One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I spoke with Cindy from Grand Alarms, who was rude, unclear, and spoke with a condescending attitude. She mumbled, interrupted me multiple times, and offered no real help. It's evident she lacks even the most basic customer service skills. I would strongly advise against doing business with this company. I also had the unfortunate experience of speaking with Komothy from the Administrative Department, who falsely claimed to be a manager after I specifically requested to speak with one. She raised her voice during the call and eventually hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. If i could give this company zero stars, I would. Ordered full home automation, as well as wiring of network cables, HDMI, etc from Grand Alarms Ltd. 8 months before our closing date. Our closing was in March 2017. We took about 45 days to renovate some of the house hoping the wiring and Control4 installation would be done in time for us to move in, while constantly asking Jacqueline from Grand Alarms for updates. These people DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE! I have never dealt with a company that is so difficult to get a hold of. They plain and simply IGNORE you. At the start of May, Jacqueline FINALLY answered my call and scheduled our Control4 appointment for June 9th. I'd like to preface the next sentence by saying that these morons ran all of the speaker cables in the family room to the middle of the wall (looked terrible). We rerouted these cables under a cabinet in the bar. Grand Alarms "Installer" came yesterday to do the Control4 setup (I double quote Installer because I don't believe this gentleman knew much about how to actually set up such system, his name was Rolf (or Wolf?)). The same gentleman claimed that a CLEARLY blown speaker they installed was "not the fault of the speaker" when the other 4 speakers sound perfect, but the one that sounds like it's playing through a plastic bag on a windy day is "not the fault of the speaker". Great. They looked and twiddled their thumbs for a few hours, and then finally came up and said: "Oh, we're leaving". To my bewilderment, I commented on how nothing has been done, and their response was "Oh, the cables were moved so we need to get our supervisor to verify them". What does that even mean?! You're the installer, you put the cables, we just MOVED them to a spot that is actually hidden instead of the middle of the room. I call Jacqueline, which to my absolute expectation went to voicemail. I also sent her an email at this point stating I just want to cancel this because I don't believe their company can actually complete such setup, and for me to get a full refund. Her response is attached here. at 3PM on Saturday (the next day), her Supervisor has not called, showed up, nothing. I emailed her twice yesterday asking for a time, emailed and called once today, nothing. I decided to cancel and go with a different company. That was no easy feat, but after a review on HomeStars they complied. We had Control4 installed by the new dealer, and we wanted to integrate our Alarm (that Grand Alarms installed). The dealer stated that we just need to contact Grand Alarm for the key to our alarm and they can integrate it without issues. Grand Alarms, as if they were operated by a 12-year-old child, out of complete spite; said no. They wouldn't release the keys for us to integrate into control4. So as any normal person would do, I just changed Alarm companies (at my own expense), and told them since they wouldn't do that to void their contract and cancel the service. Fast forward 8 months and our central vacuum (that Grand Alarms also installed) stops working, so we call them to get someone out to look into it. They told us that because we haven't paid for the alarm service, our VACUUM'S WARRANTY IS VOID! (are you kidding me?!) a week or so after this, I get a phone call from Collections (the rudest person I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with), harassing me and my wife that we owe $2,486.00 for alarm (in 8 months?!) read more

If I could give Grand Alarms a ZERO, I would! They are a scam of a company. They have been charging my credit card for 5 years now even though I have only signed for 3 years. I continue to email them and call them requesting to cancel. They have never responded. Every time I call customer service they tell me someone will get back to me, no one has returned my calls. They keep taking my money. I've pleaded with them and said we're in a pandemic please just cancel and stop charging me. They stopped by service but continue to charge me! My husband and I moved to our new home and had a wireless system from grand alarms installed. We did not sign any contract with them as we moved our system from our old home to the new one. The service is TERRIBLE, the fire alarm from grand alarm was going off for no reason and when we called them they said it wasn't alarming (even though you could hear it ringing in the back ground) they fought with us saying it wasn't going off until we spoke with several people and they finally agreed to send a technician who had to switch out our alarm.. meaning it wasn't working since the time of installation. Next the battery died in our control panel and needed to be replaced. our alarm was sending a "tampered" signal to the monitoring station. Grand alarm didn't contact us for 4 days and did not dispatch the police despite our alarm showing it had been tampered with, I felt so unsafe after this had happened and couldn't help but think if someone broke in and actually had tampered with our alarm that Grand Alarms did not dispatch anyone when they couldn't get into contact with us! Not only has these two things occurred our alarm system is so delayed when opening the door while the alarm is set it takes over 60second for the alarm to start sounding! Lastly we have contacted grand alarms and requested to cancel in which grand alarms is stating we cannot as we are in a 5 year term. when they send us the contract we have not signed it anywhere! Not only have we not signed they also only sent us 3 out 4 pages of the contact and when we request the last page we get NO RESPONSE! I would NEVER recommend this company!! WOW, where do I begin with this company!! So I purchased a new development home over a year ago and my developer booked an appointment with this company for the wall socket installs and phone lines. During the appointment I was offered other services such as a vacuum and an alarm system. So I decided to purchase these additional products because I was told that if the rough ins are not completed while the developer is building the house then it'll be impossible to get them done after. After they installed my vacuum, the vacuum stopped working after 1 week of use. They didn't want to send a technician so I had to uninstall it myself and bring it to their location for repairs. I figured it was a defective unit so I would get a brand new one but they wanted to repair it instead. Once they repaired it, I had to pick it up and reinstall it myself again and sure enough, it still wasn't working. I was very frustrated at this point so I called them and complained and wanted one of their technicians to visit my place to repair it. The technician realized it still needed repairs but instead of repairing the unit I asked for a brand new vacuum and was given one. I was very frustrated going through this experience and thought it was over and wanted to move on. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the bigger headaches was upon me. My alarm was the other service that I decided to purchase and it was the biggest mistake ever. Initially, I didnt want to purchase the unit but I was repeatedly told that if the rough ins arent done then I cant get an alarm in the future. So I went through with the install. I wanted to make sure if I ever sell the property, I can move the alarm to a different house with no problem. I was told over the phone by one of their customer service reps that I can move the alarm to another location if I ever sell my house with no issues. However, she failed to mention that I would need to sign up for another 2 years of service or pay the installation fees. When it was time to change the alarm location, and was told this information, it was very frustrating to hear this but I wasn't surprised something like this would happen given my experience with the vacuum. I called their customer service rep again and wanted to escalated the call. I spoke with a male manager named Bav and instead of trying to solve the issue, he decided to yell back at me and complain about my problem. I realized he wouldn't be any help and had enough of him yelling so I wanted to speak with his manager. I was given his managers contact named Mark Malcolmson and although he was very polite and professional over the phone, he also didn't help me solve my problem. He told me he would call me back with a solution within a week and its been over 3 months now. I've emailed him and his customer service line multiple times and I haven't received an answer. I want to warn anyone wanting to purchase a product/service from them that once you receive their service and are have problems, you will be going through the same headaches that I am.
