If you're reading this, hopefully it's prior to eating here. My review should probably be 2 stars but I'm giving it three because I didn't try the hibachi which could redeem the place. The buffet itself is 2 stars. Most of the fried food was cold, hard, overcooked, and not edible. The hot and sour soup had a strange flavor and consistency. Most of the foods were cold and we came at 5pm on a Thursday. The sushi had some bright spots but some of the others were not good. The price was horrible considering the food. We paid $100 for 5 people for terrible food. Take your money somewhere else. The only good thing, the staff were great and attentive. Otherwise I would avoid this place. read more

The reason we stopped to this location was due to the photos provided on google. Clearly we should have looked at the reviews. When you first walk in the floor was dirty. Once we sat down we noticed there was mold on the ceiling. We continued to the buffet and the experience got worse. Food was,cold, soggy, over cooked, undercooked and unseasoned. While we were eating we noticed the hibachi cook arguing with customer over in cook broccoli. While finishing up the waiter left me the tab and i decided to pay with cash. Waiter came and threw me my fortune cookie to pick up cash, waiter then proceeded to ask for a tip multiple times. Don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Didn't get much interaction with the staff due to this being a buffet, but all interactions were pleasant and nice (it wouldn't let me uncheck service for what needed to be improved). Atmosphere was nice, but the lack of decoration made it feel empty. The food wasn't the worst I've had, but wasn't good. The icecream was hard, any bread products as well as the icecream cones were stale, fried products had way too much bread and the fried seafood was soggy, the food in the "cold" section was warm and had an odd flavor to it, etc etc. The fruits on the buffet table were also COVERED in flies and two wait staff stood nearby having a conversation while a large group of flies feasted. The place also seemed a bit unclean, notably the bathrooms where multiple of the locks didn't work, the floors were unclean and had trash on them, and the soap dispensers did not work until I jostled them and pressed as hard I could. My friend caught some kitchen workers on video catching stray cats, she was able to save a momma cat and her kittens after confronting the workers. Later that day a friend of hers took a video of the workers in the kitchen outside catching a cat and taking it in the kitchen. Those poor cats. Before this my husband loved going but will definitely not be returning ever after watching the video which has been shared on facebook. This place should not longer be in business. read more

If I could rate this place a 0 I would... As soon as we sat down we noticed flys everywhere, we let the waitress know and she just said "it's ok" and walked away. As my husband and I where getting up to walk away we saw a roach coming from the bottom of the cart where the food is at, we then right away notified the waitress and showed her the roach (still crawling on floor) and all she kept repeating was "later later" and proceeded to walk away. As we where exiting the establishment we saw another roach on the food ( I took a video this time )I notified the hostess at this time and she asked if I was paying with cash or card; I explained to her that my family had not even served ourselves food nor even gotten our drinks she walked away and got her boss. Right as I was talking to the owner another family went to the hostess and showed her a picture of the roach on their table. The name pretty much says what it is for this area. If you are from out of town like I am, this is the buffet to go too. The other one that people usually go to is on 69 by the feeder next to a coffee shop with better service while this one is the step sister that has decent food but most of the times butt ugly service. There is a Hibachi grill that is part of the price along with a sushi section. You can usually find crawfish (not fresh but for included in the price it's not bad if you try to be open about it) and goes pretty fast depending on the time that you converge on the buffet pan. Parking is ample, it's a sit alone restaurant that shares nothing with adjacent businesses. The water usually taste like somebody steeped their scrotums in here (no,I do not really know personally so do't go there) so try ordering a drink even though it's about $2 or $2.50 (I forgot which but I'd bet that it's more in the $2.50 range if I recall) but at least you aren't watching floaters swim in your water. If you are lucky like I was and tried coming here on Chinese New Years do not bother, they actually close down the whole restaurant for dinner on that particular time but it only comes around once a year. Restrooms are usually pretty well cleaned and tries to have a semi fancy touch but the buffet bandits make short work of here after they leave. read more

I don't know where to start.. the old and funky looking sushi, the angry ‍ at the stir fry station (seriously he hate his life) I like stir fry because is delicious and the healthier option but the cook give me a dish with so much oil that I couldn't even eat half of it. odd taste of the sea weed salad, weird dishes that taste like old socks... The white rice was close to the ice cream machine... It's just a very odd restaurant. Needs better management for sure. read more

Updated Review 6/17 Last year we learned the Restaurant had changed Management/Owner. You could tell within a month or 2 that this was going to be the end of a GREAT restaurant. Food had lost it's flavor, was way over cooked. They actually put chicken wings on the line that were literally burned to a crisp. I used to come to this place at least once a week before the change early 2016. We moved to KS in June/16 and were really missing good Buffet food. Moved back to Groves area 1/17 and this was the 1st place we tried, and once again it disappointed so much. Now the parking lot at 12:15 is still empty, where it used to be packed come 11:05. Such a shame it went so down hill. Now I have to search al over again. Will not be returning after 2 bad trips for take out buffet. My husband and I just moved to the area , so we have been trying different restaurants. I read reviews before trying this buffet. For 7.95 you get all the buffet items, sushi, salads and the Hibachi grill. It is so far the only place we have tried that my husband actually said, ( We have got to go back to this place). He is the pickiest person when it comes to Chinese buffet, but he loved it. I did as well. Also ordered take out for my daughter, and could not believe how much food she recieved for the price. Next trip, will be trying the Hibache grill, along with all my other goodies. The honey chicken and buffalo wings were awesome. Can't wait to go back. read more

