My child attended this center for midway through pre-k. The staff is wonderful, the facility is clean, and food is provided for the children. I was impressed that light homework was provided during the school year which helped my child with their writing. The summer program was awesome! They had petting zoos, foam dance parties, ice cream trucks, and weekly water play. As a bonus Mr Bill and his writing kit was so impressive and again helped my child so much with their writing! The director is very responsive, considerate, and professional. The PreK teachers were also wonderful and my child was sad to go. Lastly, the parking lot is large with big spots which is so helpful. I highly recommend Kindercare in Granada Hills and wish I sent my child here sooner. read more

All 3 of our children have attended Kindercare and it has been an absolute blessing to have the same teachers for all of my children. We feel like family here. What a joy it is to see how much the teachers truly know and care for your children. My youngest daughter broke her nose last year and they made special accommodations to have more eyes on her and avoid her playing outdoors where she would run, which is something I feared due to the sensitivity of her nose. Her teacher literally texted me every day with updates. I knew she was safe and nothing is more assuring than knowing your children are in great hands, always. "KinderCare Review: Safety Concerns and Emotional Trauma for My Child" Note: I hesitated to post this review because I wanted to be fair. We didn't remove our child from this center sooner because we felt trapped. Prior to KinderCare, my child attended Bright Horizons, where he was unfairly targeted and pressured to undergo unnecessary testing. Even after confirming he was not autistic, the targeting continued, forcing us to switch to KinderCare when no other centers had openings. By the time we realized how problematic this center was, we were two months away from kindergarten and felt we had no other choice. Looking back, I regret not removing my child sooner. As a new parent, I want to emphasize: you don't have to feel trapped like we did. Learn from our mistakes and avoid this place. Even now, my child occasionally remarks that "they have bad teachers," and it's clear he's still working through the trauma. Ideally, KinderCare should reimburse us for at least half the time my son was there. For now, all I can do is share our story in the hope that it helps others. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The (few) Positives: Mr. Bill: A retired educator who enriched the after-school program by engaging kids in meaningful activities and using his own money for classroom materials. Summer Activities: Thoughtfully planned events, like pony rides, foam parties, and Kona Ice visits, which my child enjoyed. ***The (many) Negatives: 1) Physical Safety Concerns: *Broken glass near the entrance wasn't cleaned for days until I complained. *My purse was stolen from the parking lot, an issue the director knew about but failed to inform parents. *Roaches were seen inside the facility, especially near the kitchen area. 2) Psychological Harm: *One teacher unfairly targeted my child, calling him demeaning names like "stupid" and singling him out during events. *The teacher, Ms r, fabricated reasons to call me to pick him up, citing issues like shoes that allegedly didn't meet policy, even though other children wore similar footwear. 3) Nap Policy: The center forced naps on children and frequently called parents to pick up kids who wouldn't nap, causing unnecessary stress. 4) Lack of Leadership: The director failed to address major concerns or follow through on promises to resolve issues. ~~Conclusion: Despite KinderCare's convenient location and occasional highlights, such as Mr. Bill and summer activities, the severe safety, hygiene, and emotional well-being issues cannot be overlooked. My child is still working through the trauma he experienced, and I deeply regret not removing him sooner. As a new parent, I encourage you to learn from our mistakes. I wouldn't recommend this place. My infant had 5 incidents occur within 1 month of attending this daycare. The infants are crying as soon you walk in with snot running down their noses. For the high price, I expected better quality care for any child attending this place. The only good thing is that they are open until 6pm for working parents. KinderCare Granada Hills has been great for our family for the last 3 years. Our daughter enjoy going to "school" as she calls it to play and learn with her friends. As parents, we appreciate the app that is used that provides us daily updates on our child's activities and sometimes they include photos which capture the moments. A review 4 years in the making! Due to privacy I did not want to post this until my daughter was out, so I am now posting as she has officially graduated from KinderCare. She attended from 7 weeks old until age 4 and some change (almost 4 years). From the beginning, our experience has been nothing but positive. Kiddo was treated so well in the infant room and given plenty of opportunity for growth and learning as she progressed throughout the different rooms. I greatly appreciate the teachers providing feedback and areas for growth for my kid as well as teaching her so much. I was definitely anxious to entrust my child with them in the beginning, but that anxiety disappeared almost immediately. They communicate frequently and often through the app and I never was worried about my daughter's safety. I've appreciated the fun activities they host for families as well like the Easter egg hunt or Halloween fair. I highly recommend KinderCare to any parent looking for a warm and nurturing environment. I know her learning here is