We've had an amazing experience at Casa Montessori. The campus is beautiful, and the classrooms feel calm, welcoming, and true to the Montessori approach. The teachers are incredibly warm and caring. My shy daughter quickly felt comfortable, and my son loves going every day. On harder drop-off mornings, Ms. Gisselle meets us at the door and lovingly helps my son through the transition--it makes such a difference. We've seen real growth at home--more focus, independence, and a natural interest in reading and writing. The individualized attention, and caring stand out. Ms. Kiara took extra time to support my daughter, and Ms. Emely made her mid-year classroom transition smooth and positive. I also love the ClassDojo updates--they keep me connected to their day. Most importantly, my kids run in happily every morning and come out just as happy, always telling me they had a great day (and always stopping to hug the staff on the way out). The most incredible preschool environment for any child. Nurturing and loving. Every morning our teachers - Ms Maryam and Ms Silvia - greet each child with love and attention, it's really incredible to see. Montessori was a concept we knew about but didn't really understand the impacts until seeing it in action. Our child has developed SO much while being here - self confidence, self direction, literacy and fine motor skills. The classrooms are impeccable and well kept, the learning instruments and tools the kids work with are engaging and so organized. Kids get art, library, and music time every week. The curriculum is well thought out. They offer after school care and enrichment programs like soccer, gymnastics, science and provide lunch on Fridays (at a cost). Administrative staff - Principal Ms. Mo and Ms. Roshi - are incredible. They are also great at prioritizing health in the classroom, so sick kiddos are picked up when appropriate and don't get other teachers and kids sick too. We truly love Casa Montessori. My older child attended, and now my youngest is there, which says a lot about how much we trust and value this school. The staff is amazing, so warm, approachable, and they really take the time to know each child and family. My son is in Room 1 with Ms. Kiara and Alina, and he absolutely adores them. Casa Montessori is such a Gem! I heard lots of good reputations from other parents. And when we got a tour my son immediately loved this school. I've been tour many school, most have small lot and cover everywhere with cement. Casa Montessori has beautiful gardens and lawns, with tall trees around providing shade, very beautiful!!! Kids enjoy outdoor time a lot! Besides, the teachers and office executives ( Mrs. Roshi is very nice!!) are excellent!!! Especially Room 1 teachers Ms. Kiara! She is knowledgeable and very patient. My son got in when he was 2.5 years old, he couldn't talk and was very shy. Ms. Kiara gave him lots of love and guidance, within 2 weeks he became very comfortable and looked forward to going to school everyday. Ms. Kiara gave solid structure of class which follow the real Montessori concept. Kids learn a lot based on hands-on experience. And it's a mixed age class, which my son benefited a lot. When he was the youngest age, he got cared and helped by the older kids, and he learned very fast from them. Now he is 4 became the oldest group in the class now, he is helping the younger when playing and learning. It's such amazing to see kids learning social skills and knowledge in such a nature way. He used to be labeled by pediatrician as late in speech kid, required to see speech therapist, now he talks a lot!!! The school constantly holds events like celebration of Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween and Christmas performances. We feel so blessed to have Casa Montessori in our community! Both of our kids started their education here and I believe the experience helped establish an early love of learning for them. What drew us to this school initially was the school's adherence to Montessori teaching since most of the preschools we were visiting had a more hybrid approach. Once our first child started attending the school, we loved how warm and welcoming the staff is, and how the staff continues to find new ways to build community among families. We have loved our time at Casa Montessori. We sent both of our boys for preschool and it was a wonderful experience for our whole family. The school is beautifully maintained, with an emphasis on outside time and natural grass, no artificial turf. The kids are encouraged to play and get dirty, not just sit inside with worksheets. It's a welcoming school that celebrates all holidays and encourages families to participate as much as they can. Ms. Kiara has had my younger son for 2 years and she has worked so hard to help his language develop and strengthen his school readiness skills. As well, she has cared for him and helped him learn how to calm his emotions and use his words to express himself. The grounds are beautiful and the classroom surpasses any classroom environment I've seen in any other preschool in the valley (and I've toured them all). The teachers are kind and patient and devote themselves to teaching children at their own individual pace. My oldest son went here from 2.5 up until going to TK, and he was more than ready and confident entering public school. (I wish I kept him here another year just for the amount of things he learned from his teachers). My second son went there from 2.5 and has come leaps and bounds. The TEACHERS truly make this school what it is- Ms Kiara and Miss Aina are such kind, understanding and patient teachers. If you care about your child, please read this review to the end. I am honestly surprised by the positive reviews for Casa Montessori, because our experience was completely different. This was the worst school we could have chosen for our child, especially considering we were paying monthly tuition. We initially chose this school because, in the first two months, they brought in an excellent teacher