well. It's amazing how much a buyer has to trust, truly like, and deeply admire their real estate broker. That reality, we discovered, was a crucial aspect of this home search process which has been one of most stressful, overwhelming experiences we've known. Nadia and Kenny as a long-standing professional team have helped many clients find the right home and we join their countless other clients to say we feel supremely blessed to have been connected to them from start to finish and even afterward as they remain available to answer questions and to provide advice and lists of resources. This is a long review because it would have been impossible to write a short review of these two truly kind, wonderful people.

I was relieved the apartment was rented smoothly in a timely manner. Fast forward to 2021, my precious tenant ended the lease during Pandemic. I reached out to DD again for her help. She warned me the rental market has been extremely challenging due to the pandemic and asked me to be patient. She quickly helped me to set up the rental portal and the zillow listing. To my pleasant surprise, after less than a month of showing, the unit was rented. I am sure you know that being a "remote" landlord is very challenging, especially during the pandemic, which made it impossible to travel. DD was my trusted representative through this whole rental process. She always responds to my text or email quickly, very clear in her communications, and has gone above and beyond helping me to resolve all the issues and requests came up with the apartment. The agent was helpful and very friendly but unfortunately they use the National Tenants Network…read more(NTN) franchise to screen applicants for rentals. You have to complete an NTN application for a specific rental so if you are applying for more than one rental, you have to complete a form each time. You pay $39 per application and that is for each person living in the rental. While I was completing NTN's online application, I got a code error message a few times on some of the fields, meant for their webmaster. When my application report was sent to the realtor, it turns out NTN made a mistake (my monthly income was indicated at an amount I hadn't entered anywhere on the form - and it was FAR greater than my actual income which made it all look fishy). I had no access to my report before it was sent to the realtor to make sure it was correct. Trying to get it changed was a nightmare. NTN requires you to print an application to access your own report, attach more personal ID verification, mail it to them, and then they'll let you know within 14 days if you're eligible for a copy of your report. I actually talked to a lawyer. I had an IT technician look at the code errors I screenshot while filling out my form and she said NTN was using Cold Fushion by Macromedia which was about 11 years out of date. Now I'm worried that NTN has my SSN in this Cold Fushion database. My advice as a prospective renter is to avoid this real estate firm simply because they use NTN.