setting her up for success as she transitions to TK. Take this from a mom & dad who were extremely nervous for the transition from a home daycare to an actual setting, took us more than a year to actually pull the trigger on this decision but I must say it's the BEST decision we have made as parents. From the director Mrs. Thania to Ms. Monica, his teacher, they have made us and our LO really comfortable. My LO has only known his in home sitter so he was definitely hesitant of new people. But all of his teachers have made him really comfortable now he runs inside to play and says & waves mom good bye. The one thing I will say is that the teachers need an extra pair of hands, he was bit the first week of school and his water bottle and couple clothes items have been lost. My boys have been going here since they were 9 months and I can't complain, the attention that was given to me as a parent from the very beginning was very re assuring and positive. They went from infant teachers all the way to the four year old room. Ms. Thania and Ms. Juliett have been very supportive with every milestone and transition. As a first time parent, it's very scary to have your child be in someone else's care. My little guy started with them around 4 months old. Kindercare made me feel so much at ease! They send you pictures of your LO through their app along with their food intake & diaper changes. Their infant room teachers are great! Ms Linda was always so transparent & helpful with everything. We appreciate her along with all of the infant room teachers so much. They contributed in reaching milestones fairly quickly. He was crawling around 5-6 months old & started taking his first steps around 10-11 months old. The art projects & sensory play that they do are so awesome. I loved getting all the art projects & have kept every single one. Another mention is the love I felt from everyone in the facility. All teachers knew my son's name, even the ones that weren't his home room teachers. This is the worst place to take your child. My grandson has been yelled at weekly by teacher. His graduation was ruined because she was stressed out, the kids were all being kids, but my grandson was the only one yelled at. He was almost in tears and was afraid to even talk to the other kids after that. When approached and asked why my grandson looked so sad, she admitted to being stressed and yelling at him. She never once apologized to him. On numerous occasions while in my care, he would sit and look really sad while playing. I asked him what's wrong and he said he was a "dummy and a loser." I asked him why he thought that and he said that his teachers called him that and so the kids call him that as well. No teacher should be able to verbally abuse your child, especially at this age. I wrote a letter to the director, and talked to her on the phone. She said she would talk to her and have her take a class. Nothing changed and seemed to get worse. I now have a call into the headquarters as these teachers need to be reprimanded. There are better places to take your child where you won't have to worry they're being mistreated. They don't seem to take these complaints and concerns seriously. read more

My daughter we have had enrolled there on the full-time schedule for over 3 years and my son we have had enrolled there on the full-time schedule for over 1.5 years. All the teachers have been amazing! We really appreciate all of them and there are too many names to list them all. Overall, we are highly satisfied from the Center Director Ms. Thania all the way to down to the part-time teachers. They care about your children, and this is not just a daycare. They interact with our children and my children would not be developmentally where they are at without Granada Hills KinderCare. My oldest daughter has been coming to KinderCare for almost a year now. I've seen so much growth in her. Especially in her language. She absolutely LOVES it. I also love that they do so many different fun activities in the summer time. They have Kona Ice, foam parties, movie days, and so much more. All the staff is amazing. I am taking the time to write this so other parents are aware of our experience and take it into consideration before deciding to enroll. I've kept notes about the statements that have been said to me so I can report them as accurately and objectively as I can even though this was a very emotionally taxing experience. We pulled our 18 month old son out after 3 weeks. Maybe if your baby is used to daycare and being cared for by multiple people, this center will work for you. However, it seems like they are unwilling to really understand children who struggle in the beginning to get used to a new environment. My son has been raised at home and this was his first daycare experience. 1. The teachers in the Toddler B room were the most problematic. Miss Isabel, the lead teacher, barely spoke to me whenever I was in the room, rarely smiled and spoke very quietly. She has a somber presence which I thought was odd for a toddler teacher. Her and the assistant would go from one activity to the other without a lot of verbal engagement with the children so it felt like the kids were mostly playing on their own. There was no verbal positive encouragement. There was one time I observed a teacher from the Toddler A room who was helping out temporarily in the B room and she was speaking in loud, clear words and would engage with the children, saying things like "Are you cooking something? Put it on the plate" or "Are you placing a blanket on your doll? It's time for her nap isn't it?" She would talk to me too. This Teacher A was the most energetic and also wished us goodbye with a positive attitude (the B teachers said things to my son like "Don't give your next daycare such a hard time!"). Perhaps if Teacher A was our son's main teacher we would have stayed at this daycare. Miss Isabel is good with the toddlers that are quiet and are used to daycare life but she cannot handle children who may need more TLC. The teachers make the biggest difference. 