One day... They have a few tables inside, but most of their business is take out. They offer coffee as well, and large bags of flour. We picked up Rye flour, as I do make rye bread in our bread machine. It's a real treat to go here, and we are in about every 2 weeks give or take. For this reason, I'm sorry Dawn had a bad experience there! I'll have to see if we can arrange to meet her there one day.

They sell lots of different pastries but specialize in Middle Eastern pastries. I love their Znoud El Sit, and I went on a Thursday and they had them! Some places only have this on the weekends. They are $2 each and are shorter but fatter than other places - more delicious creamy filling! The cream is a little clumpier and not as smooth, but I don't really mind. They have macarons for $1.50 each. I haven't tried them but they looked good. The bakery is really clean and well lit. Staff were nice. It's in a strip mall (right next door to Capital Buns Bakery). Lots of free parking.

We picked out several items to bring home: a scone, lemon cupcake, chocolate cupcake, a chocolate raspberry parfait, a raspberry bomb, and a brownie with peanut butter icing. We also both each got a smoothie, one blueberry, honey, Greek yogurt and a strawberry banana. Unbeatable flavor with the smoothies. So many different ingredients and the price was very reasonable! The treats were so very good. The peanut butter icing on the brownie was a little too sweet for my taste but omg still so tasty. The raspberry in the parfait was also too sweet (for our taste) but again, the flavor was SO good. I could not believe how tasty all these things were. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for something sweet and gluten free. It's so hard to get a really good gluten free treats around here and this is the place you can get them! This is my new favorite bakery! Also.. LGBT+ love and inclusion. They also do lunch items that I haven't gotten to try yet, but such a reall, REALLY tasty looking menu for those. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more items!

The staff were friendly enough, but never asked how my food was so I didn't tell them. I feel very disappointed in my experience here. They have a large selection of nachos so I tried them. Weirdly enough it's all chicken based but honestly, it felt like a 10-year-old made my nachos. Almost no meat of the affirmed frozen reheated variety- and it wasn't what the young staff said it was. She said it was "grilled chicken breast cut up." It was a breaded frozen patty and not much of it too. A handful of shredded cheese un-melted from its quick pass in the microwave hiding under a whole bunch of wet iceberg lettuce and one or two small pieces of jalapeños. This was really just a suggestion of nachos. But for $15, I would've expected something more quality. Perhaps if I had gotten a coffee and a pastry and played a board game this place would've been the bees knees. I would not suggest it unless it's the only thing open which on this Sunday in Potsdam, which it was. Update: I just read the other reviews for this place. I should've read them prior to coming as I would have looked elsewhere. They really should do better. It could be a wonderful spot. The menu is extensive. If you can't prepare a lot of food well, don't. Try preparing smaller menu VERY WELL. IMHO UPDATE 2: I had upset stomach all afternoon and evening within an hour of eating here

First off, the cafe / bakery is located in the quaint and cosy town of Richmond in Ottawa inside a historic hospital that has been converted to the bakeshop and owners home. As you enter, you're greeted by the most kind staff who make you feel welcome right away (bonus is that they are very kid friendly as well) We ordered the brunch special which was a raisin French toast, home fried, bacon and sausage along with tea and a butter tart. While the food here shares names with things you think you may see elsewhere, there is no comparison. It's next level. They baked the bread for the French toast in house and everything is meticulously prepared with real attention to detail. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed while the food quality is that of a fancy restaurant. On the way out, the owner gave out son a baked apple fritter that was so delicious. I give this place 5 solid stars for service, food and atmosphere! My only regret is not taking more photos - I will try to get some on my next visit which I assure you, there will be plenty of. So…read morehere's a brief history, I like sticky buns and I cannot lie, the other brothers can't deny, that Packenham had the best in the space, till the recipe ended up in Carleton place. Plagiarized raps out of the way, here's my review... We heard that CP general store had amazing sticky buns and were further intrigued when rumours circulated that they had the recipe from the OG Packenham General store. We made two attempts to drive the CP to get them but the staff who was there said that they didn't have them at the time we went. I called on a Saturday morning and asked if they could put some aside.... Not only did she put some aside, she was kind enough to remember us and put a bow and ribbon on this really nice gift box for my son. We got a few other things as well, they had cheese sticks, a couple of seltzer type drinks and the butter tarts. Lemme first talk about the butter tarts - they are unlike any other butter tart and I don't think I can get them from anywhere else now - they were so delicious and although sweet, the pack of 6 disappeared over two days. Now for the sticky buns: holy shit so good, you gotta get them! That's all I gotta say - just gooey and delectable! The staff - five star! The entrance is a shared entrance with a gift and antique store so overall a really nice experience. The Carleton Place General Store gets 5 stars from me.
