My 14 year old daughter did 2 weeks of camp at Gotham Archery this summer-one week at the Manhattan location, and one in Brooklyn. To say she loved it was an understatement! What a delight to have this available in the city. It is a well run establishment, and the employees are fantastic at their job, fostering my daughter's love of all things archery. Can't wait to have an adult night here! (Have to try the axe throwing!) read more

I really enjoyed the beginner's class at Gotham Archery. We got to shoot a lot of arrows, I improved throughout the class, and I even was able to get a couple bullseyes. I highly recommend checking it out on a weekend afternoon! read more

Had an awesome time at the Gotham Archery. Also, the lady at the front desk provided the best customer service even though I had one person in the group that bailed out at the last minute. (Mind you, the reservation deposit had to be paid in full online and they do not offer refund) She converted part of the reservation deposit( the one that bailed out) into store credit, as a courtesy and I used it toward buying a b-day equipments for a friend. A+++ for customer services. Both Tank and Derek were very good instructors, who took their time in correcting postures and providing pointers while the groups were shooting the targets. Will definitely be back for more classes. read more

Gotham Archery hosted my bachelorette party and were so accommodating and friendly! They were able to host a variety of skill levels and everyone had an amazing time with the friendly competitive games and attentive lessons. Their number one priority was safety and that was heavily emphasized through the night. Recommended and will be back for more! Also their graphic sweatshirts are super comfy! read more

1st off you just can't walk in with out an appointment / class. The spent 45min explaining how to use your now then you get the chance to shoot your arrows. This place is well structured and the staff is super helpful. it a must try or an awesome date night idea read more

Amaaaaaaazing experience. It's a little walk from the train, but so worth it. The area is a bit industrial, but wow what an experience. I haven't shot an arrow since middle school so this experience was so nostalgic. My girlfriend and I took the intro class and there was only one more person in the class with two instructors. They were patient, very helpful and encouraging. It was an amazing date and cool facility. Book online for $5 discount! read more

Very friendly and accommodating!! Just had a blast at a friend's co ed bridal shower there. The staffs are very attentive and they made archery so much more fun!!! Will definitely go back read more

I took my little cousin here. Neither of us had ever tried archery, but we came without a reservation (not recommended), and the staff was nice enough to squeeze us in. We paid for a beginner's class. It cost $35 dollars, which I thought was a great deal for the amount of fun and instruction we received. I had a wonderful time, and my cousin told me that he did, too. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Just hosted another friends Birthday party here. It was amazing time. The instructors was so knowledgeable and fun she kept the party going for the full 2 hours. We had so much fun playing games and just chatting with her. They also gave us good food recommendations in the area. We order some pretty awesome pizza and brought in cake. We had a blast. Parking was pretty easy to find and the place has a bike rack just inside the door. I want to go back again soon. read more

Planned a date day at this place. Scheduled an introductory lesson with my husband. It was only 3 people including myself and my husband. The instructor (forgot his name), was awesome. He let me switch bows twice to test out the feel of both. There was a game near the end of the lesson that was also fun. I definitely recommend giving this place a try especially if it's something new for you. read more

Great spot, been here twice and I will be back for sure. Sign up for the knife throwing class, there is a wait list but it's super worth it

Derek was our instructor for the beginners class. He was super friendly and took time to help me with my stance and proper form for shooting. I've never done archery before but would totally come back and do it again! read more

Went to Gotham Archery this morning with my 10 year old daughter (minimum age ) and we loved it ! The awesome Gotham instructor took us through safety and proper form with patience and humor. My daughter started getting groupings (arrows hitting the target close together ) and even hit a few bullseyes and balloons ! For booking online at $30 per person it's a bargain! Great location in Brooklyn too. My little Katniss and I are hooked and I might even put her in the Junior Archery Development program too ! Get your archery on ! read more

Fantastic place and amazing instructors, but the neighbourhood is sketchy, you better drive here rather than take a subway and walk about 10 minutes to get to the place. read more

I really liked this place. The very first time that I went we were taught the basics of archery (which is madatory if your new to the place weather or not you know how to handle a bow and arrow) and instructed on how to hold and use a bow and arrow. The instructed was pretty cool and funny though it seemed like he was paying more attention to the women and flirting. Even so he was very compentent and knew his stuff. After all the instruction we finally got a chance to shoot some arrows. Of course I sucked but the staff made it fun by implementing good hearted competition. Gotham Archery is pretty small compared to other archery places I've been to but it's cozy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone hands down who is into archery. Great staff and great activities. read more