2. The teachers blamed my breastfeeding for my son's behavior and refusal to eat. One morning my son was having a particularly difficult time at drop-off so I breastfed him discreetly in the corner of the room. When I came to pick him up after lunch the teachers asked me if he ate solids at home, which I thought was an odd question to ask of an 18 month old. His weight is above the 90th percentile; the kid has a good appetite! Then they proceeded to conclude that because I breastfed him in the morning (9am) he wasn't eating at lunch (11:45am). The next day Miss Isabel told me it's better to leave him immediately rather than to stick around in the mornings (so much for an open door policy and the option for parents to stay around as long as they want) so I followed her suggestions, mostly because I did not feel welcome anymore to stay in class. 3. Every meal time I've observed in person (at least 5), my son was the only one that was never given a bib or mess shirt. I didn't want to get confrontational so I never asked them upfront about why that was. 4. Miss Isabel let me know that on his last day he cried when they were outside (the only time he usually wasn't crying) because the day before I came out to the yard so he expected me to come around again. I did this so I could help him calm down before lunch time so he could eat with everyone instead of crying as usual and leaving traumatized everyday. So she blamed me for coming out to the yard as the reason why he was being fussy. 5. They kept pressuring me to start using a pacifier. He's never used one before. 6. I always provided alternative milk as he has a dairy allergy. The first week they did serve him his milk but by the second and third week they only gave him water when the other kids were drinking their milk. They didn't take the extra effort to go to the fridge to get the milk I bring. 7. At morning drop-off the last day Miss Isabel said to my son "you should be happy it's your last day here." I didn't respond because I had no idea what to say. There are things you shouldn't say even if you think it. 8. The lunch menus they had posted in the hallway was from fall 2018 and we were there September 2019. We were impressed by the facilities, the menu and the fact that they had an app where we would receive updates and photos everyday. However, I've learned that it's the teachers that make the classroom. Don't let everything else fool you. My son is at another daycare and he is doing so much better. The teachers there are so wonderful and really take the time to respond to his needs and he has blossomed so much. Great Pre-k program! Ms Brenda is great with the kids. The center is well kept, clean and very nice. I prefer a center such as this vs one in someones home. The accreditation is important as well when preparing for Kinder. Thania, the director is present through out the day and always kind and informative. LOVE LOVE LOVE, this Kindercare. All of their teachers are just amazing. My oldest has been there going on 3rd year and my infant son just started a few months ago. My oldest had a difficult time adjusting to this new school when he first started and the teachers all went above and beyond to make him feel welcome. They treat all of their kids like its one of their own. It makes me feel good that when I leave my child he is in good hands and they will do everything to make them feel comfortable. Today is my daughter's last day at KinderCare, and she is very sad. She has been there since she was 13 months old, and for 4 years, the center and teachers have loved her and helped her thrive. She has blossomed into a confident, loving, well-educated girl who is more than ready for kindergarten. In fact, KinderCare and her teachers helped both my daughter and my son, who was there before her, get accepted into the advanced studies program in kindergarten. My son just finished 2nd grade and is still thriving in the program 3 years later. KinderCare is nationally accredited in early childhood education, and the foundation they have helped my children build has set them both up for lasting success. In addition to the stellar education, they have helped both of my children develop their character. My daughter is amazing, but she is 4 and, as all children, can have her moments. Every time she has said or done something she should not have, not only did they redirect her in a positive way, they also let me know in a sensitive manner so I could address it at home and reinforce the need to develop and demonstrate behaviors that help others. Both of my kids are extremely loving and giving, and while KinderCare is not solely responsible for that, they did have a hand in developing and reinforcing these traits. At 2 years, my daughter was being bullied by one girl in her class. When I threw a fit, the director and teachers were extremely receptive to my complaint and came up with a solution that worked very well for my daughter. In fact, it was her teacher who also threw a fit and worked really hard to ameliorate the situation. The school also worked with the bully and the bully's family. Within about 6 months, the bully had changed. I had very strong reservations about the bully being back in my daughter's class, as she had aged up into the 3 year-old room, where my daughter had been since my complaint. However, whatever KinderCare and the bully's parents had done had worked, and my daughter became very good friends with the former bully. I was very worried at first, but the situation proved