who was everything you would want for your child. However, they later let him go, claiming they did not have enough students or funding. We even offered to cover the difference to keep him, but they refused. Instead, they merged classes, and we were forced to deal with another teacher for the rest of the year: Her approach felt more like a military environment than a Montessori classroom. My child later revealed that students were punished even for yawning and made to sit on a bench for two minutes. This is completely unacceptable for young children. She also did not allow children to freely choose educational materials in the class, which goes against Montessori principles, and the kids said they never even saw her smile. All students from first to fourth grade had no choice but to be in her class. We complained multiple times to the administration, but nothing changed. My child cried every morning before school, and I saw other kids crying too, something I have never seen even in public schools. We could not change my son's school because it was too late, after they misled us with a good teacher. Even now, after moving to a good school this year, my child is still telling me about the frightening experiences at Casa Montessori. I deeply regret ever sending my child there and allowing him to spend a year of his precious life feeling distressed and traumatized. If you care about your child's well-being, avoid this school. Even low-rated public schools would be a better option. Do not make the same mistake we did. read more

Casa is a fantastic place to learn and have fun! We were so lucky to have found this place for our 4 yr old when we moved to CA last year! Our son had the best time of his life at Casa and Ms. Maryam made it special! Our son loved going to daycare everyday and had tons of fun playing and learning! The Montessori system is the best for toddlers and young kids and we saw that in practice for both of our sons. My 4 year old son has been attending for 2 years and will stay for another year. I absolutely love this school and staff. He has had a wonderful experience with the teachers and educators. It's a small tight knit school that focus on true Montessori education and child centered play. I love how much he has learned through play. All the teachers are sweet, kind and genuinely concerned about each child's development. We've had Ms Kiara and Ms Shana, both are absolutely wonderful and kind teachers. They have everything a child could need.... From music class, gardening for the kids to after school activities. The classes are beautiful, clean. The playground is updated with a covered awning, there are outside gardens for the kids. The school is gated for safety and you can't see the play yard from the street so the children have privacy. There is a Music room, auditorium for their school play, and even after school gym class if you want to join. I also love that they have a very small child to teacher ratio. My child gets individualized attention and it shows in how much growth he has had these last two years. He genuinely looks forward to school everyday. Even though he is eligible for public school TK this coming year, we have opted to stay at casa because it's genuinely such an amazing school and I think he will continue to thrive. We are in our third school year at Casa Montessori and we love it. I have two kids attending now, so we've experienced all three of the preschool teachers--Ms. Kiara, Ms. Maryam, and Ms. Shana--and they are all superb! You really can't go wrong with any of the them. Highly recommended! We are just happy to come across this school while we were looking around. Our decision not to move first and take our daughter to this school is all worth it. We were able to achieve our main goal of making her 1st year in school fun, exciting and inspiring for her to want to go to school everyday. Her teachers Ms. Maryam and Ms. Silvia are awesome! *Trigger Warning-Psychical grabbing and emotional abuse of special needs child* My two children started attending Casa Montessori in September of 2021. Prior to enrollment I personally went to the school for a tour and loved it! Most of all I wanted to talk to them about my 5yo daughter that is special needs and has sensory processing disorder, ADHD deeming highly gifted and has bowel issues due to a lack of nerve development. My daughter has an IEE and I brought it with me to the tour and asked lots of questions in relation to their experience and ability to handle her needs. They assured me they were experienced and capable. Things were going well until a teacher was replaced part way into the year. My daughters IEE was completely disregarded, never distributed to the staff, I even offered to pay for the teacher and staff trainings out of my own pocket from an ABA therapist and licensed social worker on how best to work with my daughter/any special needs kids (they never took me up on this), we went out of our way to become a team with the school and to setup the best days possible for all involved. They took my daughters sensory tools away and deemed them a "toy or distraction". They frequently took up to 30 min of recess away of the 1 hour of recess the kids got and when I stated I felt that was excessive the teacher told me she felt the 1 hour was "TOO much already!" I could go on and on with the issues such as refusing to help my 5yo daughter clean up if she had an accident due to her medical issues (something she can not control!) and talking about the "gag inducing smell" in front of other children and my daughter. Things continued to deteriorate and I WISH I had removed my kids! I should have. Because it lead to a very traumatic event for my daughter our last week there. Due to her SPD she occasionally makes high pitched screeching noises when overstimulated (which I had given them plan after plan after idea after idea for her sensory needs to not escalate to that point) and the teacher physically grabbed her arm roughly, yanked my daughter into her body and then screamed in her