I have been a customer of "Joe's Got Work" (JGW) for about five years now, and value the company as a "go-to" service provider. I have used JGW for a wide array of items from installing a high-end bathroom vanity to the more common leak repair, drain and toilet issues. The most critical issue was when my basement was flooded with boiling hot water due to what turned out to be a heating system pipe burst on one of the worst days of the year for that sort of thing to happen - Super Bowl Sunday!! I reached Joe on the first call; and he was at my house in 15 minutes! Joe is excellent at investigating root causes of issues, and educates me and seeks my approval to proceed on every finding. He gives me both the cost-to-repair and potential outcomes of every solution, and honors and follows through according to my decisions. He is also very patient with finding alternate solutions to difficult problems - taking a "there's usually more than one way to skin a cat" approach when initial attempts fail. As a single homeowner and landlord it is a big comfort to me to know that of all the household issues that I have to manage, when it comes to plumbing issues, I know exactly who to call - "Joe's Got Work"! read more

Be very careful going with this company. Joe the owner is incredibly unprofessional and a money grabber. I would even suspect some of the practices are not in line with regs. We asked them to fix sewage pipes, ceiling leaks and dealing with the company when it was completed properly was a nightmare and left us in such a bad position. Hi, I'm Roslyn. I was refer to this company from Home Depot. I needed an emergency hot water tank installed, little did I know, this was just the beginning to a nightmare. After the job was completed the tech stated the water would be on in a few hours. The hot water never came on. So here we are the following day, still no hot water. I called the boss Jospeh, he's telling me I have to wait to this afternoon, with no specific time. I had to call another Plumbling company to fix the situation. Got Work tech had put the parts on wrong and wasn't trying to assist in any way possible. Jospeth kept stating there must be some other issues, long story short dont waste your time or money... By far, this is the worst person and company I've dealt with when it comes to contracting. I was given his number from a referral for my very specific project. Joe was asked to replicate a piece of tin molding for a historic building. When asked, he stated yes, he replicates molding. He stated that he required $50 to provide an estimate. He was paid immediately with no questions asked because this is a time-sensitive job. After going back and forth with trying to schedule the first appointment. It was scheduled successfully but when the person was on his way Joe called and stated he would need to remove at least 5 feet of existing molding from this historic building. My question to him was why not make a mold on site? If you can duplicate molding, removing the molding from a historic building should not be part of the scope. Making a mold on-site should be the task, because had he shared this information with me from the beginning I would never have moved forward with his company. Instead, Joe kept adding twists and turns along the way. He took the $50 for the estimate and could not provide results. After weeks of going back and forth, we decided that we would have someone come on-site and duplicate the molding. The gentlemen came but guess what? No molds were made for the moldings to be duplicated but the gentlemen stated that Joe would get back to me. About seven days later Joe gets back to me and states that now he needs a permit and scaffolding. He all of a sudden needs these different things that are not required for what it is that I am requesting. Similar to going into Home Depot and purchasing a box of prefab molding. We are asking that he duplicate what we already have. We don't need scaffolding- the molding is visible and touchable by me who is 5 ft 2 inches. We don't need permits because we have a company of contractors with permits who will be installing the molding on the building, he just needed to duplicate the mold and provide it to us. Joe then sent a quote for $1200 and $12,000 without measurements. I asked him how someone give a quote with measurements for $12,000 or $1200 he said this is how he does his job at this point. This was a waste of time. This is a waste of energy and this was a waste of money. I go online and I see that Yelp reviews are horrible and learn that this man can't do the job! This is why there is excuse after excuse and reason after reason. It's evident NOW that he's NOT a person who does molding. He's a general contractor who is a painter and plumber. He could not do the job and this is why it's not turned into an OSHA, permit, license, and scaffolding thing. This is why the job was not done and why there was so much back-and-forth. This guy destroyed my apartment and put me and my family in a bad position at the time

I reached out to Got Work a week ago with the goal of mounting a television, painting an outdoor sign and readjusting the ac unit. I didn't have any expectations, as Ive worked with at least a dozen contractors and theyve all been shotty!. My experience with "Joe" was surprisingly different. He was prompt, precise and professional. He purchased the part needed for the work and gave me a bill. He responds to all of your text messages and and is very thorough when answering your questions. Joe really wants your long time business so he goes for cheapest route as possible and doesn't over charge. He fixed a plumbing issue where our faucet was not letting out hot water. Joe was the super of my building 372 St Johns. He was absolutely terrible and also really rude. At one point, our bathtub faucet was leaking so severely that closing the drain allowed it to fill to capacity within half an hour. This went on for months. One night, Joe and his crew burst into our apartment uninvited and proceeded to enter the bathroom and take a sledgehammer to one of the walls which (long story short) ended with a fire erupting inside our bathroom wall. After months and months of living with a shower with a huge hole in the wall which Joe and the landlord Lee refused to fix in spite of dozens of phone calls, Joe and his guys once again rushed in one night to cover up the hole as we were moving out and the apartment was to be shown the next day. Our steam boiler started to act inconsistently for a week or so and finding someone to come and take a look in the middle of a pandemic was difficult. We called Joe from Got Work on Good Friday evening and he replied within minutes. He had his technicians in on Saturday morning (Easter weekend) and by mid morning had diagnosed the problem and already started to make calls to find the parts.....Easter weekend in the middle of a pandemic, incredibly professional and diligent.