itself to be fixed and my concerns were now unfounded. Back in 2017, when I was looking to change preschools for my children and we toured KinderCare, the lead teacher, Ms. Jessica addressed my son, commented on his superhero jacket, and asked him questions about himself before ever addressing me. This told me her interest was in my son, where it should be, as he would be the student, and gave me confidence that my children would be well-cared for. That confidence only grew as the tour continued, and it has continued to grow for 5 years as I have watched both of my children thrive. My son is on the ASD spectrum, and even though he didn't have his diagnosis in preschool, they could tell he was unique and catered to that. I have read many of the negative reviews about this school, and I adamantly and unequivocally state that these reviews have been the antithesis of my children's (and my) experiences. My kids have been loved, well-cared for, and well-educated, even with my son's unique needs. And their long waiting list, esp. for infants and toddlers (it took an additional 6 months to get my then infant daughter in as a toddler, and my then 3 year-old son took the last spot in his class) is evidence of their efficacy and excellence as a preschool. Whenever a colleague asks me for preschool recommendations for their children, I immediately give them KinderCare's number and gush over the amazing care and education my children have gotten. And for those parents who are skittish about what their children are doing all day (me), the school has an app that allows you to track your child's activities and progress throughout the day. My advice: if you're pregnant, get on their waiting list now. Moving my kids to KinderCare Granada Hills was the best move I have made as a mom. The children that come from here do not get what they pay for and do not have any concept of structure and rules. Parent should be aware for the amount of money they spend what they should be getting. children at this age are sponges and should be learning their alphabet, numbers, how to behave in school, how to write their abcs, etc... ...not-not-not jump from teacher to teacher, roll on the rug all day, play with the same toys all day, etc... i'm just so disappointed with the children that come from this preschool. As a first time mom, leaving your child to a bunch of strangers is daunting! Fortunately we found kindercare. My LO started at 8 months in the infant room with Ms Linda! I called for my infant son they told me they have a waiting list of 6months for infants & waiting list. I said put me on the waiting list and they took down my information and put me on the list, I called them a few months ago and they told me that it's whoever puts down a deposit & on the list will get a call back I said no one never told me to put a deposit down! They put me on the list so it's going on 9months still waiting I miss my place because they were calling people who put down the deposit and never mention to me about it, gave me a paper with the full-time & part-time prices. Not many African Americans but a diverse bunch. After a few months of dropping my daughter of there I had hoped to get better acquainted, like any other parent. On the way from work felt that something was wrong. My mother would pick her up when I worked late. I walked in to kitchen headquarters to find my child shaken , scared, and slightly yelled at at upon arrival from school she was eating fruit to calmed. I panicked and couldn't believe that they carelessly harmed her, her face had been cut upon the left side. I immediately went in to the school to find the staff member panicking herself. We left the school permanently. But I still felt violated. I don't recommend child care for young children like i did. Should I have made a police repot and sued for child endangerment? To begin, I am a teacher and thus quite picky about my daughters' preschool education. Too often, places that call themselves educational are nothing but glorified daycare centers. Granada Hills Kindercare is truly a unique educational center which prepares children for public school - otherwise, I would not have kept my daughters here! We have been a part of this center since 2009 when we enrolled my oldest daughter at age 8 months. At first I was leery - as any new mother is in this situation - but the fantastic staff quickly assuaged any fears. Mrs. Lana in the infant room is caring and highly competent; she taught both of my daughters sign language! In the "One Year Old" room is Ms. Valerie, Ms. Caroline, and Ms. Jennifer - women who possess caring, patience, and the skills necessary to teach these young children. Ms. Lucy and Ms. Jackie in the Discovery Preschool room are excellent teachers; they utilize multiple modalities to enrich their lessons and engage their charges. And Mrs. Linda, Mrs. Keitra, and Mrs. Jessica take their responsibilities as educators seriously, teaching the children both the basics along with higher-level critical thinking skills. The management of this center is exceptional, as well. Ms. Ana and Ms. Thania are personable and run the center with efficiency. They are understanding and flexible and have always worked with my family whenever unexpected needs and circumstances have arisen. Under their guidance, the center feels more like a community; the children perform in seasonal concerts, and special family events like the Halloween party and the Easter Egg Hunt allow parents to meet other families and forge friendships. Moreover, they follow protocol exactly - the center has regular safety drills and parents are apprised of everything from an outbreak of pink eye to the location of every fire extinguisher in the place. If you are searching for a true learning center, this is the best in the area. The facility is clean and secure, the staff is welcoming and competent, and your child will leave here prepared for school and excited about learning. read more

