this company is a scammer. i was treated in the emergency room at holy cross hospital for a neck injury and was provided a flimsy foam and plastic neck brace, photo attached. they charged my insurance company $164 for this piece of junk that i could obtain for under $20 from many on-line stores. they claim to accept"all insurances". my insurance company processed the claim as out of network and applied it to my deductible. i called the company many times before i actually spoke to a live person who told me that they could not adjust the price because it would be insurance fraud. scammers like this company are what is wrong with the u.s. health care system. if you are offered a "medical device" at holy cross hospital, you should refuse it or you too will be a victim of this company's scam. read more

This is a shoddy circus side show company you do not want to work for! The office manager does not have a real human resource degree, she bad mouths ex-employees and current employee's during upper management office meetings (which they failed to remember that I sat in on those meetings). This is unprofessionalism at its best but they will preach about how Grace Care is a professional office, are you serious?? A real manager with common sense would never talk about employee's who no longer work for the company, they moved on & you should too. They hire and fire people on a monthly basis for stupid reasons then cry when they don't get new applicant's to fill the vacant job openings. Duh!! Shoddy outfit and an example of why our health costs are so high. Upon discharge from the hospital, I was given a walker for home use. A month later I received a bill from Grace Care, LLC for $175. The bill identified my insurance carrier and indicated that "any insurance provided has been applied." The identical walker sells for $27-45 online -- that's a 500% mark-up from the retail price! I called Grace to question the cost. (1) I discovered that Grace hadn't processed a claim through my insurance. They also couldn't tell me -- at least the first time I called -- how much would be covered. So, I called my insurance. But Aetna couldn't tell me how much either because they needed a CPT code and Grace's invoice didn't have one. (Aetna did tell me that 70% of the "usual and customary charge" was covered.) After a second call to Grace, I found out the average usual and customary charge for the $175 walker was $51. I also found out the CPT code. (2) As an aside, I mentioned to Grace that I hadn't even used the walker; indeed, it still had the tags on. Grace said it couldn't take a return, but I should return it to the hospital. Not surprisingly, the hospital wouldn't take a return. Grace's personnel were very friendly, but the company's business practices are at best misleading and possibly fraudulent. (1) The company charges $175 for a $27-45 walker. (2) The company's invoice falsely states that it applied your insurance, which encourages the unwitting customer to pay the full $175. (If the insurance had been processed and applied, Grace would have been limited to $51 in payment -- 70% from insurance and 30% from me.) (3) The company omits critical information from its invoice -- the CPT code. ADVICE: DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AND BEWARE OF DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT ISSUED AT THE HOSPITAL. read more

Please be aware that hospitals use Grace care to supply medical supplies without you knowing the cost. I RETURNED the unused medical equipment because it duplicated what I had at home. It was cleared by the hospital and put back into stock. However, my insurance company was billed for it. What bad business practice! read more

Not happy with this company at all. The day I started my new job, I slipped on the ice and severely sprained my ankle. Went to the ED via ambulance (thought it was broken). Unfortunately, my insurance had not yet kicked in so had to pay the hospital, ambulance, doctor bill, radiology fee, etc. I was also sent a bill from Grace Care LLC for crutches and a boot for my foot. The bill from Grace Care was over $600.00 and was by far the highest bill of all.....it is double what the doctor and emergency room bills were. They are charging me $90.00 for the crutches and $500.00 for the boot!!!! I found the exact same boot sold online for $60-$90 and crutches for $29.99 on Amazon. This is clearly a case of taking advantage of the consumer..I realize that to make money they inflate the cost of these items for the insurance companies, but I believe it is criminal to charge those same fees to consumers who are self-pay. I am disgusted by this practice. As a health care provider myself, I will never recommend this company to anyone and will always give my patients the advice to purchase such items themselves to avoid this kind of a rip off. read more

I started getting dunning notices from a credit agency this company uses and had no idea what for. They have a blind phone number on their website and when I finally found their number detail searching the web I couldn't get anywhere because nobody would answer their extension. So make sure that you call them. After mailing in a virtual card number on my bill of which I only paid a partial amount (and I had written the amount I wished to pay on the stub), they tried to charge the WHOLE amount to the card number I had given them. Of course there was only $50 on the card. So it was denied. I didn't realize it because it was actually a "gift card" that should have been used up with that payment. Only when I got a SECOND bill showing the original amount, with NO PAYMENT posted PLUS a $10 late fee did I call. I looked at the card "statement" and saw where they tried to post the full amount of the bill. I told the lady I could give her the card number again if she would only run it for $50. I asked her after it went through could she please look at getting the late fee removed as I had sent it in on time and didn't even have insurance to help. She didn't act like she wanted to remove the charge because I had only made a partial payment, but then asked me to hold. After holding she came back and said she had applied a discount code since no insurance was used and it was now paid in full. SO MAKE SURE YOU CALL!! read more
