I went to this salon wanting a blonde balayage. My natural hair is dark brown, and to minimize…read moredamage, I specifically requested blonde highlights based on my own natural base color. I even showed them photos with colors from the same tone family. During the process, hairstylist Amy kept asking her manager about which color to use and how long to leave it on, which made me feel uneasy. She called me over to check the color while my hair was wrapped in foil and even brought me to the manager. One thing that made me feel a bit uncomfortable was When it was time to wash my hair, she didn't speak but just pointed with her finger for me to come over. In the end, they gave me a blonde color mixed with some grayish ash tones instead of what I wanted. They said the photos I showed had ash tones too, and that ash colors eventually fade. They also admitted that the color ended up way too gray, which was not what I wanted. They promised to do a retone for free. The next day, I asked for a refund. At first, I insisted on a full refund, but they refused, saying the photos I chose had various colors and that I didn't want brown. (But looking at the result, it's clear that it's not just missing the brown color -- overall, it's very different from the photos I showed.) So I ended up accepting only half of the refund. This was by far the worst salon experience I've ever had. Other stylists might be different, but I strongly do not recommend Amy.

Now the salon is at Salons by JC, so do not go to jc penny's like I did at first! Once there, Jaymee immediately put me at ease by giving suggestions and asking questions about what I wanted (to chop off inches and color a balayage). The process took a few hours, so if you're going for this, be sure to block off an afternoon. I really appreciated that she scheduled enough time for me and didn't overbook. She worked on me and only me, which I loved! When she finished styling my now shorter and highlighted hair, I took one look and said, "I have Pinterest hair now!" She made me look amazing!!! I would 100% recommend her and will definitely be going back. Her price was reasonable, her attitude was amazing and I literally feel like a new person!