I absolutely love this KinderCare. My oldest has been at this facility since she was 1.5yrs, she graduated at Pre-k and is now in kindergarten at an elementary school. She loved this facility, the teachers & staff were always welcoming and always kept in touch with the parents. My youngest daughter was there for 2yrs, she is now 2yrs old. Unfortunately, we moved and I was unable to keep her there. It was a hard move for us. She had the same teachers her sister had. They watched them grow and truly a blessed our lives. Granada Hills KinderCare has always been there for our family for the past 2 1/2 years. This place is truly a gem. My two babies have been coming here since they were 3 months old. I was very skeptical about leaving my children in the hands of strangers but the staff definitely put that fear to rest. Ms. Lana, Ms. Yogi and Ms. Deanna in the Infant room are caring and loving, my babies were in good hands. The teachers in the One's class are amazing too (Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Caroline, Ms. Valerie, Ms. Ruth) as are the teachers in the Discovery Preschool class (Ms. Keitra and Ms. Claudia). Every staff that I've encountered has be wonderful. If there were ever any issues that came up, the Director, Ms. Ana and Assistant Director Thania took care of right away. The center is very clean and secure. I couldn't have picked a better place for my children to be cared and loved for. read more

What a great experience we have had at Kindercare. Teacher Lucy welcomed our daughter into the classroom with open arms. My daughter can't get enough of her lol. Everyone greets you with a smile and all the teachers there make my daughter feel special. She's learning so much and has such a great vocabulary thanks to everything she's taught. read more

Kindercare has always been their for my daughter. She had been going there since she was 2 and even though now she goes to another school now when she has a break Kindercare has been there for us when we needed them. I been a big fan of do not burn any bridges. Clearly others have had issues here but all you have to do is be real nice and things will work out. I love the staff they are really friendly and take great care of the kids. The security is great. I have scene many times when an unfamiliar face comes in they are questioned right away. Horrible place, they reported my last posting. I'm not sure why when the point is to leave a review of your experience of a business. Again, this is a horrible place only designed to take your money. They had all parents sign a form letting us know that a staff member had CPS called on them for mishandling their child at the school. A couple occasions my child came home and reported how the teacher hit her and pulled her hair. The district manager, Tina is very unprofessional and rude as well. read more

These people are a waste of money. My daughter complained on three different occasions that her teacher was hitting her. My kids only lasted about a month here because the staff are incompetent in dealing with children who may give them a hard time. All they talk about is money and its just a complete waste of time. My daughter has been at this location for almost 3 years now and loves it. Her current teachers, Ms. Linda and Mr. Ricardo are amazing and are constantly finding creative new ways to keep the kids interested in learning (phonics lessons, art projects and interactive story telling to name a few). They recognize that each child is an individual and are very sensitive to their wants and needs. My daughter is advanced for her age, and I can say with confidence that her teachers here played a huge part in that. Ms. Claudia in the toddler room is the most patient woman I have ever met in my life and all of the kids adore her. I have personally never encountered a problem that was not resolved immediately through open communication with the teachers and the center directors. Tina the District Manager was very proactive in helping resolve an issue we had with another child earlier this year. I highly recommend this particular location- especially for parents looking for a more education driven form of daycare. read more

My daughter started with Granada Hills KinderCare when she was 4.5 mos old. As most parents would agree, it's the hardest thing to do to drop off your seemingly fragile infant at a daycare but we have been so lucky with our choice. All of the teachers and staff have been beyond supportive, accommodating and involved in our daughter's experience. Throughout that first year, you are essentially co-parenting with these infant teachers as your baby transitions quickly through many milestones. Each and every teacher took the time to walk me through what was working and what needed to be changed. As a new mom who freaked out over every fever, bump and cough, they patiently made recommendations and made sure my daughter was comfortable whenever she was ill until I could come pick her up. That peace of mind was the the most important as a busy working mom with lots of responsibility. In addition to the great child care, Ms. Yogi, Ms. Deanna and Ms. Monica are always leading amazing arts and crafts...my best Mother's Day card was the one they made for me with Harper's footprints! Plus, they take pictures of the kids all day participating in different activities and send them home with the parents. And Ms. Jennifer has been fantastic as we've begun to transition into the next room. It's been a wonderful experience and I'm forever grateful to the amazing staff and their support during that crazy first year of parenthood. read more
