While the monthly fees are fairly reasonable for the unlimited car washes, today, I had a weird experience As I'm getting ready to go through the car wash with the Acura, I asked the attendant if the self-serve vacuums were included for members of the unlimited monthly car wash fee Apparently, he didn't understand the question. Apparently, he didn't understand the assignment. What he answered was" it's $20 extra a month for the vacuum" I thought that was rather a weird response, and an absurd cost. So after the car wash was completed, I pulled a U-turn and went to check out the self-serve vacuums. The fee for using the vacuums was one dollar for a timed amount. It wasn't $20, it wasn't $20 extra per month, it was a dollar per use As much as I'm not happy with Russell Speeders Car Wash, there are many goodies they offer, including free self serve vacuum usage for a few dollars more per month and a much better experience with the attendants and goodies included. So with this said, I'm gonna go back early next week and ask one more time... What is the cost for self service vacuums, and I hope I get the correct response If you're the owner of this car wash and reading this, there are many other car wash choices that include free vacuums for its monthly members. This starts out at five stars just because it's the only magic wand car wash near me. I didn't use the attendant service. I much prefer the self service washes to the machine or 'pro' washes that never live up to advertising. With the manual washes you can see exactly what's getting clean and what needs more attention. The knocks are that the wand stalls need a lot of attention from the owners. One of them is inoperable and the second really needs to have its foam brush replaced. I was in a line of four cars (warm day after snow) and no one touched that decrepit looking brush. Also the wash is still coin operated so you need to show up with cash to buy quarters. Heck my middle of nowhere hometown wash in Oklahoma takes cards at this point. What's up with that Granby? read more

Used the self service bay that was closet to the building. The foam brush did not work so I was forced to go without that. The options take a while to kick in when you change, but my car was not able to be properly cleaned due to the broken equipment. Unfortunately, I had already loaded up the machine with quarters so I was forced to try and make the most of it. If they fix the foam brush to properly work, this would have been great but until that is fixed, avoid the self wash bay closet to the building. read more

I never write reviews but the level of unprofessionalism at Granby Auto Wash located at 116 Salmon Brook Street in Granby, CT is deplorable. I took my 2018 JCW Mini Cooper in to be washed the other day and they completely damaged the driver side front wheel. When I called them out on it, they told me there is no way their machine could have done this and I must have curbed it prior to getting the car washed. Take a look at the photo and tell me who in their right mind hits a curb and continues driving so they can have uniform damage around the wheel....I'll wait. The owner, Mark, was on vacation at the time and was supposed to call me today to resolve the matter. That call never happened (surprise, surprise) and I was forced to contact him myself and get the police involved. He even told me that the solvent used to clean wheels can sometimes strip them of paint....really. 1) why would you use a solvent like that and 2) the photos clearly show deep gouges. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR WASH AT ALL COST. IM CONSIDERING TAKING THEM TO COURT SO ILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED read more

I too am amazed at the low stars from some as this was my first time at this car wash and I was very impressed. When it comes to cleaning, I am very much OCD and the cleanliness of my cars is nothing short of that. These guys hustle and still do a fantastic job without cutting corners! They thoroughly wiped my car down, leaving no water spots to dry and cleaned my rims immaculately! Also, this is probably the only car wash that applies tire dressing with a brush, which makes it apply evenly and reduces sling. I'd highly recommend this car wash as I've found it to be one of the best in the state, and certainly the best I've found in Hartford and New Haven County! read more

I've never been a fan of Granby Auto Wash but it's so close to the grocery store and my parents house, that we go here out of convenience only. They have a bunch of kids working here which is fine, but the quality behind their work ethics is minimal. The sign says vacuum, yet the kids working quickly vacuum over the mats, failing to remove them to get underneath and around the carpets. When asked of they would remove the mats to vacuum, one of the kids says "well, we lift them up". Fab. Watching my parents car coming through, I saw an employee spraying down the inside windows, as it was rolling on the tracks, from the front seat. If anyone knows anything about a spray bottle, they know the mist goes everywhere if not close enough to hit whatever you are spraying. Needless to say, whatever products they use go all over the interior. To add insult to injury, the owner or manager is outside gabbing away, not paying attention to anything. When we got in the car, it was as though we didn't just pay to have it cleaned as there was dust everywhere, the seats weren't vacuumed and there were puddles of water on the floor mats. Fantastic. STAY AWAY!!! I was immediately harassed when I pulled up by multiple employees repeating "Take care of ya boys, right", in an odd and almost threatening tone as they demanded tips before they even touched my car. So I said I'd "take care of my boys" after they did the job. Apparently they didn't like this. I'm assuming that is why they barely did anything. When I went inside the man behind the desk spent most of his time arguing with the employees instead of taking care of his customers. The car was still dirty when I picked it up, but I was too busy to stay and complain. After driving away I noticed they didn't even attempt to clean the windows at all. Then I notice this morning that my rear wiper has been ripped off. I have no proof they did it, but as it's been raining for days and I've been using it regularly up until yesterday, it's a pretty safe assumption. $75? For what? read more