I had a great time here last weekend with my family. We greatly enjoyed the introductory lesson with Wolf. The instructors treated my 10 year old and 12 year old with total respect and they left feeling psyched about their abilities and eager to return. Additionally, my husband and I are returning this weekend to learn how to throw axes and knives. So cool! In a world where everyone is increasingly dependent on digital devices it important, now more than ever, that people learn develop their focus. Thank you Gotham Archery! read more

I was at Gotham Archery for a friend's birthday party on October 20th, 2018. It was an amazing experience! Our instructors were terrific. Both were knowledgeable, did an excellent job of ensuring that all in our group were having a good time, and had a great sense of humor. Thanks! read more

Really nice staff, really helpful and they enjoy the sport. They were very patient with my 13 year old son and were excellent teachers, adjusting his elbow angle, making sure the arrows were the right length, adjusting the site. It's a pleasure to work with people who really understand the sport. read more

This place has a great vibe. Helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Best experience ever. They treat you like superstars. Ken, the owner is the coolest man. He is extremely knowledgeable. JB, the dragon master is one of the funniest staff members and always willing to help. Derek is another amazing staff member who is very patient and always lends a hand. Their entire staff makes you feel at home and comfortable even when you make mistakes like taking out an arrow before straddling the line. They keep it fun but serious at the same time because there are potential dangers when dealing with pointy arrows. 5 stars out of 5 stars! read more

This place was a lot of fun. The instructors got us up and running in no time and in a few simple steps, it was like Hunger Games in there. The short introduction walks you through the basics and you get a solid 50 mins of practice time to hone in your bulleyes. The equipment can be a little better set up, seems we could've gotten a few more mins in if it was all ready, but all in all, it was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. read more

Headed over to Gotham Archery after work on a Friday night to participate in the mandatory introductory class. Sign in was simple and desk staff were great. No problems whatsoever. Little background: I initially came here to start building my foundational knowledge of archery and indoor range use since I recently purchased a longbow for indoor range shooting. During the intro class I mentioned to the instructors Ken and Derek that I was planning on using a sightless traditional longbow with a 35lb draw weight. They immediately accommodated my needs in terms of honing my technique and form to make sure I'm keeping consistent from shot to shot. I spent majority of the intro class using a 30lb recurve bow which was perfect for getting the closest experience to the bow i'll be shooting in a couple months. Long story short, great staff, facilities and concept. Headed there later today! -AR read more

I did the intro class. They are really nice. All the explanations were very clear. I loved it!

Checked this place out on 8/21 and had a great time. My instructor was Derrick. He was very knowledgable, friendly, and pretty hilarious during the introductory class. The facility is very nicely lit, has lots of lanes, rental equipment, snacks and drinks. If you're into archery or would like to try it out - you should definitely give this place a visit. read more

Really coool, fun place! If this is your first rodeo, and you've never done this before..don't worry. It's all good and you'll have fun too! Imagine that. A room full of people carrying bows and arrows and they're laughing? It's as good as an hour gets. Only suggestion; they should allow you to use a caricature/photo on your target. read more

Brought my team of 50+ employees for a team building/ holiday event for a day of fun. Everyone at Gotham Archery was accommodating, helpful, and professional. It was quite a logistical challenge, yet the handled our large crowd like pros. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a great time and as a corporate outing. They definitely hit the bulls eye with me!! read more

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR AN ARCHERY RANGE IN NYC! Awesome place with knowledgeable and friendly staff. They also take safety seriously so feel at ease to bring the kids along. read more

Even though, I was that one person in the class that did not hit the middle or even close to the middle, it was a really great time. The instructors and employees are 5 stars on their own! Shout out to Brandon (I apologize if you spell your name differently....and extra apologizes if your name was not Brandon- I am like 90% sure it was) for helping me conquer my mini separation anxiety so that I could let go. Awesome atmosphere and vibe, good music, fun people to be around. Overall, great experience, would recommend to everybody, and will for sure be back (on a mission to hit the center at least once/ collectively get my arrows near the middle). read more

