This business is definitely a hybrid that provides a large selection of meats and specialty items but also provides home cooked take-out and plate lunches that can be eaten onsite if y-u choose. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating while working hard to provide a great customer experience to what seems to be an endless line of loyal local customers which is always a great sign. All the daily offerings are displayed in a pair of glass enclosed steam tables so the food for the most part doesn't sit around for long. After looking at the selection we chose fried ribs, a fried pork chop, rice dressing and green beans everything was delicious. We did take a few minutes after our meal to explore the meat cases and will likely stop back to try a few things, this shop is extremely clean and organized...

We were looking for lunch and really did not want any of the chain fast food places that we have in Houston. I was on Yelp mobile but we found this place by just driving by (we got lost lol). We stopped on a whim and man I am glad we did! You order at the counter from a board and then serve yourself to your drink and they bring your food out to you. Everything sounded so good but as soon as I saw the Po'Boys I knew what I was having. The shrimp Po'Boy was $7.50 and I added fries and a drink to make it a combo; hubby had the cheeseburger combo and our total bill was $17, I think. The lady at the counter was super sweet and very helpful. The bread of my po'boy was so fresh and so good and the shrimp was delicious! It tasted fresh and had a wonderful flavor. Hubby was also impressed with his cheeseburger; he said it was moist and juicy and just greasy enough. No, this isn't healthy food, although they had salads; this is fried, greasy goodness. But not the dripping with so much grease I'm going to die right now kind; no, this is the just enough grease that I know it's gonna be damn good kind! I'm not sure when we will be back in Lake Charles, but if we are, I'm heading here!!
