Have never been there before. Saw Joe DeVito there on 3/28/26. He was great and the 2 opening acts were great. Seating was tight but comfortable. The place was sold out. We had a table for 4 and we ordered 4 different things. A cheeseburger, nachos, mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. There was plenty to share and all of it was good. We mostly had sodas and bottled beer. I would go again and would recommend it to a friend. read more

The food was typical bar food. The burger was cooked well. The fries were tasty. My only complaint would be the small pasta salad it came with. Tasteless, small and not needed The soda I ordered came in a small glass. Would have like it bigger. I was afraid the order a refill as I didn't know if I would be charged for it The place is dark which I guess is typical of a comedy club. Everyone was opening the light on their phones to see the menu It also had a slight smell of beer. The server was adequate. Not very pleasant however The place is packed with tables. Great place for comedy. Servers was very attentive. We went the night before the big storm 1/24/26. The bahama mama mocktail and blue moon were good! However the chicken fingers leave much to be desired. Very crusty like it had freezer burn and was then microwaved. The fries also taste burnt too. It looked much better than it tasted. The brownie was okay, it was served hot and with some obviously artificial whipped cream. However we did enjoy the comedy acts. Bathroom-the last stall toward the end was way too tight. Haven't been to the Levittown location in a while , can I say everything was bad is an understatement. Put in a small room , seated near a bathroom. The table was the size 2 people would sit at , they put 4 of us there and said there was no other options. So everytime a comedian, host waitress or someone wanted to use the bathroom they would hit into one of us. I should of called the Fire Marshall because this was definitely a fire hazard violation ( to think I actually looked to see where the exits were just in case seems crazy) Drinks sucked , food disgusting sweet potato fries that tasted like the cooking oil hasn't been changed in forever and chicken wings. Comedians ehh . Last time ever, no one even cared .... Worst night out ever. Save yourself the $$ don't go here. read more

This was a fun night. I definitely enjoyed laughing for the wonderful comedians performing at Governors. I was invited to this evening of charity for The Ronald McDonald House. The place was filled and we knew that a portion of the proceeds were going to a great cause. This along with all the raffle prizes. Lots of long tables filled with many people. I was definitely comfortable sitting at the end of the table on the isle. One of the treats of the night is that I new a few of the comedians as I have photographed them at prior shows my friend puts on for Comedy, Inc. It was just a nice evening with many friends, (some I have not seen for a while.) Lots of laughter, lots of truth in many of the routines. I even ordered a burger and fries. The food was not bad at all. My big surprise was there was no refill to the Ice Tea which is served in a small. glass with lots of ice. I was also a little surprised that the tip is added to the check and I was not told by the server. This was my first time at Governors and definitely look forward to a return trip. i been going to governor for the past 30 years mostly Levitown and Bellmore but the past couple of years bohemia this place is a disaster take over an hour for the drinks to come out 2 hours for the food to come out and when it comes out all the orders are wrong you say something no one cares because they put a 20 percent tip on bill for them selves so they don't have to do a good job on top of that the comic are not funny don't waste your money at this place you will not be happy through this whole experience read more

It had been a million lifetimes ago since I have been to Governor's and I must say that the entire experience exceeded my expectations. It did not seem as cheesy or grimy as I had remembered. In fact, it looked kind of "spiffy". The tables were as I remembered, long on the floor and large in the top 2 tiers. The show we saw was very funny..some excellent comedians. There is an extensive food menu & to be safe I went with the Burger, which was exceptional... really. My sister however had the grilled chicken & vegetables which was terribly dry & really a disappointing waste, so stick with the pub food (she can't have gluten or soy) We had a very hard working, delightful server who I suspected had been there for a very long time, when I asked she said she was at the other location (Brokerage in Bellmore that is now Governor's Brokerage) for 47 years. Amazing !! Lastly, to my surprise because the drink menu did not have any prices on it, my small Martini was only 12 dollars. Not terrible. I recently attended a fundraiser, which was hosted at Governors. Was not sure what to expect but this was my first time at Governor's. The show featured 5 comics and they were very good. We had some appetizers such as barbecue wings, nachos with a melted cheese, and some quesadillas. The wait staff was super efficient and courteous. They checked in with you frequently to ensure you had everything you desired. Interestingly, once you pay for your food and beverages, they give a paid card for all of the folks in your party that you must present at the door to leave. My only question is what happens if you lose this card. Our tables were these long rectangular tables, which were perpendicular to the stage, so we had to shift our bodies to see the acts. Not a big deal. The lighting was red in the club, not sure why but all the pictures came out red Definitely will return to this spot. read more

