Whilst out on an evenings event and looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't busy so close to Xmas. Came across this small cafe/ restaurant that appeared to look different.
Upon entering the young lady at the bar exclaimed what it was "Polish" .As it was empty we would give it ago..
The decor was rustic in its make-up but clean & tidy. The menu was in Polish & English
We sat at the table and pondered the menu, ordered water as we needed to drive, so no alcohol. The bar/waitress took our order which was breaded chicken in 2 forms with chips & salad, The salad came Polish style, pickled veg (sour kraut) and mayonnaise based item, which was the better of the two. Fries cooked ok.
The breaded chicken was nicely cooked & remained moist. We were suitably full after the meal. Our first experience of Polish cuisine in the North East.
Neither of us used the facilities so can't comment. There is parking close by (100m) but not outside as it's up a pedestrian area on the town.
Having never been to Poland but lived in Germany it reminded me of the quaint German places that could be found in 1980's. we would return if in the town. read more
