Non traditional bride review - Beautiful gowns, but not out-of-the-box…read more This was a hard one to rate. I was initially excited because the website seemed so different from other bridal shops and even specified a black dress and pants suits and breaking out of the mold. I spent time filling out a questionnaire including a link to my Pinterest board. When I arrived the sales person Cora seemed somewhat surprised to see me and did not have many samples picked out (like other stores will do) and did not seem to have read my questionnaire. As a last minute bride, there were off the rack options that I could choose from which I appreciated. BUT I feel like the way the store markets their brand is very different than what they actually offer. Other than some Pop culture decor, I did not see the store as being edgier than other bridal shops. There was one black gown in the display window and a handful of statement pieces on a tiny trunk show rack, but I found myself bored of the explosion of white dresses (and champagne being the primary alternative color) and craving the experience I expected from the description paragraph on the website. I rated it a four because I am taking ownership of not fully vetting all of the designers they carry - but hope one day I can find a non-cliche shop that doesn't feel like it's trying so hard with the aesthetic like Flutter.

So when I started thinking about a wedding dress, I wanted to try to find a vintage number that fit both me and my style. I was so happy to learn about Andrea's because I wanted to shop leisurely (not get into an ebay bidding war) and try thing on (even if the measurements seem right, it may not look good once it's on). The shop is loosely organized by era, but you can pull from any rack if something catches your eye. I especially liked Andrea's vision in seeing how a dress could be altered--different neckline, shorter length, a change to the bodice--to fit the designs I was most interested in. A nice, low-pressure environment, but don't bring your whole entourage. There really isn't room for more than one or two extra people, and the dressing rooms are pretty small considering the volume of some of the dresses. Obviously the assortment changes all the time, but the day I was there I saw dresses ranging from about $300 to $1600. I was also impressed by the selection of vintage accessories, including sweet birdcage veils and embellished headbands.

I felt that we were scoffed at because it was just my daughter and I (not a huge group there to support). I feel like being offered a bottle of water would be a nice touch since you have to pay to even have an appt. I wasn't allowed to "shop" the store with my daughter and she was really rushed and pressured to try on dresses that weren't her style. We were never given a moment to even talk about the dresses privately, it all just felt very impersonal. She asked the canned questions of course, but it didn't come across as genuine. I had high hopes, but it fell short. Will definitely purchase from a different boutique.

I don't know that there are enough words for how wonderful my experience was at Che Bella! Che…read moreBella was the first stop of the day for my mother and I. Upon arrival we were greeted right away by two ladies, one of which was my consultant Jenna. She listened while I explained what my vision was (which was all over to be honest) and price point. She proceeded to show us around the racks and helped me select a number of dress while she also pulled some on her own. While trying on dresses she was always there to help unzip/zip me and was always there to offer advise or answer questions as my mom and I evaluated each dress. I was shocked at how many dresses I loved in the store, the selection was amazing! As the end of my 90min appointment was nearing I still had a few dresses to try and Jenna was kind enough to let me continue to try dresses on! On top of that my mother and I always had full water glasses. We eventually left, with a few dresses that we loved in mind there that Jenna wrote down for us. The next two stops for us could not hold a flame to the experience we had at Che Bella. Flutter, the second stop was great and had fine service but the dresses were just not my taste. Our third stop, The Wedding Shoppe was TERRIBLE! I was not even given my full 90 min appointment before my consultant ended it. I told her designers I liked, she never brought them in. Told her I wanted to try something with less/no lace, she brought more and more lace. Told her I wanted to try something strapless, she kept bring dresses with straps! After leaving my mother and I called Che Bella right away to see if we could come back and try a few more dresses on. They informed us they were closing in 45mins but to come on back! Once returning to Che Bella ( about 20 mins before close) Jenna was there to greet us again and had pulled the dresses that were my favs from that morning. I tried them all on, saving the best for last! Wearing that last dress I looked in the mirror behind me only to see my mom crying and Jenna even tearing up! It was a genuine moment and I appreciated it, Jenna took the time to get to know me and my mom, she actually cared that I was happy, that is customer service at its finest. As my mother and I cried after I said yes to the dress Jenna came out with champagne for my mom, myself and her! My mom and I sat in the closed shop and enjoyed a moment that we will never have again as a mother and daughter. Jenna and all the ladies at Che Bella, thank you for giving us that moment, it meant the world. I can not recommend a better place to have one of the most special moments in your life!