I went to a Laugh Off here and it so much more fun that i expected. i thought a few laughs, but the comedians were great, the crowd is crazy packed and really adds to the vide. it's got a dive bar feel but so happy and i made friends. the food is surprisingly good. i had a burger - wow good by the way - and my table had the jalepeno poppers. read more

Came for a fun night with a group of 12. Place was crowded, comedian Brad upton was hysterical and def relatable to his routine. Was pleasantly surprised the place is very good for a night out. There was a food menu but we ate already the drinks weren't pricey. Place needs a face lift, dark and the carpet was sticky... yucky. But looking beyond that comedians were great. Nice fun night. Comedy is always going to be the right recipe to lift your spirits, enjoy time out with some friends, and have an overall good time without having to trek into NYC. We went to see the headliner Bobby Bannon (who absolutely crushed it). Really funny guy, I recommend seeing him. The other comics were funny and entertaining as well. Ticket prices are great, and you actually could catch free shows from time to time. You gotta order drinks and food though. Not an issue. Food was ok. Only thing about governors is the layout, be prepared to be crammed, not too comfortable, and kind of long wait times just to use the head. Service is ok, but again, kind of slow because it's hard to maneuver. Other than that, was a nice night out. read more

We're coming from Suffolk County to see the headliner, Andrew Dice Clay. (Who killed it!) My gripe is with Governor's Comedy Club. Granted the times we're in you have to be forgiving. This is the new normal so having a night out is a treat. The show is under a covered tent in the parking lot, I'll still take a night out. My issue is, we had 4 tickets. My son and his girlfriend both had a nasty cough. We told them to stay home, it wouldn't be right to the folks sitting around us. (They're fine, just a bad cough) My wife & I get to the club and we're seated outside. We're told Governor's Comedy Club must serve food with alcohol, not a biggie. We each order a drink and a bite to eat. The waitress tells us since our guests did not arrive, we have to order food and drinks for their seats as well?? Governor's Comedy Club, that is just sucky move... All comedy acts performed in front of plastic plexi glass, the comics made the night work. Still pissed we had to order extra drinks & food for the empty seats. Another plus was seeing Big Time Tommie outside with his caddy. I even said Yo, Big Time! He said Yo back. I came to Governor's to see my friend, Charles Ozuna, open up for Orlando Jones. Upon walking in, it gives the old school comedy club vibe you DONT GET now in these new grass wall places. It's a little divey but that was charming to me. My friend and I ordered appetizers and surprisingly, they didn't disappoint. It was the typical fare of wings (we got teriyaki flavor) but it was tasty and filling. The star of the show was the DRINKS we ordered. It was def served with a heavy hand just how it's supposed too. Our waitress, Mel was kind and attentive. Overall, it's a good MATURE place to go if you want to escape the over stylized lackluster places you have frequented. read more

Place is an absolute staple in Levittown and Long Island. I know what they say about Levittown, and you know what, they're right. You may see some people bbqing on their front lawns ( north side ) but they're probably really nice, and if you got to know them, they'd invite you to their backyard party where Camron is blasting on their Beats Pill. I'm from the good side of town, went to MacArthur, but we love Governors. Seen a bunch of shows here, one of our favorites was Tom Kelly's a few weeks ago. Lots of laughs, someone passed out in the Giggle Room, unfortunately not from laughter, but was quickly and professionally attended to. The openers were amazing also. The main room is so cool, and they pull some unreal talent. If you're in the area or looking for some of the best comedy on the island, I'd come early, take a tour of Tri County Flea Market, because there's always something interesting in there, eat some surprisingly real good food. So this brand has two locations one in Levittown, one in Bohemia. once you go to a show they will send you comp tickets for future shows. I actually like the Bohemia location better it seems a lot cleaner , the Levittown location not so clean but it's closer to home. The customer service at both locations is ok, the problem is when it's a full house , they have some challenges. But overall it's great to have your local comedy clubs so close to home and have a night out. So I highly encourage checking it out get some laughs in. read more

This place is disgusting. Roaches in the bathroom. Roaches on the floor. An hour and a half wait for food and drink. The floor is so sticky you can't walk. You come for an event and you wait an hour and a half for food. No one cares because you've paid the fee. Whether it be a comedian or a soap opera event, stay clear this place. GROSS ! read more

