Baba Yaga - Sits on a corner. I noticed it by the "Zywiec" beer sign.

I've been wanting to come here for ages! Such an unusual and interesting place, on a street where…read morethere is nothing like it. Great Polish food. We had loads to eat plus an apple juice each, and it came to under £20! Incredible value. It's right on Adelaide Terrace just along from the end where Lidl is. You can use their car park and walk along.

I like Polish food. Walking into this empty restaurant and seeing Polish music videos on the TV was…read morea good first sign. The waiter having a thick Polish accent was the second good sign. A bilingual menu was a third good sign. Absolutely authentic Polish dishes and several Polish beers on the menu was the forth good sign. The waiter was kind and energetic, especially after I said I loved Polish food. My wife and I were insanely hungry since we went to several Hadrian's Wall sites and had a light lunch. We also had not eaten Polish food in a long time, so maybe we were over excited. I ordered the borscht and the waiter suggest a special borscht for the day. My wife got the fried cheese appetizer. We ordered three appetizers, splitting the vegetarian cheese/onion dumplings (pierogis), and my wife getting potato pancakes on goulash while I got the breaded pork cutlet. Everything was very, very good. The borscht was very flavorful, full of potatoes and beans in the Ukrainian style. The fried cheese was amazing, crunchy and melts. The pierogis were huge and delicious. The pork cutlet was tender, perfectly fried crispy exterior and juicy inside. My wife liked the potato pancake but raved about the paprika-rich goulash. We had no room for desert but it was anything like the other dishes, I am sure it would be quite amazing Newcastle, you have an *excellent* Polish restaurant. Please visit it and enjoy this flavorful cuisine. Oh, and the bill? £38.50. For three entrees, two appetizers, and I had a beer. Very reasonable. I can't say enough good about this place. The decor is very neat, too.
