He makes every effort to prioritize professional decorum and safety. He's been instrumental in creating world champions, helping anyone achieve the goals they set for themselves, but most importantly keeping the atmosphere and utility of the gym a fun environment that you always feel welcomed in. If you've ever been curious about starting BJJ, but just a little timid to start because of the nature of the sport, there's no better place to start than under Michel. His patience and compassion for his students is really remarkable. I couldn't of picked anyplace better to start my BJJ journey and have never regretted it. The growth you gain from BJJ will transcend into so many aspects of your life. Best personal growth investment I've ever made training under Michel and the ghost squad.

My son has been training at Bom Jitsu for 7 months now and absolutely loves it. The staff and…read moreinstructors all make him feel welcome and he has truly become part of the Bom Jitsu family. Kids classes (my son is 12) are held Monday through Thursday and also on Friday for those seeking to compete. The facility is clean, generally has a lot of space for the kids to warmup and then roll, and the professors all treat the kids respectfully - although they do push them to work hard and improve their technique. I want to especially commend Professor Gui and Professor Rebekah for all their positive interactions with my son. They both always make it a point to say hello and speak to him before class, asking how he is doing, how school is going, and just general questions about him. That personal touch has not gone unnoticed by me, and other parents have commented on the same for their children. Adult classes are also offered, and from the turn out I see each evening (classes begin immediately after the kids class, at 6pm) - the adult students are also impressed with the facility and instruction. Bom Jitsu is truly a family and I am glad to have found them in Castle Rock.

Understand the Terms Before Committing…read more Castle Rock Martial Arts offers a structured and engaging training experience, but as with any membership-based program, it's important to fully understand the terms before enrolling. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems that I share a similar experience with others regarding clarity around membership commitments and billing practices. In fact, 4 out of 14 reviews (including mine)(at this current time), which is over 28%, express concerns about the same issues. Understanding details such as contract terms, recurring charges, and the cancellation process can help prevent misunderstandings. Setting clear expectations from the start ensures a smoother experience.

He knows how to talk to the kids but also calls them out if they're being distracted or inappropriate. He's very understanding of the younger kids, he doesn't expect them to do much when they're new. The only rule is once you're off the mat, you need to stay off. I like that the class is only 30 mins long because my son tends to lose interest in things fast, even if it's things he likes. Coach has the weekly curriculum posted on the wall which I appreciate since I have no idea what the skills are called The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I wish there was more space. The mats are fine but the area where the parents sit can get kind of full. He has a shelf of snacks and fridge of refreshments as well for purchase.