I thought I'd give this place a shot because it's so close to my house. I was extremely disappointed overall. The outside looked good, but the vacuum barely touched the inside. I worked in car rental for years. It doesn't take long to efficiently clean a car, especially when there's more than 2 people working on it. Employees need to be trained on what the car should look like after a customer pays for a wash. read more

Very close to a 5 star--I'm very surprised at the negative reviews. I'm sure it's not a glamorous or well paying job, but the guys were as nice as they had to be. More importantly, they were short staffed and still did a wonderful job. I have never seen my car so well vacuumed. Even the crevices were all cleaned (that sounds so gross). When I do it myself it looks alright, but they did a fantastic job. I opted for the $20 wash for my four door hatchback. The tires looked so good. There were some streaks on the windows here and there, but I admit, when I've done it, it never comes out perfect, no matter how hard I've tried. The lady in charge of pay out was very nice too. The waiting area was nice and comfortable, though I still sat outside to soak up the sun. For how much it costs, they definitely delivered a great quality wash, vacuum, and polish. I'm returning and told a few friends about it as well! read more

Good car wash but the one thing that drives me crazy is they don't have two lanes into car wash bay. If you want just a wash, you have to wait behind all the cars being vacuumed. Big time waster and really annoying. read more

Stay away from this car wash. Their brush wand was low on soap and as a result, there are scratches all over my car. I called and spoke to the receptionist and asked if they could buff out the scratches, she said "Sure bring the car down." I met with the manager who was a young, sarcastic punk. He said the receptionist did not tell me to bring the car down, he was standing next to her when I called. He inadvertently called me liar. I asked if they could just buff down the scratches from my hood. He said that it would take four to five hours and they did not have time. He said I could easily take out the scratches myself with compound. I purchased compound and unfortunately they did not come out. I called back and spoke with the receptionist. She accused me of scratching the car up myself and said I was washing my car without putting change in the machine. I told her that this wasn't true. I put quarters in the machine, however, the brush was running low on soap. She yelled at me and hung up. I called back in a polite and calm manner and said I have been to other carwashes to have scratches buffed out and it did not take four to five hours. I have been bringing all my cars to this car was for many years. BOY has it changed! I will not be returning as my car was being vacuumed, the man in the wheelchair didn't stop the conveyor belt and the 2 cars hit, I heard yelling saying 3! 3! I think that meant it happened 3 times but I'm not about to go back and find out... He was too busy watching a tablet and listening to music. It shocks me how unorganized and dirty this car wash is. I get my car washed every couple of weekends there because with TJ Maxx right there as well as Dunkin its hard to pass it up. This place hasn't changed in years and could use a renovation. The employees are alright, but the boss who is always yelling and walking around is ridiculous. Never have I heard someone be so loud and rude at a place of business; let alone a car wash. Not to say this place isn't a "business", they do usually have a line and i bet they do pretty well. It's located in a very convenient location so I can't complain. But if you get the cheapest option you are better off going to one of those automated car washes; it's cheaper and you don't have to tip. Also I have an issue with their overall system. I have read reviews on google where customers have complained of some 'tap-tap' aka bumper cars at this business. It's an automatic wash - the cars go through the wash via conveyer and then the cars are wiped down manually. Now they send cars in one after another but depending on how busy it is once a car gets to the end of the wash the cars can get extremely close to one another if an employee doesn't move the car at the end. Once the car gets to the end someone has to get into the car and drive it outside to dry it. I absolutely hate seeing cars get close to my car - they don't seem to pay attention to it either. So I usually just watch and make sure if it gets too close I tell an employee. read more

My wife and I have brought cars here in the past and the wash has been adequate while the guys drying the card clearly work hard getting the cars dry. I brought a new car in to wash the road salt off. Imagine my surprise when I look at the front of my car and see scratches in the gel coat from the brush the guy used to apply soap. These are large, obvious, and being a gel coat on the plastic nose of the car, can't be repaired with touch up paint. I do not know what they were thinking but using a brush the size of a push broom to wash your car is just stupid, especially when the guy could not control it. I revert going there and we'll not make that mistake again. read more
