I've been searching for a reliable tailor in the San Francisco area, and Tina's Alterations was…read moreexactly what I was looking for. I had four dresses that needed alterations for several upcoming weddings and initially sent Tina photos of all of them. Rather than accepting every project, she carefully evaluated each dress and agreed to work on only two. She explained that while the other two dresses could technically be altered, the fabric and fit would make it difficult to achieve a result that met her quality standards. I greatly appreciated her honesty and professionalism. Many businesses would have accepted all four dresses, but Tina was focused on delivering work she could confidently stand behind. Her transparency and commitment to quality immediately gave me confidence in her expertise. During my first visit to Tina, I brought both my dresses to try on to assess the alterations that I needed done (mostly hemming). She provided a quote at that time, and stated that payment could be made at pick-up. I found her pricing to be very reasonable given the complexity of the dresses (material and multiple layers). The two dresses she altered turned out beautifully. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the fit was exactly what I wanted. The turnaround time was about two weeks from drop-off to pickup, which I found very reasonable (especially since I had told Tina there was no rush). She clearly takes pride in her work and pays close attention to the details that make a difference. One thing to note is that English is her second language and Mandarin is her first, so there can be a bit of a language barrier. If you speak Mandarin, communication will likely be even smoother. That said, I found Tina to be thoughtful, professional, and genuinely committed to achieving the best possible result for her clients. I would definitely return for future alterations and would highly recommend Tina's Alterations to anyone looking for quality workmanship and honest, trustworthy service.

As a shorter girl, I needed quite a few alterations to get my wedding dress to fit perfectly, including shortening the length, taking in the waist, and adjusting the bust area. Two weeks before my wedding, I unexpectedly lost more weight and needed additional alterations. Tina was so accommodating and took me in last minute! She redid my dress, took in several more inches around the waist, and made sure everything was completed on time. When we realized the dress had become a little too tight, she went above and beyond by even accommodating an emergency nighttime appointment to make further adjustments just before my wedding. I honestly can't thank her enough for being so flexible, patient, and dedicated to making sure my dress fit perfectly for my big day. She truly went the extra mile when I was under so much stress leading up to the wedding. Another bonus is that she works from home, which makes the experience feel more personal and convenient! If you're looking for someone reliable, talented, reasonably priced, and willing to go above and beyond for your wedding dress, I highly recommend Tina. Thank you for helping make my wedding day extra special!

I found this place online, it is only 3 blocks away from the hotel, and it can get the job done urgently, so I went. I was pleasantly surprised. The place is perfect in each and every way. It is small, filled with machines and packed with garments, but the owner arranged the space so nicely it does not feel crowded at all, it actually feels vibrant and tranquil at the same time. The tiny space behind the curtain where I fit my pants is spotlessly clean and elegantly decorated. The owner is a lady with few words, but each word is on the point. Now the most important part, the job: I dropped my pants at 2 pm, and they are ready at 3 pm, as promised. They are exactly the length I asked for, with beautiful stitches, and for a very reasonable price. By the way, the lady is beautifully dressed, with perfect makeup, which gives me confidence of her taste. Aleksandra is the BEST!…read more I came to her with a ChatGPT-generated image of what I wanted: a custom wedding outfit with pants, a lace top, and a cape. I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere, and even a friend in the fashion designer world had warned me not to expect anyone to be able to replicate a computer-generated image exactly. Aleksandra was able to bring the vision to life exactly as I had imagined it and honestly, way better than the image from AI, and the finished outfit is incredible. The pants fit so well that they look like they were painted onto me. She even fitted them to two different pairs of shoes that are about two inches different in height (sneakers and heels)! The lace top is comfortable yet elegant, and the cape is exactly what I pictured. It is beautiful and dramatic, but still light enough to wear comfortably. One of my favorite parts of working with Aleksandra was how involved I got to be in the process. I learned so much along the way. She was knowledgeable and offered thoughtful suggestions about fabrics and design, but she never pressured me into doing anything I didn't want. Her recommendations were invaluable, from choosing a pant fabric that wouldn't be see-through or emphasize areas I was self-conscious about, to helping me find a cape fabric that was beautiful without being too heavy. She is also incredibly fast. The turnaround time for everything has been much quicker than I expected, especially considering how busy she is. And her prices are very reasonable. What I paid for a completely custom outfit was less than many bridal shops in the area charge for non-custom options. She also went above and beyond for my wife. My wife had a piece made by Lace & Liberty that was oddly constructed and didn't fit well. Despite having an extremely busy schedule, Aleksandra took it on and has patiently fixed it bit by bit. Aleksandra made the whole experience fun. She never batted an eye at us being a two-bride couple and has been nothing but welcoming throughout the entire process. We genuinely looked forward to our fittings, felt like we were part of the creative process, and trusted her completely. We LOVE her and are so grateful we found her! I'll update to include photos after our wedding!
