The office is one big hot mess.If they answer ( which phone often rings a strange busy sound) You are not permitted as a patient to make an appointment with the DR. You need to leave a message with the medical assistant about your issue and hope and pray someone listens to the message. I then get a call back changing a med that was not the issue... This is a long overdue review of one my physicians, cardiologist Thomas Bartzokis. Some of those…read morewho follow me on Yelp think it's funny that I submit reviews of medical providers rather than focusing on restaurants. (These days of COVID-19, I have not been to a restaurant since February 2020). And then there are others who thank me for such reviews, and have found the information useful and have even consulted with the physician, when a need arose, based on such a review. So I continue to post them as a service to those who find them of value. I've been a patient of Bartzokis for 15 years and he continues to impress me with his thorough and conservative approach to the practice of cardiology. Harvard trained, as are several of his partners in this practice, he's an astute clinician and importantly, is sensitive to the psychological as well as medical aspects of cardiac disease. As an example, I have A-fib, which is controlled by several medications. When I've had some challenging times when the A-fib was "acting up" and not in good control, Dr B. Has counseled me that my condition is annoying and can be frightening, but that it is not fatal. Such advice has helped me through some tough times. His practice is comprehensive, in addition to routine EKG's, echo cardiograms and stress tests are performed "in house". This includes stress tests which do not require running on a tread mill, but use a drug to mimic a reaction (nuclear stress test). He has been my physician when I've had hospitalizations, has provided medical clearance when needed prior to surgery, especially related to the need to temporarily discontinue critical blood thinners before and after surgery. This is a busy practice with 5 cardiologists, and the office can sometimes be quite hectic. And getting an appointment can sometimes be a challenge based on scheduling demands, I've discovered how to navigate through the practice to meet my needs. Over the years the support staff have varied between those who are a bit abrupt and those who show concern and are efficient in addressing your needs. I would imagine that most individuals seeking the care of a cardiologist would obtain a referral from their primary care physician, and not consult Yelp, quite frankly. But since I feel strongly that Bartzokis is an outstanding cardiologist, for those who might be wondering about him after receiving a referral or find this review by accident, I have no qualms submitting it. Stay safe and take all your medications, Yelp friends. Make sure you know what your blood pressure is and should be, don't ignore chest pain or irregular heart rhythms, and continue to live a full life.

Like any person going to a cardiac practice, the treatment and symptoms vary enormously. I've been…read morea patient since 2016 -- with A-fib issues --Abalations and now a loop. Thoughtful approaches as I am aging into the unknown 80's, I'm quite satisfied with the skill and time he gives me on my regular checkups. I get referred to the "ablation" practice when needed. Through his portal, my questions or concerns I send in are address quickly. At visits, he spends appropriate amount of time with me and does review recent loop, and other medical happenings -- which are becoming way too many. B-} I also am happy with his PA staff.

It is my strong opinion that you should stay away from this doctor. He is arrogant, dismissive,…read moreand uncaring. He questioned my pains and insinuated that I was either faking the pains or was a lazy exerciser. His office administered a stress test. He was not in the room. When I felt as if my heart was going to explode, I stopped the test. He was then found somewhere else in the office. He came in with an attitude that I was disturbing him. I told him my chest and back were in severe pain. He questioned what I said. His note in the medical record said I had no pains. Clearly wrong. After a CT angiogram that showed my left anterior descending artery was more than 70% blocked, and this doctor did not see that as an emergent issue, I found another cardiologist who gave me an immediate appointment and immediately scheduled me for a catheterization that week. He found the artery 90% blocked and placed a stent. If I had waited for Mishkel to get me the next appointment, I might have had a massive heart attack or died. He failed to administer nitroglycerin to me when I failed the stress test, and he sent me home with a script for the CT angiogram and nothing else. I was left to fend for myself, with no help from Mishkel or his office staff. If I could give him a rating of zero or a negative number, I would have.

I find Dr. Seckler to be a top-flight doctor who provides personal and professional guidance for those of us in need of his care and knowledge. What shocked my most about the negative ratings is the negativity towards Dr. Seckler's staff. In my experience with this office, they have always been prompt, friendly and helpful. I know that things (like emergencies) can arise that delay scheduled appointments, but in 3+ years, my appointment times have been timely kept with minimal delays. Thank you Dr. Seckler and your staff! P. Weintraub

I need to write this for numerous reasons. I don't believe Dr. Seckler is completely aware of how…read morehis office is run. I try very hard to not write a bad review. I prefer to compliment, however I am very disappointed in the competency of his office. I moved to Boca Raton, almost 5 years ago from Los Angeles & needed to find all new doctors, especially a new cardiologist. Heart disease is rampant in my family. My youngest brother died at 31. I was recommended to Dr. Jonathan Seckler and found him very charming & thorough. This was right before Covid. I referred him to a close friend of mine during Covid & thought he had gone out of business because the referral left numerous messages and NEVER received a phone call back to schedule a new appointment. When I did finally see Dr. Seckler I did communicate that with him. He seemed perplexed?? Not sure what or if he addressed it with his staff. Well he lost that referral patient! I recently went in for my annual appointment, and was told every other year I see the nurse practitioner NOT the doctor himself. Not what I preferred, especially never being told that, but ok again. Got some tests & was scheduled last Tuesday @ 8:00am for a stress test. I asked for an afternoon appointment months in advance and was told that I had to have the am appointment not the next one at 11, because I was the first one to schedule that day. Odd I thought again, but ok. I was scheduled for the test last Tuesday, October 3rd at 8:00am. Not supposed to have coffee, chocolate, liquor 24 hours in advance. I had to adhere to all that ONLY to receive a call late Monday afternoon from the receptionist Lucia or something like that to cancel the appointment for the following morning. Why I asked? I was told the doctor was sick. Not sure that was true either, but ok. Was asked by her to reschedule the appointment for today, October 10th again of course @ 8:00 am. This time again no coffee (which I really like to drink in the am) since yesterday at 8:00am (10/9/23). No chocolate, no liquor. I have a lot going on these days. Was up very late, but still managed to get up to be on time for my 8:00 rescheduled appointment ONLY to be told by the same receptionist Lucis when I checked in that the appointment was NOT today 10/10/23 but for 10/17/23. I am going to NY on 10/12/23 am very organized and was quite upset that THEY/ Lucia made that error. She didn't seem to care that I was even upset and suggested I must have scheduled it incorrectly. How or why would I schedule for 10/17/23 when I knew I would NOT be in town!! I asked to speak directly to Dr. Seckler, but was told by Lucia again that he doesn't return calls to patients. Can you believe that? I also left word right after the appointment with the answering service that I wanted to speak to the doctor directly. Well let's see how that goes!! I have decided to leave this office. I liked the doctor, but if he is that uninvolved in how his staff treats his patients (rudely) and that he is in approachable that does not work for me. He is probably losing way more patients than he is aware of. So far that is now 2. I hope he gets to see this long review. I hope he realizes what is occurring with the office staff he trusts, but doesn't have his best interests.
