I was treated like absolute royalty when I paid my first visit to Gourmet Life. A warm and cheerful greeted me immediately upon entering; I knew I would be in for a treat, and indeed I was. Mentioned I was visiting and wanted to take some unique items back with me to the states. The oh so very popular Roman coffee came highly recommended. I am the type that does not function well without my morning cup of java; the stronger the better. That said, I was very excited when they offered to make me a cup of the Roman coffee on the house. They even allowed me to pick the type of coffee I preferred: flat white, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, etc. I opted for the cappuccino which came out perfectly. It was absolutely Devine. My cappuccino was accompanied by a Roman espresso bean. Also truly Devine.
There were so many gourmet items to chose from: Michelin two star winning jams made to order, Provincial olive oils in various favors, balsamic vinaigrettes, spices, sea salts, and their claim to fame mushrooms just to name a few. My only regret is that there is no Gourmet Life in the states. I do wish they'd consider.
I took away the Roman coffee and Provincial olive oil (the taste blew me away). I'll be returning for the balsamic vinaigrette with honey.
