Unlike most food court stalls which serve up substandard, formulaic and tepid dishes which sit under a heat lamp all day, Ricky's food is fresh, delicious and all in all a culinary sensation. Formerly situated in the markets, Ricky has brought the quality one would expect on Gouger St to the center of the city. Their specialty is bbq duck, pork, and chicken, which serve as the base of most dishes. They are put to many uses, including a fantastic noodle soup, where the roast meat (i go the duck) is dunked within a sea of fragrant broth. There is a choice from a number of different types of noodle, a chili sauce and some kind of delicious green sauce which I think is based on coriander or some other herb. Naturally, as the food is not served tepid from the warmth of a heat lamp, there is a bit of a wait, which potentially could pose a problem if you are in a rush on your lunch break, but it is well worth the wait if you have the time.

Ohhh yes! Cheap tasty eats! Ricky's Chicken Rice started just outside the Central Markets. Some of my fellow Elites rate it pretty high, so I had to give it a go. I ordered the roast duck on noodles with sauce. Usually I would order rice, but for some reason I was in the mood for noodles. I also ordered a chicken broth for a side. This was so super cheap at $10.50. The duck was really tender. Actually, it was a lot more tender than other duck I have tried around Adelaide. But this also meant that the skin on the duck as not as crispy as I would have liked it. Oh well, the flavour made up for that. Well seasoned and topped with a soy based sauce for the noodles. To freshen the dish, it was also served with steamed bok choy. What I also liked was the additional sauces served with the dish, one was green onion sauce and the other a chilli sauce. Perfect for dipping your duck into for extra flavour. Yes, the reviews are right! This is a great destination for an all time favourite. I will be returning here on a regular basis when I am in town. Especially at those prices!

In fact when I came in here the first time I was absolutely amazed as I had never seen a shopping centre this huge. Mind you, that has all changed though, but it was still an experience as a child. These days I have to admit that it is a pretty boring place. They used to have an amusement park of the top level but that is now long gone - at least in Brisbane they replaced it with a cinema complex - here it is just a gym and Lincraft. The selection of shops, at least in my mind, are pretty ordinary, though the food hall is okay. Well, I should admit that I did venture into the London Tavern occasionally, but I have to admit that the place it pretty ordinary.

After experiencing Myer's appliance home delivery, I feel quite pleased. Their on-time arrival was only part of the excellent service. This one man did all the manual work for me. I didn't have to do anything except direct him where exactly to put it in the kitchen and sign the papers. Once he finished, I was delighted to see my new refrigerator in the middle of the kitchen, walked him out of the door, with no damages to the house interior or refrigerator itself. FANTASTIC. The in-store experience was wonderful, the fridge works fine, and even customer service was helpful in that she went the extra mile and showed me all the different types of fridges on sale, and at the end of our conversation, informed that I can have a 2 year payment plan rather than one year so that I could it afford it. Department stores always seem to provide top service! I always go back to Myer if I need to find something very quickly, and they are flexible in their payment plans, especially if you are buying something expensive like a new laptop. Additionally, I found my first actual Apple store! Amazing what unexpected treasures you can find while shopping around. It's even a great place to buy cheaper items, like extra pairs of much-needed underwear. Another thing I love most about being inside here, is that if your mobile connection/reception is low and not very good outside in the mall, you can step inside the Myer Centre and the Wi-Fi reception just skyrockets, and you can plan your next move.

My favourite would have to be the Malaysian stall. They do a good char keoy teow, curry laksa and hokkien mee dishes here. Don't bother getting the nasi lemak dish though as the sambal was awful. Prices range from $9-$10.50. I never bother with the Indian stall as it is way to expensive but you will find some good Indian bread and vegetarian dishes. Go for the Tom Yam at the Thai stall and sizzling beef and spring rolls at the Chinese stall. A dedicated drink stalls with coke, juices, soya bean, beer and wine would appease any diner. All in all, it's a pleasant little Asia under one roof.

Set up in a food court and school cafeteria environment, you can choose from a wide selection of South-East Asian Cuisine. Choosing from a menu is hard enough in itself. let alone trying to figure out if you'll be ordering from the Chinese, Malaysian, Indian or Thai section. If you can't decide, order a dish from them all. The venue is licensed, so grab a drink while you decide, and take a seat. All sections will promptly bring the food out to you. The prices are very cheap - I'm convinced you can't buy the materials for what they charge here. This is why I keep coming back for more, and then re-order take away to heat up later. Pro tip: If you can't find your table number, remember to look straight up (You'll find it hanging from the ceiling).