Let me just say that the comedians performing were good, so this stopped the review from being lower. If I could, I'd probably make it 2.5 stars. Unfortunately though, everything else about the venue didn't really make up for that. Myself and our party of seven were seated tightly in the giggle room which was in no way fit to accommodate all the people they shoved in there. You were back to back with the other chairs. I guess that's why "nachos" (aka a bowl of chips with side of cheese dip and salsa dip) took two hours to arrive. Ordered at 7:15 before the performers came on and didn't get it till after 9:00. They were incredibly understaffed; you could tell our server was overwhelmed and did not remember to bring the drinks either. Your best bet was leaving that room and going to the bar yourself, except you would've found the bartenders arguing and not making drinks. The crowd was awful; hecklers interrupting the sets with their own jokes, phones ringing, people shushing others, people coming in late and interrupting the sets, etc. One of the mics even stopped working mid performance and the guy had to yell with his own voice. Pretty much ruined their set. If you want decent amateur comedians with a crowd of people that either take their $20 ticket too seriously or heckle the performers the entire night along with food/drink orders that take hours to come, go to this place. read more

Awful experience. Did the dinner/show combo which seems like a good deal, but the food was bad. They squeeze you in like sardines in a can, literally to the point where you're bumping elbows into the people next to you trying to cut your food. It's definitely violating OSHA/Fire safety capacity regs. Since it's so tight, the servers are literally carrying trays of food above your heads..my server accidentally dropped a dessert plate all over me. She immediately apologized, and being a server myself I understood it wasn't her fault. However, she didn't do anything else, so I went to the front desk. I informed the manager what happened and she didn't offer to fix it or anything. She only asked which server it was and I said it wasn't her fault; it's packed in there. The manager simply said they were sold out. I had to ask for them to at least cover the dry cleaning charge for my jacket. I had chocolate all over my jacket, jeans and shoes. They could have at least offered to cover a drink or something after already spending almost $200.00 dollars. I could have been rude, nasty, and yelled, but I didnt. It was completely unprofessional and ruined the comedy show for me. I won't be going back there. It's too tight in there and they only care about packing the room out and making money, not about quality satisfaction and customer service. read more

Had an amazing time at a Steve Burton (General Hospital) meet and greet event tonight. Everything was super organized, the food was great and the service was phenomenal. There was a two drink and/or food item minimum per person. We ordered an appetizer, dessert and drinks and they were delivered to our table in less than 15 minutes. Super friendly staff. Tons of free parking too. Be sure to get there early for events like this if you want seats up front (at least an hour before doors open). VIP and non-VIP are seated together and wait on the same line. And, be sure to get a "PAID" ticket from your server before you leave. VIP photo ops after the show are taken with your cell phone, so be sure your phone is fully charged. read more

This is a DISASTER. Bought two VIP tickets $270.00 bucks it wasn't cheap. Plus a two drink minimum. For the General Hospital show. I'm sitting with general Admission with a obstructed view of a pole. Being that I do events for a living I'll tell you what the problem is. They clearly oversold on VIP tickets more than they can handle. They also made the VIP people who paid a lot more wait in general admission line. How is it first come first serve yet we paid more? It's is clear to me this place would rather greed then ensuring the customer has a satisfactory time at most. Might I suggest the owner use his analytical Mind and restructure the process. The consumer that pays more gets more. You cannot ask people to spend more money for a better experience and then treat them the same as the people paid less. I am thoroughly disappointed. Might I add there is not enough wait staff to handle The crowd. And if you think any of what I am saying is an exaggeration here's a pic of my view for 300 bucks! Just about! I am giving this place a one star for the food served with the comedy show tickets. I will NEVER do dinner before the show here again. They had four choices of food for the "special menu" that you pay for with the show tickets. The choices were steak, salmon, chicken Marsala and pasta primavera. I ordered the chicken Marsala and my guess is they weren't prepared for it. I was given a burnt chicken Cutlet with some kind of mushroom slop poured over it and ziti which obviously came from the pasta primavera. So I probably got yesterday's chicken cutlet heated up with maybe the soup of the day poured over it. What a disgusting disaster to serve someone. The chef should be fired!! I didn't complain or send it back because I'm sure the other items were crap too. Plus I came for the comedy show which was excellent. But I won't give 5 stars even though the show was outstanding because of the absolute gall they have to serve someone that garbage. Why not just say they ran out or they didn't know it was on the menu for tonight? Then I would've just ordered and paid for an appetizer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PAYING FOR THE DINNER WITH THE SHOW. And if the manager has any decency, they'd refund me for the dinner portion after seeing this garbage. read more