face. My daughter ended up hyperventilating and would not return to school for days due to fear. Her therapist had to work with her to create a safety note she now carry's with her. I went into the school and asked how to file a complaint and was informed they have no process for that (should have been a huge red flag!) and to email a statement. I did that a month ago. I then had an in person meeting to discuss the statement, offered the therapist notes and statement (whom thinks the teacher should lose her license!) and a statement from our nanny in addition to my own. I told them the resolution I would like to see is to have the school have new guidelines and procedures and process in place for special needs kids so no other family has to go through this. Basically instead of suing them I wanted to be sure this never happened to another child!! It has been 1 month and I have followed up multiple times only to be disregarded!! They seem to not care that a teacher physically grabbed (NOT for a safety issue!) and screamed at a child (a special need child at that!) to the point the child hyperventilated and now has to carry a safety note. When I read the reviews for the school prior to the tour I saw 1 review stating that they are not good with special needs. Which is why I asked all the questions and brought the IEE/IEP before enrolling. I disregarded that review as a fluke due to all the other positive ones. I no longer even see that review here and now realize the school is likely having them removed. It's interesting that only a few 5 star ONLY reviews are on this page for a school that's been around for 47 years right?!? I am not a "Karen"! I am fully aware dealing with special needs is more difficult, I understand teachers are dealing with far too much after covid and our kiddos are too! I understand we all are burnt out. But that NEVER gives anyone an excuse to manhandle a small child!!! Special needs or not! It is why I offered to pay for trainings, it's why I set up calls and meetings to be able to mimic the words the teacher used in class to be more uniform. To say I am disappointed considering my suggestion to resolution was to have guidelines in place so this doesn't happen again and was totally blown off is mind boggling and down right horrifying to say the least! One of the best decisions we made for our child and our family! I was so relieved to find Casa Montessori! It was everything I was looking for in a school for my daughter. Being a first time parent, I had a lot of boxes that I wanted to check off, so to speak. I wanted structure and flexibility for my child. I wanted a diversity and her to experience new things and cultures. I wanted a beautiful campus that I felt was both safe and welcoming. Most importantly, I wanted a calm classroom environment where the adults respected the children and vice versa. I wanted a sense of community-Casa was was all of these things. After researching and touring schools in the area, I had learned that many schools are not forthcoming with their tuition and other info. They try to make you come in for a tour to receive that information. That doesn't work for me. Why would I waste my time visiting a school that has a tuition outside of my budget and a schedule that doesn't work for our family? When I emailed Casa, I was pleasantly surprised when I received the tuition info and was able to schedule a tour. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to see children who were actively engaged in an activity. To see a teacher who had completed control of her classroom and yet, the children working independently with such enthusiasm. The campus is just beautiful and has so much space for the children to enjoy. I absolutely love the school's philosophy that allows my child to learn and grow with guidance and at her pace. The classrooms and school foster such a great partnership with the students and families. There are so many opportunities as a parent to visit your child's classroom and partake in an event. The sense of community is so strong. We thoroughly enjoy the potlucks, parties, trunk or treat events (just to make a few). My child looks forward to going to school and has learned more than I had ever hoped. Music and art are so valuable to children and both of these programs are part of the weekly curriculum. The school brings various performers and events to the school like Bubblemanja and a petting zoo-so much fun for the children and so memorable! My daughter's confidence has grown leaps and bounds in the last year+. She is reading at 4 years old and has enjoyed the after school enrichment programs offered by the school (Soccer Shots, Mad Science). The director, teachers and staff are all so hands on and caring-the genuine interest in each child is priceless. The director is so hands on as well and has a wonderful rapport with each child. Casa Montessori is such a wonderful school! The nurturing and caring environment is perfect for a child's first experience in a school classroom and throughout their primary and elementary years. During our first tour of the Campus, we were amazed to see students (as young as 2 1/2 or 3 years of age), working so well independently and with great enthusiasm. The classrooms are set up perfectly with various workstations and activities. Being new to the Montessori method, we loved the fact that students had the ability to learn a variety of tasks and participate in "hands on" activities throughout the classroom rather than being confined to their desks, as in a traditional classroom. We also loved that each student has the ability to focus on assignments or areas of their choice with the guidance of their teachers. Although all subjects are taught and learned, I believe it is such an important part of the learning process to allow the child to gain independence and autonomy at their own pace with the guidance of the teachers. Casa Montessori has a beautiful campus with a nice big playground, indoor auditorium and ample space. There are also fantastic extra-curricular