Just want to say thank you to the entire faculty at casa Montessori. My experience this past 2.5 years have been short of exceptional. The whole team is hands on and really care about your child. They make learning fun for our kids. My son has been attending for 2.5 years and my daughter started last Fall. It's been a wonderful experience as we continue our children's education. I appreciate Ms. Giselle in Room 2 who makes sure my children are well taken care of. And to the amazing administrative team. Both Ms. Mo and Mrs. Roshi for your devotion to our children. I could not recommend this school enough. Thank you for all you do and for making my kids learning journey so enjoyable!

Casa Montessori is such a Gem! I heard lots of good reputations from other parents. And when we got a tour my son immediately loved this school. I've been tour many school, most have small lot and cover everywhere with cement. Casa Montessori has beautiful gardens and lawns, with tall trees around providing shade, very beautiful!!! Kids enjoy outdoor time a lot! Besides, the teachers and office executives ( Mrs. Roshi is very nice!!) are excellent!!! Especially Room 1 teachers Ms. Kiara! She is knowledgeable and very patient. My son got in when he was 2.5 years old, he couldn't talk and was very shy. Ms. Kiara gave him lots of love and guidance, within 2 weeks he became very comfortable and looked forward to going to school everyday. Ms. Kiara gave solid structure of class which follow the real Montessori concept. Kids learn a lot based on hands-on experience. And it's a mixed age class, which my son benefited a lot. When he was the youngest age, he got cared and helped by the older kids, and he learned very fast from them. Now he is 4 became the oldest group in the class now, he is helping the younger when playing and learning. It's such amazing to see kids learning social skills and knowledge in such a nature way. He used to be labeled by pediatrician as late in speech kid, required to see speech therapist, now he talks a lot!!! The school constantly holds events like celebration of Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween and Christmas performances. Parents are welcome to volunteer in the class, which provides lots of chance for parents to contact with school and other parents. I really appreciate what school offers to kids and families. Definitely highly recommend to all parents who are looking for preschool and privately elementary school!

This place is truly amazing--I can never say enough good things about the staff here. Ms. Roshi, Ms. Carla, Ms. Mo, and every single teacher (even the ones whose names I'm not mentioning) are simply incredible. We have been part of this school for 3 years now, and I'm honestly sad that it's time for us to move on to our next school. If there's one school I can recommend without a single doubt, it would be Casa Montessori--and only the Northridge location. My kids have felt completely at home here from the very first day. This isn't just a school; it's a community and a family. The teachers care deeply about each child, and they go above and beyond to make sure the kids feel supported, loved, and encouraged every single day. Every holiday is celebrated in such a thoughtful and fun way for the kids. For Mother's Day, they had a wonderful setup where all the moms could do arts and crafts with their children--it was such a special and memorable experience. Little touches like these show how much effort they put into making every moment meaningful. From the way they handle learning, to the personal attention each child gets, to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, everything here is done with so much heart. They do everything and anything in their power for your kids, and it shows. We will always carry the best memories from our time here, and I'm forever grateful for the impact they've had on my children's growth and happiness.

Trunk or Treat!

Go to an open house and see for yourself. You will be forever changed from the first step in the door. Caterpillar Cottage is a true gem. Both our daughters attended pre-school here (our youngest is…read morestill attending), and though the girls have such different personalities, they both thrived. The school's approach is empathetic so that even the littlest children feel seen, heard, and understood. The teachers model and foster social-emotional skills skillfully, so that the kiddos become considerate but effective self-advocates and negotiators, establishing the building blocks for identifying their own emotions and needs and working through conflict. The teachers are gentle and caring. You feel totally confident leaving your child under their guidance, knowing they will be treated with respect and kindness. The teachers and director also become your genuine partners along the journey of raising your child. Through coffee hour chats, expert talks, knowledgeable resource recommendations, and one-on-one conversations they can help troubleshoot any parenting challenges you are working through. For myself and some alumni parent friends of mine, the school has been such a trusted guiding light that "Caterpillar" has become a verb. If you're not sure how to deal with a child situation, you ask yourself, "How can I Caterpillar this?" What would (lead teacher) Andrea say or do? All this is on top of the other good stuff of pre-school they provide: arts exploration, outdoor play, stories and gardening and science experiments and a lovely community of parents and friends. Highest recommendation!