We went to see Andrew Dice Clay and bought tickets to his 10:00pm show. We were called in the afternoon and told that the 10:00 show was canceled because he had to fly home that night but we could go to the 7:00 show. Our group of 9 got it together to make the 7:00 show but when we got there the only table they had for us was for 6 people. It was a high table in the back so we couldn't fit our other 3 friends. I don't know where the mix-up was but our waitress wasn't really that interested in fixing it. Even if she wanted to, there was not one place to put 9 people at that point. That is why it is really important to get there early so they can fix mix-up that happen. Anyway, there was a lower table next to us so our friends sat there. It worked out because during the show you're not really talking anyway. Now to the food and service. The place was packed, which is usually is but I think they maybe combined some of the 7:00 and 10:00 people so it was kind of chaotic. The service was so bad that it took forever to get our drinks and food. The drinks were very inconsistent so I would stick to wine and beer like some of the other reviewers suggested. The food is what you would expect from a comedy club, but came way after the show was over. It wasn't just our table this happened to and at that point we all just wanted to leave. The show itself was awesome! Dice was just as you expected him to be and even though you hate yourself for laughing at times, you just have to because he really is so funny! I was here to see Pete Davidson and Friends last night and I am thoroughly disappointed with the service on this big ticket event. I expected the ticket prices to be steeper than they usually are here, so we paid $45 each with an additional service fee so it came out to $53 each, and you are required to buy two items off the menu. The tickets said doors were to open by 9:45pm, however, they had a fire alarm incident, due to the performers smoking, so we were out in the cold until 10:30 or so. I get it, safety, blah blah, but like update us on why I'm out in the cold freezing my toes off. We were finally let in and we had to lock up our phones in these fabric sleeves, which again, I understand because Pete is testing out material for a taped special, and also the paparazzi are being crazy misquoting all of his Ariana jokes, which he jabbed at, so he doesn't use any "AG jokes" until his special airs. We're seated and the waitress come around for our drink order, which she gets right on the nose, however, every other group sitting at our table had to keep begging for her to please bring the drinks they ordered. We then ordered food and I had a feeling it was going to be a disaster because everyone was packed like sardines in there. We order mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, and a chocolate cake. The show starts, waiting, waiting, waiting, finally the last comic is on before Pete and I grab the waitress and say "can you please bring out food and with extra forks to share, we've been waiting the whole show" she comes by with the cake alone with ONE FORK. Then in the middle of Pete's set the fried pickles show up. So my hopes that I'll get my mozzarella sticks soon are lifted. However, I'm still very distracted about my missing food throughout Pete's entire performance. I see the server lean over to the table next to mine and hear her say "Well you guys are lucky! You got the last batch of mozzarella sticks!" At this point I'm livid. I'm in arms reach of her and I tap her on the shoulder and said "Excuse me, I ordered the mozzarella sticks over an hour ago." "Oh well we ran out, I can take it off the bill if you like" to which I responded "Yeah please do that, and bring me another Sam Adams and the two more forks we asked for 4 times". She came back 5 minutes later with all of those things. Pete and the boys were amazing but I'm disgusted that the service was so awful. I'll never come back. read more

Went to governors last night. We had the cheapest tickets you could purchase but it really didn't matter. The place was small. They offer a nice dinner menu, the food is not expensive. There are burgers, pasta , tacos and things like that on the menu. We did not order anything because we had eaten already, but we saw a lot of people did eat there. It was a sold out show last night. In fact, they created a another show to accommodate all that wanted to see the very funny Hodge twins. Out seats allowed us to see them and we laughed the whole night. Part of their routine was a little risqué, but still pretty funny. I will go back again when the Hodge twins return. read more

We were there for New Years Eve. This was, by far, the worst New Years Eve I have ever experienced. Waited in the rain, outside, for over an hour. They were supposed to open at 9:15. Did not start letting people in until 10. Service was horrible. One in our party ordered the onion soup. When hecrecieved it, 45 minutes later, he had no spoon. He asked for a spoon, and after another half hour, still no spoon and the soup was cold. We got our drink orders 30 minutes after our food order. Food orders were wro g. Drink orders were wrong. We were supposed to get champagne but never did. After screwing up everything, the waiter was rude. Then the gratuity was automatically included. Certainly not deserved. We have been to Governors many times, but never again. read more