activities that are offered on campus. Soccer shots, Mad Science, Music lessons, and Yoga to name a few and it was so great and convenient to have these options on campus rather than at multiple venues off campus. We also loved the all school events including parties, potlucks, and concerts. It was wonderful to get to know other parents, students, and families and participate in these events. James also loved getting to dress up for Career Day and Crazy Hair day! We also loved the Father's Day picnic and Trunk or Treat event! It was so much fun to see the children dress up in their costumes and Trick or Treat! Our son James has had a wonderful experience at Casa Montessori. His growth and development in the last 2 years is remarkable. He began reading before the age of 4 and has truly developed his skills in reading, writing, math and science. James has formed lasting friendships and a close bond with the teachers and staff. I believe what sets Casa Montessori apart is truly the dedication and commitment of the teachers and staff. Our child has been attending for 2 years after being at Devonshire Montessori - even though the beginning was a difficult transition to a new school as our child was diagnosed with ADHD and has some behavioral issues - Mrs. Villan was extremely patient and consistent in making sure she developed a bond with our child and helped her succeed. We are so grateful to Ms. Roshi, Ms. Giselle, Ms. Mo and Mrs. Valera for all their support and kindness. This school has changed the way our child learns and celebrates her talents - our daughter loves computer and music class and also tried the extracurricular activities that are offered after school like yoga and karate to name a few. We toured 8 schools before finally touring Casa Montessori, and we instantly knew this would be the school we would choose for our son. We live in Encino and the 20 minute drive each way is worth it for us, despite the fact that there are other schools closer to us. Casa is clean, organized, disciplined, has a great curriculum and has the most caring teachers. Our son looks forward to going to class everyday with his beloved Mrs. Rita (who is AMAZING), super accessible and quick to respond via email. She is communicative with the parents, and pays attention to the academic and emotional development of my son so he can have the best foundation for his later years. Simply put, SHE CARES. My son was in a class with Mrs. Tina and Mrs. Roshi as well, and they are extremely sweet and GREAT teachers. By far the best value in the valley! For a true Montessori, equipped with all of the educational materials that are part of Montessori (not cheap by the way) this school excels! Casa Montessori is well-kept, feels clean, is organized, spacious and has a creative feel. This school is a place where a child can fully develop his/her cognitive and social skills in a warm, caring environment. The teachers are amazing here! Mrs. Valero was my son's first teacher. I do miss her but they made a change to the classes- oh well. Miss Rita, my son's current teacher is incredibly intelligent, energetic, has great perspective and insight. My son adores her to no end :) This fall I will have to move my son to a public school in Burbank due to a change in my schedule such that I cannot get him to Casa Montessori. The school I enrolled my son in is a 9 on GreatSchools, argued to be "the best in Burbank" and I'm sure it is, but how it pales in comparison to Casa Montessori! I have become so spoiled. I don't think there is any elementary school that can provide what Casa provides. Sadly I have no choice. Other staff to mention: Brittney (office administrator) is so efficient and on top of EVERYTHING! I will certainly miss her. Miss Silvia, the assistant teacher in my son's class is so sweet and great with the kids. Every teacher, assistant teacher and staff member has been so kind to me and my son. Mrs. Valera has put together a great team dedicated to helping children develop to their fullest ability. Other stuff: Montessori is not a trade-marked name so any school can use it. I found Casa Montessori on the American Montessori Society (ANS) website, as well as 1 other school closer to me which was definitely in keeping with Maria Montessori's ideas about the environment but felt cold. My experience visiting other schools not affiliated with AMS is they were Montessori in name only. Some did not even make an attempt at designing a milieu in keeping with Maria Montessori's schools. I preferred Casa Montessori as it is spacious, true to the Montessori method and have great extended hours (crucial for us working moms). Regarding the other early educational philosophies: I do also have experience with Waldorf (I was a substitute teacher at one for a year) but I don't feel it would be a great fit for my son and as I am working and going back to school, wasn't a good fit. Reggio is a great teaching philosophy but good luck finding one that will keep your child 9 hours a day as it is in direct conflict with their philosophy so they're all limited to 4-5 hours a day. read more

I volunteer as a teacher's aide at this school twice a week, and I must say that it is as others say, a hidden gem. Each student learns at his or her own pace, and the environment is very supportive and creative. It is a low student-teacher ratio, so each student gets a lot of individual attention, unlike crowded public school classrooms. I have personally observed students who can read and write full sentences at age 4, and I have seen other students' artistic abilities surpass those of much much older children, because they are encouraged to develop creatively as well as academically. Students feel confident that they are learning new things each day and are proud to show me what they are working on, whether it's math or language arts, and they are not shy about asking for help if they need it because they are not afraid of reactions from other students b/c of the supportive environment at this school. Along with teaching students