I did not go with a dress from here, mostly because I liked others equally and they were cheaper. The staff was friendly, though I was surprised the attendant did not help me get into my dresses. There is space for only 2-3 appointments at once, so they do feel intimate. Good natural lighting for getting a feel for the dress. They are pretty strict on the 4 guest max rule. They weren't too pushy and didn't follow up after we left (which I appreciated). Overall I would recommend adding Che Bella to your dress appointment list! Great restaurant (Gai Noi) and park (Loring) nearby for a true girls afternoon!

I received my dress 5 weeks late from their contractual delivery date with no explanation, proactive communication, or apology. I was assured that I would not need to rush order the dress. The dress fit me beautifully in the store, but I was encouraged to order closer to my listed size according to the designer chart, so I wasn't worried about it being late until I tried it on and it was 2-3 sizes too large. The tailoring appointments they offered were for dates before my dress even arrived. Being out of state, I had to bring my dress to another tailor that a friend recommended, who explained the dress would have to be recut and entirely reconstructed because it was so large. My measurements had not changed from the time I tried on the dress on at TWR 7 months earlier. The tailoring estimate was nearly 40% of the purchase price of the dress, so I reached out to TWR to express my frustration. They offered only $150 for a "rush fee" because it was late. They refused to acknowledge any accountability until I told them I lodged official complaints. When I finally spoke to Carmen, she accused me of sending fake pictures, my tailor of being dishonest, implied that I should be grateful because "some girls don't even get their dresses," and told me that I hurt her feelings telling her I didn't trust TWR to do any further business with or to stick to a contract when she offered to do the alterations in a few hours (the alterations took 3 days at my tailor). Their contract did not seem to come with any sort of integrity on their end. Your wedding gown is an investment and brides are under such tight timelines that you expect a luxury boutique to respect. Although many brides have had great experiences here, I can only speak for mine, and I would not trust or recommend TWR to do business with.

She didn't ask as many questions as the other shop we went to but the dresses she pulled were right on. Parking in this area can be challenging but the nearby ramp provided ample parking. I loved their selection and fell in love with a dress here and my gosh I can't stop thinking about it. I had such a great team (bridesmaids) helping me out and honestly can't rave enough about this place. It's so hard picking a gown and having a stylist helping you out go though different styles is super helpful. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision then about the dress but I left feeling like I had found the one. Now I did continue dress shopping as I'm pretty early on my journey but know that when it comes to making a decision at the end it will come down to one of the dresses in this store ( not the one pictured here) Honestly trying on dresses can be uncomfortable for people that don't have the type of body dresses are designed for so I'm keeping that in mind. I'm petite, midsize, and on the curvier side so I already knew when I tried on dresses they wouldn't fit me completely or some wouldn't go passed my hips which was fine but I was still made super comfortable! To get park here you are definitely going to want to use the parking garage near by or try to find street parking but that can be a bit difficult. I had suck a great experience here and will be coming back again to try on the dress I fell in love with.

I would strongly recommend against A & Bé Bridal Shop in Edina, MN…read more I truly had a nightmare experience, and I would never wish that level of stress and frustration on any fellow bride. I purchased my wedding dress and paid in full nearly a year before my August wedding. I was told it would arrive by February. After not hearing anything, I emailed them in mid-February to ask for an update. That was when I learned, through a generic email, that my dress had arrived stained and had already been shipped back to the designer. There was no return date provided and no clear plan in place. I was never informed that the dress had arrived, that it was stained, or that it needed to be sent back for cleaning. There was also a possibility that the dress would need to be completely remade if the stain could not be removed. When I asked why no one had contacted me, I was told it was "company policy" not to inform brides in these situations in order to "prevent stress." Ironically, finding out weeks later with no communication created far more stress. Even after I requested them, I was never provided photos of the stain or updates on whether the dress would need to be remade after the cleaning attempt failed. Eventually coming to find out (after several phone calls asking for updates) that it would need to be remade and would be several months late. I had to cancel my alteration appts, PTO from work, travel for my mom to come in for the final fitting, and find a new seamstress that could get me in under a condensed timeframe. Throughout the several month affair, the only updates I got were from me initiating them. Never once would they take initiative to update me on the timeline, dress status, or any updates for that matter. The customer service was beyond unprofessional from the bridal studio and the designer. When I finally got to pick up my dress, not a single person apologized for the inconveniences, acknowledged the mistakes, or made me feel even an ounce of excitement to pick up my dress. Instead, I could not wait to finally put to bed my entire experience with this studio and never have to return. Learn from my mistake. Go to Grace Loves Lace, Vow'd, The Wedding Shoppe, Anthropologie, or anywhere else in the Minneapolis area before choosing this studio. During what should have been one of the happiest times of my life, I was made to feel like an inconvenience and was often treated as though my concerns were unreasonable.
