Solid little donut spot that myself and my 4 year old checked out. We didn't venture out with anything too wild, just a glazed and blueberry cake. Both were really good and tasted very fresh. Everything I've had here has been delicious! The kolaches, raised donuts, cake donuts, croissant wrapped hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, even the sausage biscuit checkerboard is so good and creative! This is a local family run business and the folks who run this place are incredibly sweet. Though they may seem reserved at first due to the language barrier, they want to make the best for their customers and they're always thinking of new items to bake up. I love seeing what new donuts are in the window, sometimes they'll have fun character donuts which I'm sure kids love. The donuts are so light and fluffy, not heavy and just the right amount of sweet. I definitely could have eaten the whole store twice over. Good variety of drinks in the cold case as well. Love this Donut Shop. They aren't the most personable (think Soup Nazi from Seinfield), but there's a reason they act that way. Easily the best donuts in Dallas. Usually the "Best" awards are given to places with fancy, new, modern cakes that are just circle shaped with a hole in the middle. But Gram's Donuts are the best of the BASICS. Sometimes you just want a solidly good glazed donut, made to perfection, hot, and delicious. Gram's can give you exactly that without all the unnecessary frill. I don't even crave the typical fancy donuts you would get at other places, I just crave their delicious glazed or chocolate donuts. For extra sugar and icing, get their perfectly coated Donot Holes!! I like this donut place! It's a quaint little place by the corner of Inwood and Maple and they open fairly early enough to buy donuts to bring into work :) My favorite perk is how little small talk and how efficient it has been for me to grab donuts the few times that I've visited -- I'm in and out within 5 minutes or less. Definitely helps not having to wake up exorbitantly early to grab a donut I wouldn't have otherwise gotten. As for the flavors, these donuts are great! I'm a big fan of the glazed donuts and the cake donuts are pretty standard to what you'd find elsewhere (I'm simply not a cake donut fan, sorry, not sorry). With the glazed donuts, they're light and fluffy and if you're not careful, you can easily eat a half dozen before you realize it. I definitely plan on returning to get more donuts in the future!!! read more

It feesl good to let fellow Yelpers know of great sleepy business to help support while interacting with kind and appreciative owners. Everyone likes a good deal on solid priced food fare. There does seem to be quite a variety of kolaches, croissants, and traditional donuts. But limited beverage choices. To top off my pissiness, I even took the initiative to update the hours of this business on Yelp several days ago. For my efforts, the owner was rude and condescending. First and last visit. There wss no happy sunny disposition here. And her prices are higher than Maple Donuts and their pastries are drenched with too much sugar. Several bites from my beloved favorites: chocolate old fashioned and a flaky cheese croissant. A few pieces of each already has my stomach upset. Too much sugar and it's YUCK to me. Personally, I prefer a balanced breakfast treat. Even with my herbal tea and coffee to help soak up my rumbling tummy, its feeling unhappy. This place is a no go for me. Ugh. Well I really tried. When I was still a young child, my mom handed me my first apple fritter- it was crunchy on the outside with tender insides full of softened apple bits. Truly a life-long memory. Ever since then, I have been searching for an apple fritter which could compete with my first. Most shops get the apple fritter wrong, either over-frying or making it too bready, but Gram's has captured perfection it's rendition. Each bite is full of soft cinnamon apple bits, protected by a scrumptiously crunchy exterior. Don't snooze on the breakfast items either! The sausage rolls are all delicious. The owner is so sweet that when you buy a bunch of donuts, she always throws in the donut holes free!!!
