They couldn't do an accurrate bid and continued to go up and up and up! Logan lied multiple times to my elderly mother. The price didn't go up a little bit the prices went up thousands over $6000.00. The way they send you the bid if you do not downloaded or print it when they updated the bids the previous bid disappears and this is when Logan started to lie. He said we always said X when we never said it. Logan was so bad the owner Victor became our primary contact because we could not trust Logan. Upfront: They ask whats your budget then give you a spineless amount around your budgeted amount and raise it with each conversation even though you gave them all of this information up front. We asked them to order everything and have it in stock before beginning the job. They said they had everything but lied. We had to wait because the flooring people were out of the tile because they didn't order it as they said. The same thing happened with the shower walls they were out of the color we wanted. Do not trust them. They said 2 weeks from start to finish it was 90+ days. I knew 2 weeks was wrong but thought it would be quicker then over 90 days. So many issues I can't even list them all. Best thing about them was the man that did all the work Blake was good however his hands were tied due to Logan and he needed to keep his job.

I found Rick on yelp, read his reviews and picked him based on similar type of work. Read the negative reviews he had but contacted him anyway. Without knowing or meeting him he immediately set up an appointment to see the job through my tenant. After the site visit he prepared a detailed proposal, which looked like he was familiar with the scope of work I needed. He did this almost contactless with my tenant, which I appreciated in this era of Covid. We reviewed the written proposal over the phone, came to a meeting of the minds really fast. My tenant was moving out in 2 weeks so he agreed to start the work the day they moved. I needed quick turnaround so I could re-rent the property. All the time I was long distance, never meeting him and he completed the work (replaced sill plates) in 3 days.i met Rick 2 days after he finished the work. I was pleasantly surprised, he executed the work exactly as the proposal stated. Prices were very reasonable. Timing was better than I would have expected. Rick Miller, owner of RDM Construction, was very courteous and knowledgeable. Rick dealt with the pricing and estimates himself and came by the project fairly often. He did have a construction manager on site that did a lot of the day to day operation and work. Rick's crew worked hard and seemed very trustworthy. We had some minor issues arise on occasion and Rick attempted to rectify them at minimal cost. Rick is a solid contractor to hire. All-in-all, RDM is a good "bulk" construction company. In other words, from my experience, they seem to do things like foundation work, framing, and stucco very well. Where they lacked a bit on my project was the finite details. PRO's Honest and trustworthy Does well with "bulk" contruction Always answered my calls promptly Lower cost price than the competitors CON's Finished work not always as detailed as it could have been Did not initiate contact regularly Was a bit over the time frame we had agreed to (though to be fair, some of this was weather related.) Initially, we had carpet in our home when we bought the house back in September of 2025. But before doing the floors, Victor and his team did our kitchen remodel. The brick backsplash in our kitchen turned out exactly the way we envisioned it to look. On top of doing the floor, Victor helped us create our vision of doing a beautiful brick floor that lined up against the fireplace. It transitioned very well to the PVL flooring we choose to do throughout the rest of the house. Throughout the entire projects, Victor provided wonderful customer service. He follows up daily ensuring that we were happy with the work. If any problems occurred, he would fix it and make sure we are happy before moving on to the next process. Finally our latest project with Victor and his team, was rebuilding our shower. It was leaking and needed to be built for the ground up. We had chosen to do a design layout from the 1980's. We had gone to other contractors but they didn't seem too interested and wanted to do some standard work. Juan listened and took some measurements. He asked how we wanted things to look. He asked about our old fence and mentioned he could build one. I asked about a sliding gate across the driveway. It would be 24ft long. Then we asked about a carport. We had just purchased a hi-top conversion van and wanted it protected. He took all of our ideas and his measurement and quoted a 3 phase project. The fence was done first and is 8ft tall with a 4ft gate and an 8ft X 24ft sliding gate. It is so smooth and easy to open or close. Next was the carport. fits two vehicles, one that is the conversion van, perfectly. The patio cover finished out the projects and looks great. We had him add a gutter to catch any rain and keep us dry. They are professional and did outstanding work. It made such a huge difference in our backyard that I feel we'll be spending many hours enjoying it all. Thank you Backyard Shades for transforming our backyard into a place we'll enjoy for years.