Family friends brought us here while visiting. Food was average like any other chinese buffet. Nothing special stood out(positively).Their chopped green onions for soup was not fresh nor purposely dried... it was more like whtever left over from the day prior. They also have that nasty carpet in dining area. Majority of staff were friendly, but one particular lady was obviously annoyed by any customers she had to serve (she ruined it for me). Unfortunately she also brought us our check. My sister insisted to cover the bill with her card so i wanted to take care of the tip (she just made the bill even). The same rude staff came back and insisted on a big tip, she wasn't even the staff that took care of our drinks. Pretty standard Chinese buffet that has been around for over 10 years which means that they are good at what they do and people come for the good service and clean food. I just recently found out my first time back this summer that they expanded the food options to not just sushi and chinese food but adding a little hibachi section and an actual sushi section in a corner of the buffet. You should come here for good Chinese buffet if you're a newcomer to this area because I can assure you that this is the best and clean Chinese buffet around town despite all the bad reviewers. Hmmm.. and you should come here anyways if you have a overly large group of hungry people wanting to chow down quick, especially on Sundays. I would never do business on this buffet anymore. And will never recommend this place. Food aren't that great and they will charge you more if you don't pay attention. They charge my child as adult price and add more extra charges on different stuff. Usually waitress will give you the check or total to pay and bring it to the register, but couldn't believe that what is in the check isn't final when you pay and made them see you pull out cash to pay. This is one those good solid restaurants that has made a name for itself over the past 5 years or so in the Mid-County area...they actually serve mostly Chinese food, some Japanese, and then also have the large sushi bar. Although their name seems a bit nondescriptive, the food does the talking, as you are presented with a wide array of tasty dishes to choose from. The sushi offerings are always excellent, the fish fresh, and the staff comes up with some unique and flavorful rolls, it's a treat to see what's laid out each time you go. Though the sushi is mostly the reason why I come, I also adore their hot and sour soup, and their General Tao's Chicken with the rice noodles, and the Mushroom Beef is also yummy! If you have a hankering for the fried stuff, it's there in abundance as well...great wontons and egg-rolls, and don't miss their sweet fried biscuits! Sinful, but delish! Almond cookies (sometime macaroons) and free ice-cream-in-a-cone rounds out the meal. The waitstaff is friendly and the management great, I know them all by face as are longtime visitors, and they always say hi and ask how we are doing! I wrote this back in March of 2012 and never posted it. So, I thought I should go ahead and post it. Did not like at all. Their drink prices are super high, a soda was 1.99 which I think is crazy since it was watered Down tasting. The raw meat and seafood that you could pick for the chef to cook it your way was under heat lamps...really??? I thought raw meat and seafood should be kept cold until served, skipped that section. The sushi was not good, tastes like they made it with old rice and was not fresh tasting even though the sushi chef was making it on the spot. The ice cream machine was filthy, I know they were busy but they could have at least had someone come by and clean out the drip tray ( which had three soggy cones floating in a mix of melted chocolate and vanilla ice cream). Gross!! I will say that the only good thing was our waitress she was sweet and helpful. It was not my choice of places to eat since it was a birthday party, buffets gross me out. Went last night for their dinner buffet. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The staff was very sweet; When we walked in we witnessed one of the staff at the front desk entertaining a child and offering him a piece of candy. The buffets were warm and clean as well. The sushi bar in the back was well stocked and there was someone preparing new rolls consistently. I was surprised by the variety and how well done the sushi was for a buffet. The fried crabs were small and a bit over fried. The crawfish were plump and well cooked, as was everything else I tried. There was one rib option that tasted like it was just coated in American BBQ sauce, was a surprise when I tried it. Although it tasted good, wasn't what I was expecting. With that said, they do have a few 'American' options on the buffet for picky kids, etc. Overall a great experience and will return again. read more

I stopped in for lunch today because there was a sizable number of cars in the parking lot. This is a decent buffet with fresh food. There is a sizable and fresh sushi setup and a hibachi. The buffet food is meticulously tended to and kept fresh but no particular menu item stood out and was really worth noting. However, as I was leaving they were setting up for dinner service and were putting out more seafood offerings. The atmosphere in the dining area was clean and bright, with lots of windows and LCD televisions showing ESPN. Service is good, with attentive staff who will keep your tables free of finished plates and your drinks filled, but are not particularly chatty. read more

The food here is really good, it always is. HOWEVER. When we, (my fiancé, my best friend and I, 3 women) walked in we asked for a booth but were told we were to fat to sit at a booth. Normally I'm a pretty laid back woman but my group and I were highly offended and the hibachi guy was rude as well! He didn't speak to me or my fiancé AT ALL but a man walked up and he couldn't stop talking. We love the food and the waitress is nice but we are considering not coming back. read more
