Stopped by for lunch after hitting up Grotto Azzurra and wanted to try the famous Ravioli Capresi dish before setting off the island.
The location is wonderful--spectacular views of the sea in a relaxing setting, accommodated by crisp, summery breezes. Surprisingly, this restaurant is very low-key, given its location at one of Capri's main attractions.
Had the Ravioli Capresi--one of the signature dishes of the island--and being someone with a huge appetite, this dish seemed small and not filling at first, with meager amounts of raviolis, but it filled me up just right to satiation. Perhaps it was the amount of Parmigiana-Reggiano and ricotta cheese that was filling, but this was probably the first made-from-scratch pasta dishes that I've had in Italy, and I cannot compare it to anything else. I savored every bite, and it was so worth it.
The service was slow, but also a bit too fast-paced for no reason; the basket of breadsticks on my table were taken after my meal, before I could even touch them again. Mid-range prices, which is about the average price you'd pay for food on the island. read more
