My family and I stopped here for a quick lunch before heading into Arles to see the sights. It was close to 2:00, and we knew that many places would stop serving lunch soon, so this place, which doesn't close for the afternoon, seemed like a safe bet.
What a mistake. We sat for the longest time before the waiter came to take our order, and when my husband ordered in French he made a face and told him to speak English. We asked for more water - that took 20 minutes. Other parties were seated 30 minutes after us and had their food before us.
When our food did arrive is was consistently bad. Two items were OK - the two items that are hard to mess up: tagliatelle with butter and a ham & cheese sandwich. We ordered fish for one of our sons, and it was awful. My salad, chicken with artichoke, was cold and a horrible combination of flavors.
My husband's coffee never came, but it was on the bill.
Do yourself a favor - grab a sandwich or crepe and ice cream from a small take-out stand before stopping here. read more
