Stayed for 3 nights in this hotel, booked through Expedia. First the good.
The hotel room was clean, and the cleaning staff deserves applause for keeping it clean.
The parking was very easy, although beware that it is on a split road.
The food was tasty.
Now the bad.
Security here is VERY bad. When you leave the hotel, you have to surrender your key to the hotel staff. When you arrive, you just state your room and they give you a key. Twice, I walked in and they just handed me a key and both times it was for a different room!!!!
Many times when I was coming and going, nobody was at the desk and all room keys are right there on the counter. It would be easy for anybody to gain access to anybodies room, and that is horrible considering the crime ratio.
The hotel is in downtown Cancun "kinda". It is in a scary section of Cancun, I should have done better research.
The "pool" is NOT a pool, it is about the size of a Jacuzzi, but air-temperature. This would have been acceptable if there was a beach anywhere close by.
The hotel charges for everything. Extra coffee from the cafe, extra towels, extra pillow, printing boarding passes, everything. Be prepared. There are two prices, peso and dollar. The dollar price is not the exchange rate multiplied by peso, its a made-up number. Pay with peso, its less than half.
There is no hotel security.
There is no gym
There is no sauna, or Jacuzzi.
The club 3 buildings down, you will hear everything.
If you have a room by the street, you will hear everything including conversations in the office.
If you choose to stay here, ask for a building in the extreme corner by cafe. read more
