Great selection but CAVEAT EMPTOR when it comes to returns. Unlike almost all other sellers of plants (both outdoor and indoor), Gramma B's does not warranty any plants they do not maintain. Now, how often do you buy a plant and have the retailer come to your house to maintain the plants? I would assume NEVER. Almost all other sellers of plants realize this, assume buyers are honest and that they take care of plants according to the instructions given or provided by the seller or from a web-site, book or general knowledge. (Home Depot, Lowe's, Pike's, etc). But not this place. We paid a hefty price for the plants, paid an even heftier price for delivery and paid the price for a non-warrantied plant. BTW, we bought 2 of the same, one survived well, the other did not but somehow we were at fault even though both were taken care of in exactly the same manner. BUYER BEWARE!!!! I want to start by saying I have been going to Gramma B's since they opened. I have recommended them to many friends and associates. In the beginning, they were terrific and had great prices and the flowers/arrangements were gorgeous. Boxwoods but not as much is what I would say. Why the one star? I moved away for 2 years and returned to the States last year and of course returned to my favorite florist. Last Friday, I received my last order. I normally have Gramma B's put arrangements into my own pots. When I dropped off 2 of my pots I mentioned we would do hydrangeas and some greenery. Imagine my surprise when the bill came and I had been charged $500.00 (for 2)! Even when I mentioned to the owner's husband (who delivered the plants) that I thought the price seemed kind of high, he agreed! Here is the breakdown for each pot I was provided after I questioned the charge: (2) 10" Blooming Hydrangea 42 ea $84 (1) 6" Crocodile Fern 16 16 (2) 6" Varigated Ivy 12 24 (1) 8" Pothos 16 16 (2) 6" Rex Begonia 15 30 (1) 6" Zebra 11 11 (1) 4" Mother Fern 6 6 Soils, liner, moss reindeer,mood lichen 31 Labor & Design 30 Total $248 If I can, I will upload pictures of the pots. There is no doubt that the arrangements are beautiful, but I was sick to my stomach every time I thought about it and every time I passed the sign at Pike's saying "Hydrangeas $17.98". I then thought, perhaps the owner accidentally charged me for my containers, but that was not the case. I let her know, I couldn't keep the plants and that I would be bringing them back. I had truly hoped she would have worked with me. She said I had to pay for the labor (which I was fine with) and a restocking fee of $140 and I could only do it for the next 24hrs. So basically I had to pay $200 for nothing. This has been an extremely disappointing experience. Especially since when I went back to return the plants, the owner proceeded to make me feel like I had done something wrong and tried to "school" me by saying next time I needed to provide a budget. Who knew you needed to mention a budget for hydrangeas, greens and dirt? I was happy for their success and to see how much they have grown. These are the sweetest owners you could ever want to meet all wrapped inside a cottage store complete with found objects that keep your eyes occupied. I am an Atlanta native living in Buckhead; I put 5 Custom made Birdfeeders on consignment at Gramma B's. They were at first inside the shop and then later moved outside and nailed to an outbuilding propped with plants, exposed to the weather, and used for display through summer and winter. At one point one was no longer there (sold?) and then months later the other four were gone. I came by on multiple occasions and Lisa, the owner, was not there. I left messages with multiple workers/employees asking to pick up my birdfeeders or to be paid for them. Each of them: Janice, Kathy, Silvia, and/or Rey said Lisa Bartlett was busy but they would see that she got in contact with me in a timely fashion. To date I have NEVER been contacted to return or to pay for the now used and missing Birdfeeders. This is unprofessional and is not businesslike behavior. Lisa has started another business in Rabun County GA where I also own a home since 1989; I hope this is not the way the customers will be treated there also. Before this experience I was giving positive comments to friends about the venue. I have requested to pick up my 5 missing feeders or to be paid for them. So far no response. BEWARE OF SHODDY WORK, LIES AND BROKEN PROMISES! I paid Gramma B's nearly $15,000 last October to landscape my yard. Lisa Bartlett (Gramma B) told me that anything that died over the winter, within six months, would be replaced. When numerous plants died, I contacted Lisa in early April. She repeatedly told me she would come shortly to replace, but never did. At the end of April I placed a dispute claim with AMEX for $2000. Lo and behold, two days later she showed up and replaced $500 worth of items. She then had her lawyer write AMEX saying that plant sales are final, no warranty. That's totally opposite what she had told me on the phone and in emails. The lawyer also wrote that the only reason she replaced the $500 worth of material was "out of the goodness of her heart." Oh, sure. That's poppycock! Now I've got multiple dead plants, bushes, and trees. Please stay away from Gramma B's! read more

