Sat down to have my haircut by Alan, for the first time. Asked for my usual 2 back and sides and SMALL trim off the top.
Alan gets to work on my hair. Everything seems fine then before long he starts hacking away at my hair near the top of my head, on the right side but way further up than the side near the top
.While he was doing this I convinced myself that he was just giving it a trim, but it felt and looked like he was cutting loads off.
When he'd finished I was horrified. It looked like one of these cuts 14 year old chavs have, so being a 30 year old, soon to be doctor, I was so annoyed at this. Maybe he thought I was 16.. since he did ask me if I'd been to college. I thought, yeah I did 14 years ago.
Anyway, I've had many haircuts with the style I'd had before Alan turned me into a chav and never had so much cut off so high up. I normally have a number 2 at the sides near my ears and lower down at the back and then skillfully blended in with the much more lengthy top. I thought he'd look at what my style was before starting and figure out that I wanted the style maintained while just having it shorter, but he proceeded to give me a new chav style altogether.
This was very disappointing and frustrating since it doesn't take much to recognise someone's existing style and ensure it's maintained. He didn't really seem to be concentrating while cutting it either and seemed to be in this trance like autopilot state, which is fair enough since cutting hair is second nature for someone who has been doing it for so long. So I'm guessing he'd done cuts for so many teenagers he just went into his autopilot state and cut mine like a teenager.
Alan, next time please pay attention to who's sat in the chair and be more perceptive to the style they want.
I take a lot of pride in my appearance and this cut was simply embarrassing. When I asked for a small trim off the top I meant I wanted a small amount off the top, not loads off the upper side. Lovely guy but feel like he had his head in the clouds while cutting my hair and ruined it as a result. read more