to actually enjoy school and learning, they also learn valuable skills about being personally responsible for their environment and being a polite and conscientious classmate to other students in the class. The teachers and staff are very responsive and attentive to individual needs. It is obvious that the staff here care about the students and providing a happy, healthy environment for the students to learn and grow into self-reliant, caring adults. It's hard to know where to begin to convey how special Casa Montessori is. All THREE of my children have attended this amazing school and we could not be happier. The school is run in such a nurturing, compassionate way which creates a close knit community amongst the parents, children and staff. They are very true to the Montessori method, but not in a sterile environment. Dana and the staff are literally the most amazing teachers I have ever met (my children are older now..) and they take the time to meet every child where they are with a gentle hand not only supporting them, but encouraging them to take the next step in order to be challenged. The school is good and management is good, they have good materials for kids to teach. But your kids personal experience purely depends on which teacher he is. We had a bad experience with Ms.Tina who is a primary program teacher. She was not friendly with kids overall for their age. The students in this program are usually 3 or 4 years, who need more love and comfort than rejection and negativity. Ms. Tina was picking on my son always and has too many class rules for petty things. It could be also because of her age - she might have less threshold towards smaller kids. Principal is good, but hiring teachers can be better. read more

A real gem of a school. My youngest is in the preschool and my older son is in the elementary. Both have had an incredible first year at Casa. In the elementary, my son was one of 5 kids in the class, so he got loads of personal attention. Montessori means the kids get to work at their own pace and use wonderful materials. Learning is very hands on, with very little rote memorization. The teachers are all very caring. Both boys have thrived in this environment. I can't recommend this school enough! read more

I love Casa Montessori!!! Our daughter attended preschool there for almost two years. She had a great time and learned so much (letters, numbers, music, art, science and - most important to me - social skills). In the beginning she had some separation issues, but her teacher Ms. Tina and her assistant Ms. Nela helped us a lot. We are so happy we moved our son to Casa! We moved our son here after trying traditional LAUSD schools (good rated ones too) for Kindergarten and First. Although he was learning ... he hated school. LAUSD was a great fit for our daughter - but for some reason - it just wasn't a good fit for our son. Then one month after moving him to Casa - he explained why he LOVED his new school - here's what he said. "When I was at (old school) we would just start getting into things and then we'd have to stop and move onto the next thing just when things were getting good - at Casa if I'm interested in something I can spend as much time as I want on it.!" - How awesome is that? Now we knew why he wasn't thriving. Now don't think they can just do what they like - they have a weekly work schedule - but the child gets to decide how to approach it and they can do in as much depth as they want - or take as much time as they need to master a challenging skill. He really has to take responsibility to get all of his schedule done... and he learned the hard way that if you avoid math all week - well that just means Friday is ALL MATH :). This approach to learning has given my son so much confidence that even our family and friends have noticed how much more outgoing and articulate he has become. Ms. Katie is so patient but understands SOOO thoroughly how the learning process works for children... how they come to discoveries - we just had an hour parent teacher conference - and I learned so much - I'm actually jealous... I want to go back to school! He has Spanish and computers, art, music and one on one guitar lessons! Definitely look at it as a relatively affordable ($1000) month alternative. The faculty is warm, the student teacher ratio right now is 6 to 1. We just could not be happier! read more

It is pretty obvious that Gertrude is a disgruntled former employee. I am a current parent and I absolutely love this school my daughter is three years old and already starting to read. She has learned great problem-solving skills critical thinking and many other valuable skills that should be beyond her years. I could not be more pleased with my child's curriculum and development. I love Casa M! I have had my girls at various pre-schools and schools in Burbank and Northridge areas, but nothing comes even close to Casa. The teaching is fantastic, the care is amazing, and the love and security that my kids have felt here are unparalleled. My daughter who has been going here for 3 years now is way ahead of her age developmentally and academically, and it is due to Casa in a large part. I highly recommend Casa! read more

Love love love this school. The teachers and staff are amazing. It's also the only legitimate Montessori school in the valley. I felt extremely comfortable enrolling my son here and have been happy with my decision ever since. Don't even bother with the other "Montessori" schools. Casa Montessori is an excellent school. The family oriented environment, along with the love and care of the staff is very comforting. When I drop my children off, I know they will be looked after diligently, affectionately and taught not only academics but how to become well-rounded individuals. My children (6-year old and 4-year old) have flourished immensely in the few years they've attended Casa Montessori. The Montessori method is truly valuable, particularly in the early years to establish key fundamentals and passion/excitement for learning.
