I ordered my usual favorite, the Obe Roll --a perfectly rolled beauty stuffed with spicy crab meat and shrimp, then drizzled with just the right kick of sriracha. One of my granddaughters went for the fried California roll, filled with avocado, cream cheese, and crab meat--crispy, creamy, and absolutely delicious. I also grabbed egg rolls for hubby, and everything came out hot, fresh, and spot-on as always . But listen... the true star of the night --the one we could NOT stop talking about all the way home--was their cheese-filled rangoons . This is Macy Ding's recipe, and baby... it's a flavor explosion! Crispy, golden wontons on the outside with warm, creamy deliciousness on the inside. No surprise at all that they didn't make it home to share . These bite-sized beauties are an absolute must-try--so good they're what I call "drop folk" good . My husband and I's go-to when it comes to sushi. The staff is nice and their service is quick. The food itself is phenomenal. The kind where even after you're full you wish you could eat more. I didn't think I was going to like this place, however, I ordered the Fried X'Mas Roll and Shrimp Teriyaki and was very impressed for Beaumont, Texas. Don't be put off by the fact that it's in a mall. MX Sushi is legit. The rolls were huge and beautiful and the service at the register was extremely friendly. Four stars for that. However, three of us shared four rolls, and they were a little too similar. We got the shaggy, the shrimp tempura roll, the salmon roll, and the caterpillar roll. The rolls were huge because the chef used a large amount of crab meat inside, which is generous and awesome, but that threw off the ratio of the ingredients and overpowered the flavor. If I was ordering just one it wouldn't have mattered, but because we were sharing.... I wish I could give 4.5 stars, because it was really close, and the people are really nice. This is my favorite sushi place in Beaumont and I usually eat from here at least once a week. I used to get the spicy hibachi grill, which is good and usually have me enough food to eat off of twice. Now I usually get the sushi. In my opinion, it's of comparable taste to other sushi places in Beaumont with bigger servings. I went to get sushi from Koi and while it was super delicious, I paid twice as much to get full and it wasn't twice as good as MX. read more

I don't frequent the mall food court regularly, but I just might be coming here more often now that I've tried this place. The friendly young lady at the counter recommended the Blazing salmon roll...they use a torch to lightly cook the salmon right in front of you. I also got the hibachi so I'd have leftovers for dinner, which comes with veggies and rice and/or noodles on the side. I ordered it a little spicy and I'm glad I added the "little" part in. It's the perfect amount of heat...I don't think I could handle the normal spicy and I'm usually the one asking for extra spicy. All around great place...cleanliness (as clean as a food court is going to be), friendly and knowledgable staff, and deliciously healthy food. Beaumont, you no longer have an excuse to eat a bunch of fried crap whilst shopping. read more

We weren't expecting this place to leave a good impression. We ordered salmon nigiri, which was so good! Melts in your mouth. We also grabbed a jalapeño appetizer which was even better! Other than the pieces being too big. Can't complain. And we also grabbed a flavorful roll! I don't remember the name but it had fresh tuna on top and man that was delicious. All the sushi rolls that I have ordered have been delicious. I think my favorite is the one topped with mango slices. Definitely some of the best sushi around. This place is way better than overpriced, mediocre Tokyo. It's about $10 per roll, but the rolls are pretty big and taste amazing! I have been coming here for years and hope that they never go out of business. The only con is that they are in the mall, so I would love for them to open a restaurant so that I don't always have to get it to-go. The mall is too sketchy for me to want to stay unfortunately. read more

Wife and I tried it out last week...its not bad...A little pricey for mall sushi but here in Beaumont you dont have too many choices as it is. The food was tasty and the service was good. They were pretty fast in making my rolls. Wife had some beef and vegies and she really liked it. Over all if I'm in the mall I will try it again. I am not a mall person so that is the only reason I would not go more often. That said if your in the area and you want some tasty sushi give MX a try. The food at MX Sushi is very good. But watch your bill VERY CAREFULLY. And make sure your order is correct before you leave the counter. We were seriously overcharged and the young woman behind the counter refused to even look at our receipt or hear our case. Even when the manager agreed with us and showed her where she went wrong, she still refused to admit it. I also noticed the couple after us having the same issue. When we received our order it was completely wrong. Bottom line: Great food, but some (not all) immature and careless staff. read more
