Lovely little shop! Deducting a star since they don't offer any sort of plates but they offer forks... Even a paper plate would be nice! My friend and I came here on our day trip to Olympia and weren't disappointed with the two cupcakes we chose and split. The Boston Cream was delicious and the pistachio, the last one at that, was even better! Every pastry is very well decorated. We got to sample a pie crust roll up, though we were most definitely there for cupcakes. Looks like they offer coffee/espresso sometimes but the machine was out of service. Best baker ever! I wanted what I thought to be a unique birthday cake and wasn't sure what they would think. She didn't even hesitate at my request! Can't say enough great things about these baked goods, the owner and this business. Honestly the cupcakes are gorgeous and I have yet to try one I didn't love. The cake is so moist but not over sweet. I love all of the fruit fillings. They are just the right amount and again, not overly sweet. They actually taste like each unique fruit- very well crafted. We enjoyed the cupcakes so much that we ordered a custom cake for my daughter's 16th birthday. In spite of the pandemic, Lauren, the owner was very clear about her capacity and her communication was ideal. She took the right amount of info, and provided my kid with her dream cake. And honestly I can't believe she didn't charge more! It was stunning! The whole experience was both warm and professional through and through. I feel like I've made a new friend and I now know where we can count on loading up on sweet treats. Not to be overlooked is Lauren's commitment to the community! She and her partner give and give in spite of often being targeted by both ideological hate groups and insensitive patrons. Be wary of the one-star reviews here- it is clear that they are essentially a campaign of white people who are working hard to undermine what is a known and cherished Black-woman owned business. So I just have to write this review as I sit here eating this delicious apple pie with crumble topping that Gotti Sweets made. I ordered a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving then called back and ordered an apple pie (Daughter's request) with the choice of regular topping or crumble topping. Tried the pumpkin first and omg I went from one slice to two slices next! Day after Thanksgiving I try a slice of Apple and it is DELICIOUS! Perfect texture crust and apple flavors. Did I mention everything's made from scratch? Yess! The whole family approved. If you need pies for Thanksgiving this is the place. Stopped in and got a few different items, spent nearly $50 for 3 cupcakes, 2 slices of cheesecake and a very large slice of a rainbow layered cake. My husband liked the brownie cheesecake. He said it was a good combination but not the best cheesecake he has had. I hat the strawberry lemon cupcake and it was fantastic. My son loved his chocolate cup cake. I had a bite of my daughter's rainbow cake and it was meh. The next night we had the vanilla cupcake it was great. The blueberry cheesecake has coconut. I was not expecting that, and unfortunately I have a mild coconut allergy. I would definitely go again, but probably stick with the cupcakes. read more

I would not recommend going here for a gender reveal surprise! When the order was picked up they immediately said the gender of the baby and had blue on top of the cupcake giving it away. They were also very combative when we called to say something about it and tried to put blame on us. Yes we called two days before to place the order but please do not accept orders if you do not have the time. I would've loved the opportunity to go elsewhere instead of having this mishap. Absolutely wonderful and beyond sweet, and kindhearted staff. I'm always anxious to try new things, and I kept forgetting the flavors that one worker told me. He would go over them many times, which I felt bad about, but he did it with a smile and such consideration. Never rushed, never got impatient, never sighed. I was greeted with genuine smiles-- not the fake half smile-- genuine, happy smiles and a loving attitude. The people here work so hard, very fast, very busy, but never stop their loving attitude and their perfection for their foods. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! I went to Gotti Sweets two weeks prior to our event (A baby reveal) to order several items. I had two different pictures of the square cupcakes I was looking for. When I arrived, I was greeted by Lauren. I asked if I could place an order and she looked at the pictures I had. She explained that the first picture I showed her were actually petit fours and that she could not make those. However, when I showed her the second picture, she stated she could make those, but she was super busy and did not have time to take my order at that time and if I could email her the picture and how many I needed. I said yes I would do that, I took her business card, left, and later that day emailed her my order. She responded two days later with a quote for the custom cupcakes. The following Saturday (now one week before the event) I went back to the bakery to place the order and was told by Lauren again, she was super busy and that she had someone waiting on her to finish a cake she was working on and could not stop to take my order (I was kind of bothered but thought, wow, if she is always busy maybe that means the ratings are correct and it is going to be worth waiting and it will be amazing) and if I could call her on Tuesday to order because she is closed on Sunday and Monday. I asked if she would still have time to get the ordered completed by the following Saturday if we waited till Tuesday and she said she would, so I agreed and left. I called on Tuesday to place the order and Lauren answered, happy to take my order. (1 dozen baby blue custom square cupcakes, 1 dozen baby pink custom square cupcakes (based on the photo that I provided), 1 - 6" tall round cake with baby pink and baby blue decoration, and 1 dozen baby blue macaroons, 1 dozen baby pink macaroons). We agreed I would pick everything up on Friday by 5pm. By Friday, I had determined we may need more macaroons, so I called Lauren and asked if we could add a dozen of each color and she stated she was currently baking the macaroons and thinks she made enough to do that but would not know until they were done baking. So, I just stated I would be happy to take whatever she had made. During the call I asked if it would help give her more time to complete the order if I picked everything up on Saturday morning first thing and she agreed it would help her and it also helped me because I would not have to have refrigerator space. I arrived @ 9:30am Sat. morning to pick-up everything to find that the cupcakes didn't look anything like what I had asked for. Lauren then stated that it took her two hours to do the cupcakes, and she should have quoted me double what she had. I said it is not about the money, I am disappointed that I was not told she could not make them look the way I wanted them. She offered to only charge me half price for them. I was not concerned about the cost (she had worked hard on them and I understand that) I also wanted what I had ordered. However, they were still presentable so I kept them. The 6" round cake was very pretty, the macaroons looked great! We loaded everything up and drove to the event to set up with the round cake as the centerpiece, put the macaroons in little boxes, and placed the cupcakes out on display. It LOOKED beautiful. The baby reveal was for the whole family, children included ages 1-13 (keep this in mind). Of course, the kids were excited when they saw the cupcakes and couldn't wait until it was time to eat them. Once we said you can go ahead and get one, they all raced to grab one. A few minutes later my husband offered me a bite of the cupcake and I stuck my fork in only to pull out a METAL WIRE with the flower she had put on top of each of the cupcakes. At that time, we had all of the parents running to collect all of the cupcakes each of the children had taken off with before one of them were POKED in the mouth or CHOKED on one of the wires. Lauren did not warn me that she used metal wires to hold the flowers in place!!! I felt terrible and apologized to the parents. I could not believe she did not feel that it was important to mention this to me. During the reveal party we did not get a chance to cut into the 6" round cake so my daughter and son-in-law decided to take it home with them and eat it later that evening for dessert. On my drive home my daughter called me to say that they had decided to eat the cake but it tasted like baking soda and the frosting was turning to liquid (she had never seen butter cream frosting do that before) and could not eat it. I told her if it tasted bad to just throw it away. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Giving this business a 2-star rating because the visual/appearance of everything looked presentable and the macaroons were good. Everyone enjoy the macaroons. Overall, I would not recommend this bakery, which is too bad because we still have a baby shower and several birthdays to come. I would have ordered from them again but I will not be back.