Before I give a glowing and deeply heartfelt review of the experience our family has had at…read moreMontessori House of Children with both of our boys, I want to share a broader thought, because context matters, especially when parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives. I think it is fundamentally unfair when a school receives a one-star review based purely on a parent's expectation of what they think an accredited Montessori environment should be, particularly when that opinion comes from a misunderstanding, limited exposure, or without ever actually attending or engaging with the school. Montessori education is nuanced, intentional, and often misunderstood when viewed through a traditional lens. What troubles me most is how quickly some people run to leave damaging reviews without first asking questions, seeking clarity, or having a conversation with the school. Educators and administrators put their entire lives into the well-being of these children and the integrity of their program. Parents rely on real, lived experiences when deciding to place their children in someone else's care, and highly subjective or reactionary reviews do not serve that trust or decision-making process. I truly believe that if something feels off, the first step should be to pause, gather information, and talk with the school. If, after genuine effort and understanding, you still feel strongly, then by all means leave a review. But perspective matters. And if you take a moment to look at some of the most extreme one-star profiles, you will often notice a pattern. Volatility, absolutes, and very little middle ground. Life, and education, rarely works that way. Now onto what actually matters. Our older son graduated from Montessori House of Children and is now thriving in first grade. Our younger son is about to graduate this year. Over the years, we have watched both boys grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. This school helped shape who they are as learners and as people. The teachers are patient, intentional, and deeply invested. The environment fosters confidence, curiosity, responsibility, and respect. These are core Montessori principles that are clearly lived, not just advertised. Our children felt safe, seen, challenged, and supported. We will always be grateful for the foundation Montessori House of Children gave our family. It is not just a school. It is a community that genuinely cares about children and their development. I recommend it without hesitation to parents seeking a thoughtful, authentic Montessori experience.

TLDR; Second child just graduated Montessori…read more Bittersweet is the vibe. We truly wish our time here would never end, but now it has, and for the second and final time. Both our children entered this happy place at the youngest possible age, 24months, bc we wanted them to enjoy the stimulation of a preschool setting, and we are so happy we did. It goes far beyond the lessons learned in the classrooms, and the social norms they picked up in the sandbox. This is a place entrusted with not only watching your most precious possessions, but nurturing them and guiding them in their most formative years. It almost feels inadequate to relate the gravity of this responsibility and the proven outcome in a few graphs on the internet, but here we are. A combined 6+ years total, spent at this place. The first week at Monty with our first born, we weren't sure what to expect. She was able to do dropoffs well, as she had experience w that in daycare. Ofc, there were more than a few days where those turned difficult, her tears streaming, legs kicking, voice straining with violent screams at the prospect of not hanging out with Dad all day as he worked from home. But nobody is better at that particular hostage negotiation than the staff at Montessori. What seemed a task akin to charming a hissing Cobra snake was handled like a scoop of ice cream. I still remember the first Friday pick UP where my daughter had a complete meltdown at being told she was coming home for the day, and no, she couldn't come back til Monday. From an infrastructure standpoint, it's hard to beat this facility. The powerful HVAC hums along in all seasons so everyone is in comfort. The lunches are prepared hot, consistently, and lovingly everyday, which is so convenient. And most of all, their vast shaded outdoor space, separated by age, is what really sets this place apart. Children are at their best when given room to run, and the playground and toys provided are second to none. I'll miss cleaning the sand out of their shoes every day. Ultimately tho, what really makes this place what it is, is the Staff. The longtime teachers here truly love their job and the children they teach. The small class sizes ensure these wee ones have a loving experience as they navigate the bright and sometimes stormy journey of early childhood. The teachers always know how to handle any of the challenging situations that arise, and have a never ending supply of love to share. They also potty trained both our kids in a short amount of time, filling the crucial daytime gap of our schedule. Another advantage they provide you with is the highly individualized education plan that is tailored toward the daily progress of your child. Age is just a number here. When our kids were showing progress w their numbers and letters, they advanced appropriately. Both had a full kindergarten education a year early as a result. And, not to brag, but I strongly believe this to be the main reason why our oldest (now a soon to be 3rd grader) threw a perfect game on her OLSAT. Some folks say start kinder a year late, I think a year early (for the right child ofc) is the move. When LAUSD started offering free transitional kindergarten, it was natural for us to consider taking them up on the offer. But we quickly decided against it, despite the cost savings and convenience of a single dropoff in the morning. We didn't want our 4 year old getting bullied in the bathrooms by 5th graders, nor being immersed in a classroom of 30 some odd kids either. At this tender age, the loving, hugging nature of Monty is something we could never quantify, and is by far a superior environment. Really, it's hard to overstate the profound feeling of gratitude we have for this School. Like, it's not simply a Thai food restaurant you frequent bc you can't think of what to make for dinner. It's a place where children will receive an upbringing that never misses, that they enjoy and truly delivers at every opportunity.