Very good place for archery. The instructors are very cool and extremely helpful in teaching you how to use the bow and arrow. The environment is clean and well organized. Great place, much better than other places in NYC. read more

All-around amazing experience during the intro lesson. The staff is so friendly, warm and helpful. This is such an awesome addition to the neighbor. I'll definitely be back for more! read more

I went with 3 friends last weekend and had an AMAZING time. The staff is so knowledgeable and passionate about archery that you can't help enjoying yourself, especially as you see your skills improve. Frank was our instructor, and he had us all laughing and hitting the bulls eye by the end of our class. The overall vibe is great, there's lots of encouragement, and it's basically a guaranteed good time. We'll be back. read more

Super fun time; my friend and I did the intro class and it was well worth the $30. The instructors were friendly, funny, and they made the experience very enjoyable for a first time archer, like myself. My only qualm about the experience was that the "competition" at the end rewards speed and not accuracy. During the practice period, not once did we practice speed. I'd recommend having two targets set up side by side and the first person to hit yellow moves on. read more

I took my girlfriend here on a surprise date. She absolutely loved it! Jim and Derrick taught our introductory level class. They were very helpful and taught us everything from scratch. I'm an archer now. You can call me "White Shadow" now haha read more

Thank you to all the Staff at Gotham Archery for making our first visit today, fun and for going above and beyond to make it a memorable one. The staff is outstanding and we felt a great vibe in just one visit! Highly recommended! read more

I took an intro class with my boyfriend, and it was an amazing experience. I've wanted to try archery for a long time, and Gotham Archery was recommended to me by two different people. The intro class was $35 Bc we had a $5 off by booking online (I think??). The instructors were awesome! I'm a short, skinny girl and they wanted to get me the mini compound bow but because they had a kids bday party, they didn't have enough to go around (there were two other kids in my intro class so they got priority). I was struggling with the regular compound bow Bc it was really heavy, and they switched me over to the recurve, which was a bit lighter and easier to handle, but had less power. A lot of my shots ended up on the floor :( Butttt, the instructors were there with me, determined to get me as close to the bullseye as possible. They were highly encouraging, and even though I never did hit bullseye, I made drastic improvement under their guidance. Thanks Gotham Archery, hope to be back soon! read more

My son has been going to the youth JOAD program on weekends. Everyone (Ken, Jimmy, Derek, Ting, Judy, and more people that I just don't know their names) has been very friendly, passionate, and abundantly helpful. It's a fun program and I would recommend it to any child. Thanks to Ken and Judy for fixing Ben's bow this past weekend after he accidentally dry fired! read more

I have never done this before. The staff was extremely helpful in tips, how to choose equipment and how to shoot. We had a great time, the place is spacious the equipment was solid and I would highly recommend. Parking was easy (we went at night) read more

We went there as a party of 8, 4 adults & 4 kids, all first timers. Ken and his team were all fantastic: incredibly attentive, flexible, generous with their advice, encouraging. We had such a good time in the intro class that we stayed on in rented lanes for another hour. Fantastic experience. read more

It is great to have a place like this open in the city, and a 10-15 minutes walk from a major subway hub. Have been going all summer and will keep going on occasion. The hours are also awesome, and Ken, the head honcho, is really great. As mentioned in other reviews, there are two things that make this place different from a lot of (perhaps suburban/rural) archery ranges. First, there are a lot of beginners. This is great, and its great that a place like this is getting more people into the sport in a safe and fun way. Thus the staff are insane about safety; this is important and understandable. Even for experienced shooters, they will look at your equipment and watch you shoot and comment on either safety things (of course) as well as form or style. This can, at times, feel a bit invasive; just learn to deal with it. Often enough it has actually helped me see something to pay attention to on my equipment (I am shooting a 10+ yr old compound) or at least be aware of some of my entrenched bad habits. For new shooters, this help is going to be all useful, and when the range is not busy can border on a semi-lesson if someone sticks around to help on form and technique. A great place for new shooters; a good place to brush off the dust for folks coming back to the sport or needing a place to shoot that is off the subway. read more

Never done archery before but scheduled an intro class with a friend on whim. It's close to my apartment and seemed like something fun to do. Ended up having a great time. Ken, the owner, was friendly and patient but what I liked most of all was that he was a great teacher. He gave us clear instructions, didn't overwhelm, and corrected bit by bit. I'm looking forward to going back! read more
