I went here on 2.27.2025 with the intention of purchasing a New King James Version (NKJV) Bible. They definitely had some in their cute locker display - actual lockers that open up nicely and were labeled. However, what they had was not quite what I wanted. One was a huge Bible. It was not comfortable to hold. Another had teeny tiny lettering that my 42-year-old eyes could not handle for long. Lol. So after poring over the rest of the book section, I waved over the friendly young lady who welcomed me to check me out. When she realized they didn't have what I wanted, she recommended me to Hobby Lobby. (A "I could've had a V8" moment.) I purchased a book called "The Grace of Healing: Revealing God's Heart to Heal" by Bob Yandian ($29.39). It has been refreshing and helpful for me. Yandian gets straight to the point, but in thoughtful ways. Go check the bookstore out & eat at their cafe even if you don't attend the church. It is swanky cool inside! As it is a smaller shop, I did not see any furniture for purchase, but they do have the following: + books + toys + home decor + jewelry + clothes (children's, men's & women's) + shoes The ladies working when I popped in on September 24, 2024 were friendly and assistive. Halloween costumes and decorations were at the front of the store. They accept donations any time during business hours of which I posted a photo.

They had a wide variety of rare succulents, cacti and some basic house plants. Very unique plant shop as you can pick up full grown cactus to succulent propagation leaves. And customer service has always been a roller coaster at the returns section, but lately it was terrible. On three occasions, they took a while to acknowledge me. Today (10/16/2023) I was met with some fairly nonchalant, unhelpful workers. Wasn't acknowledged. There were 4 of them standing there. Eventually one said they be with me shortly. Finally I get help. This girl was a bit distant. Told me I couldn't get store credit for something I bought long ago... okay, but I've returned stuff without receipts plenty of times & never got this amount of grief. I'll explain more on why this Lowe's is lacking, though... my personal policy is to not complain on Yelp unless I've already notified a manager. Done. So here is the s*** show... On Friday, October 13, 2023, an employee used a forklift to put a toilet in the back of my Jeep. A forklift! It took 2 employees to do this actually. One being a spotter. All I wanted was someone to help me lift the box into the back with me because the box was so bulky, but they went super stupid and used this contraption that made me as nervous as a needle to the eyeball with it because I seriously thought they were going to f*** up my Jeep with it. Back in July (2023) I was FINALLY told by an employee in doors/windows that the guy who was originally in control of my window order from February 2023 quit and the ball was dropped completely when one of my special order windows arrived broken. Why did they never call all those months?! Why did they keep telling me the opposite of what Lowe's Customer Service hotline kept telling me? That issue got resolved after several excruciating phone calls and me trying to find the right person to talk to. My window was eventually set up for installation in August 2023 when it could have been done in May. I paid for them in February! Back in March 2023 I had over $8,000 worth of flooring delivered to my house with a forklift. The Lowe's employee ended up busting the pallet by pushing it with the fork in an unstable area on the pallet... the boxes of premium flooring scattered across my garage floor. He started complaining about his employees "who should have wrapped it up better" then and I should have taken that as a red flag. He kept referring to me as babe and baby. Don't expect a lot of help from many of the younger faces who work here. The majority of them act like whiny toddlers when faced with a challenge then leave you high and dry. A group of them were horsing around and talking about non-work related stuff in the ceiling fan area... then asked if I needed help. No. Not with that lack of unprofessionalism. A returns employee claimed they couldn't give me store credit anymore for perfectly boxed, new items because the items the amount would be nearly $500. Then it was because it was on a MasterCard. Then it was because my receipt was too old. Would she have said the same thing if I said I paid it with cash and lost my receipt? No... Then the manager from the floor pursued to tell me that "they're really cracking down on that [30-day return policy] and their bottom line is hurting." It's 2023 - I think everyone's bottom line is hurting! I guess spending over $20,000 here so far this year isn't enough to keep me as a customer by giving me store credit for 6 boxes of unused flooring that they didn't get to me until 8 weeks after ordering. So disappointed in this store.

When I went in the other day to ask where the owner was moving she smiled and said it was a secret. Well, darn. I guess others had already tried sweet talking her too. Lol. She also does not have an estimated open date due to personal/health reasons that were just discovered the day before I visited. I picked up a few sweets for my sweethearts - chocolates and caramels and a jar of locally-made honey: Abdallah Individually-Wrapped Caramel = $0.76 Abdallah Valentine Individually-Wrapped Chocolates = $0.78 Hot Chocolate Stirrers = $2.00 each Beeman Honey = $15.99 This store has so many great gifts for all ages... particularly geared towards the Christian faith. I have been searching for a few things for my new house…read more My mom asked me, "Have you been to Nam's [Antiques & Collectibles] behind Big Lots?" It donned on me finally where this place was. Getting here is like driving through a life-size version of Ninetendo's Excitebike: the parking lots are filled with huge potholes, speed bumps, and unmarked spots. (Did I just show my age with that analogy?) There is free parking. Once inside, they don't allow large bags due to shoplifting. Some spaces are so tight that I would have hated having an oversized purse. Their vendors have mostly recognizable boundaries, so in the case that an item is (unusually) unmarked you'll be able to ask for the price without too long of a wait. There were quite a few pieces I would consider if I was move-in ready. There were tons of books I'll most likely be purchasing in a few months. Plus some nice jewelry & home decor antiques. Great finds at Nam's with friendly, assistive staff members.

When I was a teenager I remember not really appreciating all the "old lady" accessories and other items. Lol. This place now seems larger, easier to manuever in, and with many more options for gifts for loved ones than ever before. There was everything from some women's clothing, jewelry, slippers, sunglasses, and bags to kitchenware, some gourmet food items, bath bombs, other body care items, cards for every occassion, and books. Many wedding registries are created here because they also have quite an array of home decor. Not to mention several Christian faith-based items like crosses, jewelry, books, and other decor. There is a small men's section and also a baby section. I learned of a new tool for little ones while I was here back on August 5, 2023 - it's called toniebox. From the tonies website, this device is best described as "imagination-building, screen-free digital listening experience that plays stories, songs, and more." It seems like an excellent way for parents who don't want to give their children a tablet or other device to engage in listening and other important life skills. Horsefeathers was selling the starter boxes and Tonies characters for 50% off. There are many affordable gifts here plus... they offer free gift wrapping! The staff members are friendly and willing to help you - just ask if they're busy. The worst thing is their parking. There is very limited parking, but it is typically only crowded during major holidays.

I wish I could find weird items like outdoor faucet covers without other boxes, displays, and employees-only ladders being in the way. I would appreciate instead of annoyed sighs and more waiting for yet another employee to come assist me that all the employees would initiate confident attitudes without any complaints about how busy they've been or who should have been to be there to help me. When I paid for baseboards to be delivered this past July, I got no follow-up as to why my delivery date was delayed a day later. The customer service representative I spoke to had no information on her end either. It's frustrating at times to shop here, so I always try to do my homework beforehand or bring my brother who is a great handyman. I love Milwaukee tools. Some are locked up so you'll have to wait for assistance. Bring your patience. Reward yourself with a beer afterwards. Lol. Parking is ample for trucks/trailers. My latest encounter on 10/18/2023 was like all others before - the employees are helpful and know what they are talking about here. The prices are very competitve with Home Depot and Lowe's, however, you won't find quite as many options at HB as you would the other big name stores. Parking is plentiful and accessible out front or on the side where an additional entrance exists. My boss prefer to get all of their cement here for their various projects... he has commented about that fact numerous times.
