First visit to Gotelli's for an oil change. Fast and quick service. They were able to accommodate my schedule, even when it changed suddenly. Price for full synthetic is reasonable. And they were able to provide some great advice on replacing filters and other tune ups without over selling something I did not need. Gotelli's Garage has actually saved my skin repeatedly! We're not taking our cars anywhere else -- even if we move out of town. My dad was a mechanic all my life, and I know how precious it can be to have a good one who can be trusted. When the garage I had been using for years (NOT Gotelli's!) changed management and started going downhill I started to have doubts about their abilities -- and intent. The last straw was when they finally soaked me for $3000 for a repair and my car STILL didn't even run (!!!), and -then- suggested that I spend an additional $5000 for a brand new engine, I was done. Clearly, I don't learn fast, but when I do I learn well. When I bought a good used vehicle, we had a chance conversation with our bank teller, who said she had been taking her cars to Gotelli's for years and was very happy. - - I'm so we mentioned we needed a new garage, it's made so much difference in my life! I've now been taking our cars there for five years. Erin and Ryan are so warm, kind and friendly, and are thorough and serious about their work. Their honesty and humanity shines right thru the first time you meet them. I felt from the first time I spoke to Ryan in the beginning that we could count on them to be honest about what repairs needed to be done, and have never felt as if I was being pressured or upsold into any unnecessary repairs. During our leaner times, they have been so kind and helped me line up which repairs absolutely needed to be done for safety, and which ones could wait a little longer. That isn't to say they would tell those repairs didn't need to be made, because they still did, but they helped me prioritize which was most important, and in what order they should be done so that we could more easily afford them and still drive as safely as possible until we could get all of them done. They have been friends indeed when we were in need, and I am forever grateful. Recently I found the car needed a pretty pricy repair; Erin called me and said here is what we found that needs to be done, here is the estimate and it's possible you may want to look for a replacement car since this one is nearly 15 years old. The repair would be costly, but nothing like even a used replacement car, and while I know this car's history, I couldn't know the history of another used car. I asked if Ryan would be comfortable with me paying for him to give the rest of my car a once-over to see how the rest of the systems were doing. I respect his experience and opinion on whether he felt it might be a good risk to go ahead do these repairs to get a few more years out of the car -- with the understanding that it would be his best opinion based on the condition, as at this age I know there can be things that just can't be seen. Ryan did his inspection and said it would be a reasonable risk, and I have every confidence that we can get a couple/few more years. (In the meantime, we're now starting to save up for when Roxie the Hyundai does go to her Great Reward..) You won't regret taking your car to Gotelli's! Good work, and good folks. We needed someone to replace a radiator in our Honda. After asking for shop recommendations on a local Facebook group I called Gotelli's... from my very first call to the shop I was so relieved the lady "Erin" I believe was her name was super friendly, and efficient within minutes I received a quote that was a lot less then other shops that I called. I would highly recommend this shop for someone that wants to deal with a friendly reliable shop. They weren't out just for the money they actually wanted to fix the car so we could have it back running in less then 24 hours after dropping off the car!!! Gotelli's is, without a doubt, the most professional, friendly and Honest auto repair shop I've had the pleasure of doing business with in decades. Not only were they prompt and courteous, but they went above and beyond what was expected and provided me with transportation while I waited for my car repair. Twice. I thought I needed brake pads. I went to Gotelli's and as it turns out I didn't need the brake pads. I can name more than a few other places that would've said I did. I'm extremely grateful to have been referred to them and found them to be more than what was expected. Since my visit to the shop, I've had two opportunities to refer Gotelli's for auto servicing-and will continue to sing their praises loud and long. This is THE BEST GARAGE IN THE BENICIA AREA. Period. I stumbled upon them when I was 16 and my dad's old car was falling apart. I went to the dealer and they wanted to rip me off. I picked this one randomly out of the phone book (not something you should do) and it was the best random decision ever made. The service is friendly and my poor little blueberry has been here so many times that the family that runs this business is like my extended family. The prices are spot on. You'll pay $5 less than Jiffly Lube and you'll support local business. Erin runs the front desk, and she'll tell you like it is while her kid's check on who's at the desk while peeking around the corner. And they always make a point to look for the best deals on the raw parts for your car. Which means everyone saves. I could go on all day, or you could just go and get your car lubed or fixed here and be done already. read more

This used to be the best garage in Benicia. They would look out for the better interest of the customer, bar none. Then the father passed away. My mother lives in the area and was treated right for years. Things changed; they pray on elderly people and OVER fix a car and not able to come up with the parts that were replaced. Probably because they were selling them to the next old lady that "needed brakes" because they were fine. They did 2 full brake jobs on a car that is driven once to twice a month, in town. I'd like to state I rarely post unless a)someone has made a wonderful impression on me or b) a horrible impression. I've been in Benicia for over 5 years now and never visited this garage until last night. I had my $200 ear buds stuck under my seat. I tried for hours prior with no success. So finally at 5pm in the rain, I gave up and looked up any Benicia auto shops hoping someone could help me. Most of them were closed. Fortunately for me Gotellis was open. I called and the gentleman on the other end was so nice, I asked what time they closed and he said usually at 5 but would wait to help accommodate me. OMG That was score number one. Secondly, I got lost and had to call him back and he guided me to the shop and stayed on the phone till I arrived. Score number 2. His name was Ryan and he was so nice to me, I apologized for being late and taking his time. He quickly assessed the situation and went the extra mile to find my air pods. Finally after 15-20 I saw them as he unbolted the seat and the problem was solved. The reason he impressed me so much was because sometimes we get into situations that we need help out of, most people don't want to help You even if they have a business. His character showed he was a wonderful person, his parents did a great job. From someone that can take my business anywhere, I will bring some of business to Ryan just for his sincerity and kind nature. I called my husband who was at work and told him how much I was impressed. GREAT JOB Ryan and Gotelli's. I'm impressed and for me that is not a small matter. Took our reliable old truck in for evaluation (the Check Engine light insisted). From the 1/2 day review, I got a vague estimate of repairs (a couple thousand dollars) and my truck back. We needed to think about whether we wanted to spend that kind of money on the truck. We decided to have it repaired, so a few days later I left a voicemail (since no one was available to answer). No call back, so the following day I called again and spoke to a mechanic who said he would get a message to Erin. No call back. So later that day I called AGAIN and Erin "hadn't gotten the message". After these three attempts, Erin phoned me to say she was still getting pricing and even apologized for not being able to get back to me sooner. In the meantime, I received a written estimate (email) from a company in Fairfield, a verbal from another shop in Benicia, and a third estimate from the station in Fairfield who ultimately did our work. We spent close to $4000 on the truck. And now I know that even if offered a 10% discount, neighbor discount or Business Pals Bonus, I wouldn't dream of having Gotelli's do the work. Their work might even be good, but they've really fallen down on Customer Service. With the economy such as it is, who can afford to give poor customer service??? Apparently Gotelli's can. read more