Very Expensive! I love Gamma B's and have been a customer for several years. They do beautiful, earthy, and unusual arrangements. They also give accurate advice on your gardening plans. But their prices have definitely risen since they have expanded their property, so I am a winter holiday customer only now. I used to be able to get a lovely amaryllis pot for around $35-40, now similar arrangements are $65-80. I also used to refer lots of people, but now most get sticker shock, so I have stopped the referrals. Its a great place for personalized service and beautiful arangements, but plan to dig deep in your pockets. They charge 2-3 times local prices for their flowers, and then charge individually for every stalk, twig, fern leaf, and piece of material that they add into your floral arrangement- which makes the price tick up quickly. read more

Buyer beware. We were in the market for plants and I passed by and decided to stop in. They had plants that were slightly different from the ones we were looking for, but the price was decent so we went with them. I asked about delivery and the owner was too busy to talk with me about it and apparently her office assistants could not coordinate delivery without her approval so I paid for the plants (over $500) and was on my way. It has been one week and we have yet to get a call about delivery confirmation and as a result, after a week, we don't have any plants. I have called on three separate occasions and and have gotten their voicemail every time. I can't get a hold of anyone and they will not return any of my phone calls. We finally got so frustrated we are disputing the charges with our credit card company. This has been a frustrating and negative experience all around. Plenty of other places to buy plants with much better customer service. I'm not sure how you stay in business not responding to customer calls, taking payment and withholding product. So much for supporting small business. I'm going back to Pikes. read more

Just received the most gorgeous potted floral arrangement from Gramma B's on a lovely Spring Day! Wow! I have never seen anything so beautiful, timeless and elegant. I can place it on my kitchen farm table or move it to my patio table and it looks perfect in both spots. Thank you Gramma B's! I intend to use you again and again. Beautifully arranged plant gifts; yes, a bit pricey, but always lovely; super owners and a delight to visit their store

OK...BUYER BEWARE...wonderful store, lovely small potted plants...NOT a good choice for landscaping or outdoor placements of any kind...she simply doesn't know enough about trees, creating proper beds, drainage...her work in our front yard, which costs thousands of dollars, resulted in HUGE drainage problems because she built the beds up so high, and, even worse...AND..just found today from Georgia-trained landscape architect that is now helping me...with this super highly built bed, she covered up the bottom ten inches of a beautiful old tree in our front yard, one that has been there since 1996, and as a result, killed it. I am sick about it. Thanks Gramma B. In another area of the yard, she recommended and I bought another huge thousand+ dollar tree, one native to Colorado and high altitudes... and, shocker..it died within one summer season in Atlanta. She over planted the front yard with too too many plants...and now, two years later, it is a disaster. She is not trained in landscape architecture, and, I can tell you, has ruined our yard. I addition, almost every planter we bought and had created for outdoor use rusted out within one year. These are expensive planters, ones that I would have NEVER bought for use outside if I had known I was spending so much money on something that wouldn't last. Also, she would tell me that plants that were dying were going to the Gramma B nursery to get better over the winter season...never saw them again. After all this, though, the main reason I stopped using her, was her attitude. This is someone who wants to dictate, wants to learn as she goes along the art of landscape and potting plants at YOUR expense, and who does NOT deal well with even the most polite, gently delivered criticism...it's always mother nature's fault with this lady. When I pointed out things --- when expensive plants had died, planters she had recommended for outside use were rusting, breaking, etc etc...well, her attitude is one of arrogance that no doubt rises from insecurity. Not only did she not own up to anything, she acts like you are out of line if you say anything to her. To arrogant for me! No fun to work with someone who acts like they know a lot more than they do...BUYER BEWARE...she just doesn't know gardening and landscaping in Georgia.
