Bought this class pass as a Groupon for my son and he loved it!!!…read more He has not done this before but the staff there did their best to make sure he felt comfortable and really took the time to show him the proper technique. I loved the orientation lesson they gave plus the detailed beginner packet It's not only a great class for kids but a great confidence booster for the kids as the staff really are great at making each kid feel special and acknowledged. Really good instructors, fun class and small enough group where they don't feel ignored. Highly recommend for your first time!!

Master Dalton (the new owner) takes a special interest in each student's learning and progress. He seems to genuinely care and we are so proud of the example and standard he sets for our son. Master Lee is still an instructor here and I'm very grateful to her as well- we always appreciated her and Master Kim for the exceptional training they offered. They're the reason we've stayed these 5 years. If you are considering trying tkd- this is a great place to begin your journey! If you tried Seattle TKD before but were turned of by the owner- I would urge you to give it another look.

Our son started attending Master Lee's school in 2019, and just recently received his black belt…read more The program has been incredible for him, building skills in Tae Kwon Do, but also cultivating patience, discipline, and respect. Master Lee's teaches the school, along with his wife and son. His other black belt students also assist in teaching, from helping in weekday classes, to teaching specific black belt and danbo classes on the weekend. Every instructor we have encountered shows kindness and respect, and clearly cares about the students they are working with. At the same time, they hold to the same standards and expectations set out by Master Lee. The school has been an amazing part of our family for more than seven years now, and we are so thankful to be part of the YS Lee family. We highly recommend Master Lee's school to kids and adults alike!

My son's interest in martial arts led our family to research a number of schools and styles before…read morewe found YS Lee Martial Arts. From our first meeting with Master Lee, it was clear that this was the right place for us to study Taekwondo--not merely for technique, but for the discipline, confidence, respect, and steady personal growth that come with serious training. I came in with prior experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and boxing, so I appreciate that every martial art has its own strengths, purpose, and learning path. What I have found at YS Lee is a school that teaches Taekwondo with real structure and intention. Master Lee expects students to be present, work hard, show respect, and develop the patience required to improve over time. Those expectations have been a strength, not a limitation. Over my years of training here, I have earned my 2nd Dan, and my son has earned his black belt. I have watched him grow not only in ability, but also in confidence, focus, resilience, and character. The lessons learned on the mats cannot be "speed run" like a video game--or reduced to simply collecting techniques, ranks, or certificates. They take time, repetition, humility, perseverance, and a willingness to keep showing up. The school has been a positive part of our family's life, and the community is welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in students' progress at every age and level. We are grateful to Master Lee and YS Lee Martial Arts for the instruction, standards, and example they have provided our family.
