Saw Lil Mo Mozzarella show it was great ! The food was good so was the service. The Fugetabout it burger is huge and worth every bite. Cool place overall, very well run. Can't wait for the next show.

Looking forward to your fun night.

This was a fun night. I definitely enjoyed laughing for the wonderful comedians performing at Governors. I was invited to this evening of charity for The Ronald McDonald House. The place was filled and we knew that a portion of the proceeds were going to a great cause. This along with all the raffle prizes. Lots of long tables filled with many people. I was definitely comfortable sitting at the end of the table on the isle. One of the treats of the night is that I new a few of the comedians as I have photographed them at prior shows my friend puts on for Comedy, Inc. It was just a nice evening with many friends, (some I have not seen for a while.) Lots of laughter, lots of truth in many of the routines. I even ordered a burger and fries. The food was not bad at all. My big surprise was there was no refill to the Ice Tea which is served in a small. glass with lots of ice. I was also a little surprised that the tip is added to the check and I was not told by the server. This was my first time at Governors and definitely look forward to a return trip. KUDOs to the team at Governor's who make this all come together seamlessly.

It had been a million lifetimes ago since I have been to Governor's and I must say that the entire experience exceeded my expectations. It did not seem as cheesy or grimy as I had remembered. In fact, it looked kind of "spiffy". The tables were as I remembered, long on the floor and large in the top 2 tiers. The show we saw was very funny..some excellent comedians. There is an extensive food menu & to be safe I went with the Burger, which was exceptional... really. My sister however had the grilled chicken & vegetables which was terribly dry & really a disappointing waste, so stick with the pub food (she can't have gluten or soy) We had a very hard working, delightful server who I suspected had been there for a very long time, when I asked she said she was at the other location (Brokerage in Bellmore that is now Governor's Brokerage) for 47 years. Amazing !! Lastly, to my surprise because the drink menu did not have any prices on it, my small Martini was only 12 dollars. Not terrible. I would absolutely return again for a top act & some laughter. Maybe a Yelp event ? A UYE ?

I recently attended a fundraiser, which was hosted at Governors. Was not sure what to expect but this was my first time at Governor's. The show featured 5 comics and they were very good. We had some appetizers such as barbecue wings, nachos with a melted cheese, and some quesadillas. The wait staff was super efficient and courteous. They checked in with you frequently to ensure you had everything you desired. Interestingly, once you pay for your food and beverages, they give a paid card for all of the folks in your party that you must present at the door to leave. My only question is what happens if you lose this card. Our tables were these long rectangular tables, which were perpendicular to the stage, so we had to shift our bodies to see the acts. Not a big deal. The lighting was red in the club, not sure why but all the pictures came out red Definitely will return to this spot.

Used to be called the "Lil Room". They put this sign to cover up the old name. Not sure what the room is called, but is certainly crammed.

Comedy is always going to be the right recipe to lift your spirits, enjoy time out with some friends, and have an overall good time without having to trek into NYC. We went to see the headliner Bobby Bannon (who absolutely crushed it). Really funny guy, I recommend seeing him. The other comics were funny and entertaining as well. Ticket prices are great, and you actually could catch free shows from time to time. You gotta order drinks and food though. Not an issue. Food was ok. Only thing about governors is the layout, be prepared to be crammed, not too comfortable, and kind of long wait times just to use the head. Service is ok, but again, kind of slow because it's hard to maneuver. Other than that, was a nice night out.

Dice man tonight! What a show

We're coming from Suffolk County to see the headliner, Andrew Dice Clay. (Who killed it!) My gripe is with Governor's Comedy Club. Granted the times we're in you have to be forgiving. This is the new normal so having a night out is a treat. The show is under a covered tent in the parking lot, I'll still take a night out. My issue is, we had 4 tickets. My son and his girlfriend both had a nasty cough. We told them to stay home, it wouldn't be right to the folks sitting around us. (They're fine, just a bad cough) My wife & I get to the club and we're seated outside. We're told Governor's Comedy Club must serve food with alcohol, not a biggie. We each order a drink and a bite to eat. The waitress tells us since our guests did not arrive, we have to order food and drinks for their seats as well?? Governor's Comedy Club, that is just sucky move... All comedy acts performed in front of plastic plexi glass, the comics made the night work. Still pissed we had to order extra drinks & food for the empty seats. Another plus was seeing Big Time Tommie outside with his caddy. I even said Yo, Big Time! He said Yo back. Governor's Comedy Club? #middlefinger

Visit Date: May 25, 2022…read more I came here to see VHS perform. My boyfriend is a drummer with VHS and I catch as many of his gigs that I possibly can. My son was with his dad that night so we loaded up his drums in my car after I got out of work got to prohibition and set up for the show. The food we had was pretty good. We got a half pepperoni, half cheese half sized pizza and mozzarella sticks. The venue itself is a little bit smaller for live music. But when the weather is good they have a window with barrel tables and seats so you can sit outside to hear the musicians play. I was alternating between being outside and inside. My boyfriend's mom who I love came to the gig as well so I was spending time with her outside and time inside dancing and checking out the band. The bar is pretty big and they have one more area after you pass the bathrooms with some tables for hanging out. I liked the feel of prohibition besides the space being somewhat small and the food was good. I can't say anything about the alcohol although I'm guessing except for specialty cocktails it's probably the same as anywhere else. I've been sober for over 2 years now so if I'm at a bar it's for music and food.

There is also advertising on the large screens so you can keep up to date to see what is coming in the future that you may be interested in seeing. Parking is free and if it is really crowded, there are people in the parking lot directing you as to where to park. There is no guesswork with where you should place your car. There is also quick access to the parkway. You have to go thru a metal detector once you get there and if you have a handbag or a knapsack, they will ask you to step aside so it can be inspected, The seats are very comfortable but the seat numbers are not readily visible-I had to ask someone if I was in the correct seat. I would recommend for any live performance.

There was a line to go through security, but that was a pretty quick process. You couldn't bring in food/water, but you could buy a can of water, which is not such a great way to store water for ongoing needs. Of course food/drink was way overpriced as is expected at venues you can't bring your own. Almost a non-existing merch section, but that may be more about the audience than the venue. The circular rotating stage allowed us to have a better view/be closer than a venue with the same capacity with a forward-centered stage. The sound was nice where you could hear very clearly without the sound being overbearing. The only big issue (which is true for a lot of venues) is the poor design to leave the parking lot and everyone merging in together to a singular light to leave. I'm not sure how much can be done to revise this, but it's a pretty big factor in us contemplating if we want to return or not.

I can't say enough about the Killing Kompany…read more We found them through attending the shows at Ruth's Chris. We decided to hire them to do our wedding. We started off the day with the power going out. There was uncertainty about what was going on with our wedding, but of course the show must go on. Luckily they had a battery operated sound system that allowed us to be able to speak on the mics during the ceremony. It saved the ceremony, for sure. The power went on right after we kissed (awww). The show was fantastic after that. They kept everyone upbeat. They were funny, and great, and I loved every minute of it. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. The way they handled disaster was amazing. Jon kept my husband (!!) on the positive side during panic. Everybody raved about how great they were and how much fun they had. I knew that they would be awesome, but their help with this crazy situation helped to save our wedding. Can't wait to attend more shows! Eventually we'll solve it, I promise!

It's a murder mystery at a restaurant or bar. So, I want to say that cute maybe isn't the best word…read moreto use to explain it. Tonights was out in Patchogue, LI at a bar restaurant called OFF KEY TIKKI. The food though they tried, wasn't good. I believe one of the meat dishes might have been bad and I stuck with the turkey. When you go to these events, the food is usually standardly basic and its the show you are really there for. Bar drinks and desserts were not incorporated in the 60. dollar plus added gratuity to the total, paid before entering. This murder mystery was a bit uhh quirky. One note is to, be there on time. I was under the impression that it was food from 7:30 - 8:00 pm and then the performance murder mystery. Just at 8:00 I walked in and already had missed the gun shooting of the lead victim. The young lady playing the cop, went right along in roll and questioned me as to why I was late and where I was a short time ago. The police officer she was portraying had clothing not up to snuff with black sneakers. The overall acting could have used tweaking. But as it is for entertainment, I went along and got into it asking people around me all kinds of questions. There was a scene of someones head but it was not made clear to the audience quite how that fit in. However Jon Avner artistic director and founder of the company, who writes and customizes the stories to fit the request and need of the people who higher his company, actually was pretty funny and acted well in the part with the interaction of the audience participants. Some of them were pretty funny too. Near the end of the performance the audience and suspects are given a paper form to fill out along with a pencil that reads Murder? 1-888 shoot em and asking to write, basically, Who done it and why. Then the chosen best audience actors get a few gifts and the person who comes closest to the correct-who done it gets a shirt and some other goodies, this time including some handcuffs. Again, all in good fun. Ok, so I was the one who logically wrote that it was the Lieutenant. It wasn't. But I choose not to say more to prevent any spoiler alert. As for the place, while the people there were nice and it is a local bar and not one I would likely frequent, 3 stars is about it for their rating.

It is a long review, but if you are planning an event, I urge you to read this until the end…read more Planning my son's Bar Mitzvah was a daunting task. The expense and amount that needed to be done was overwhelming and I needed to figure out a way to rein it in. Hiring a DJ for a Bar Mitzvah is a must, but it isn't as simple as that. The company is also responsible for providing the rest of the kids activities and, most importantly, keeping the party entertaining and flowing. Having recently moved to Connecticut and not put on an affair like this in over two decades since my wedding, I had no idea who to go to and how to keep in manageable. Also, living in CT and never having lived on Long Island, I obviously had no awareness of Great Neck Games. Randomly, an acquaintance at my Synagogue mentioned them in passing. It was honestly the greatest thing that happened to me in planning the event. Although, I am not saying it was cheap in any way, they worked with me on price and activities in order to keep the cost manageable. But, honestly, I still had no idea what to expect day of and how it would all actually take shape. The low hanging fruit was all done flawlessly. Everything that we ordered was delivered and the room looked beautiful. But, it was the little things and the people that made this event so much better than a run-of-the-mill Bar Mitzvah (see below for two of many amazing photos). Everyone was so happy and had such a great time and I credit DJ Keith Webb along with (I wish I knew their names) the MC and motivators. Keith was so much more than just a DJ. We had a separate room for the adults and he brought a speaker and playlist so they had music in that room. There was no charge for this as he just wanted to help make the event a success. He helped me negotiate the price on a couple of things we needed last minute to keep us within budget. He had a smile on his face the entire time that could fill the room. I am so grateful to him and wish I had the ability to hire him time and again. And, the MC...don't get me started on how great he was. I feel bad that I still don't know his name, but as you can imagine the day was a whirlwind and there was lots going on. He was simply special. He made every kid and adult feel like it was their day as well. But, he especially made my son feel like he should at a party of this magnitude. The motivators, two beautiful and talented women, were equally responsible for making both kids and adults feel engaged, happy and special. They were perfect. I am going to cut this here as it is crazy long, but I cannot thank Great Neck Games enough for what they did. I didn't want to put on such an expensive affair, but they did something I didn't think was possible - made me happy I did it. And, they truly deserve a large share of the credit.
