They have a variety of food to choose from and even treats on the countertop. The boarding facility is absolutely amazing. Love the pet desk app that keeps you in the know all about your fur baby. I highly recommend the grooming staff, they did exactly as I requested for my cat. Such a superb job! I highly recommend here for all your pets needs!

Princess Charlie has recovered well!…read more We've been taking our pets here for the last three years. A few months ago there was a growth that started on her forehead, above her right eye. As a homecare remedy, I used what was recommended in hospitals - chlorhexidine spray. Seeing that after a few more weeks, the awkward shaped "bubble" wasn't getting smaller. It also started to appear dried, but it looked like a goat's horn; Princess Charlie became a lopsided unicorn... I scheduled a doctor's visit at Family Pet Clinic for surgical removal in May 2023. Excellent job done! It was funny seeing Charlie try to maneuver with her cone. She overcame any difficulties like a trooper! Side notes: This kitty is a survivor; a rescue from the feral traps at my daughter's university. As a kitten, she was super tiny - just a tad bigger than a palm. She's the royal age of 7 now. I wasn't ready for her to leave us - NO WAAAAY! Dr. Rena Dunahoo and her staff took really great care of our little meowy. The procedure only took a day; and sutures were removed after a couple weeks. Thank you so much Family Pet Clinic!!! Everything's all really good now. Our tiny tiger is back to her luxurious lifestyle of the best and longest cat naps, lotsa cuddles and sniffies, tidy litter box, food and water being served to her. Best of all she's a sweetheart! Dr. Rena Dunahoo and her staff are her heroes!

Today, I took my cat in to have his front claws trimmed. The young lady who took him to the back to trim his claws promptly returned and said they couldn't get him out of his carrier, and that he had hissed at her...... so they would not be able to trim his claws. I mean, come on........ surely him hissing isn't grounds to refuse service. The main part of their job is being able to "handle animals". I have been a customer for years and have never been so readily dismissed. There's a reason why people take their cats in for a trimming. It's because they are too difficult at home. We count on our vets to help us provide solutions to help care for our pets. I was somewhat taken aback when I was refused service.

I was hesitant to post a review and wanted to just let this go, but after reading other people's…read morepoor reviews, I feel obligated to warn others not to take their pet here. I adopted a wonderful kitten through pet connect rescue who had been recently neutered and seen by Animal Medical Care for his tests, vaccines, etc prior to the adoption. Thinking I should use the same vet he had seen before, I have now visited twice and can confidently say I will NEVER bring my pets here again. The long story: I changed my cats name when I adopted him as people commonly do. About a week after the adoption, we visited Animal Medical Care after his neuter by them had a complication. I shared my cats new name and presented the vet tech with the records they already should have had on file in his old name. Despite doing this, nobody thought to "connect the accounts." Unfortunately, that was just the start of my issues with them. Every time I call I am on hold over 15 minutes, which we all can agree is excessive. They give the same excuse each time of having emergencies to deal with and being short staffed. I get it, things come up, and I'm generally a pretty understanding person, but this is a repeat pattern of really just seeming to not have it all together. Can you not hire someone else to man the phones? Plenty of good people out there are looking for work... Even if you get past being on hold, you will be told they have no appointments available for weeks but that you can come in during their walk in hours. They tell you they can't guarantee you'll be seen, meaning you may wait who knows how long and they can still turn you away. If you're short staffed and demand is that high, why are you even accepting new patients, let alone walk ins? I was willing to look past this and just take my business elsewhere, but am now sitting here taking more time out of my day to write this because of how difficult it was this morning just to get my cats records. Lo and behold after three phone calls we were finally able to make that connection between my cats old and new accounts and I was emailed the correct records. I'm seeing these records for the first time, and its just awesome to see my cat is past due for two of his vaccines. Did you think to let me know that the last two times I visited? I find it to be a huge red flag that you do not have systems and procedures in place to track the due dates for things like vaccines or dental cleanings. Every other vet I have visited in my life has given me a heads up that this or that is coming due. If it's been 6 months to a year and they haven't seen me, I'm used to getting a call to remind me to schedule a wellness check or pick up more preventative meds. Is it Animal Medical Care's responsibility to ensure my cat is up to date on everything? No, I am partly to blame. But if that's the standard best practice around here, can I ask why you are not doing that? It comes across to me as if you don't care about my cat and nobody is keeping track of his health. I cannot trust that your clinic will be there to help my cat when the time comes for an inevitable injury or illness. And I cannot in good faith recommend others visit you because of this neglect of care. Our animals deserve the best. Do better. Tl;dr: they are an unreliable vet office that doesn't seem to really care about your pets and is also somehow slammed all the time. I highly recommend Belton Veterinary Clinic off loop 121 for alternate care. They got me in same day when my cat had an ear infection and provided great service in a timely manner. Prices were reasonable, the location was clean, and it felt far more orderly. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff who saw my cat. I wish I remembered the name of the vet and vet tech because they were so kind and patient with my kitty. You can tell they truly care about their patients and that they take pride in their business, which makes all the difference.

I think everyone should be upset with them holding medication ransom to treat a $2.00 sick chicken, demanding a $85 dollar fee even before the cost of the medication. It's claimed I berated their receptionist wit profanity when actually I was berating the situation. The receptionist took it upon herself to to become offended at me being upset. After I canceled an upcoming appointment telling them I would take my business elsewhere. I received a return call where I was told I was no longer welcome there with my other Animals (that they have received THOUSANDS of dollars for treating in the past two years) as if they are on some type of higher moral grounds with their demonstration of fake compassion and empathy for MONEY. So the takeaway from all this is to understand there is no loyalty points or frequent user awards given here if you show you're a real person and get upset or see their act for what it is - they will simply let your animals die rather than care for them. In addition if they can survive and be fine without the thousands and thousands of dollars I spend there annually, they obviously don't need your money either. Apparently they have pulled the wool over enough people eyes and hold enough medication for ransom from sick animals to keep them in the $$$ for quite some time. Unfortunately, the needless death of Bloomers the chicken is inevitable. Ironically, I doubt the needless death of Bloomers will have near the emotional effect on their receptionist as one of their customers getting upset. They may need to relearn to fake their understanding and compassion to include the fact that people get angry and upset at times. Beware! you are being recorded and they will threaten to use those recording to attempt undermining any negative review. Perhaps be aware of any other undisclosed recording devices being used at this establishment, you just never know.

I trusted them to manage a condition they were already treating. During his stay, Merle had a seizure. I was told he would be monitored, but his seizures were not controlled and his condition worsened. More critically, the records do not reflect escalation to appropriate in-clinic seizure management. In veterinary medicine, ongoing or cluster seizures require timely escalation to longer-acting anticonvulsants to achieve control. Intravenous Phenobarbital is commonly used for this purpose. There is no indication in the records that IV Phenobarbital, or a comparable escalation, was administered or even available at the clinic. Because his seizures were not controlled, Merle's condition escalated to the point that he required transfer to two emergency hospitals, where he was treated for acute liver failure from prolonged seizure activity. His care exceeded $10,000. Based on what I was told by the emergency veterinarians, if he had not been transferred when he was, he likely would not have survived. After this, I was told by the clinic owner that I should be "grateful" he was transferred and she heralded Dr. Brongo a hero, as though there were some alternative to transferring him other than him dying. I was still charged for boarding, staff appeared unaware he had even been transferred when I returned, and no one from the clinic ever followed up on his condition or apologized. I filed a complaint with the Texas Veterinary Board, which declined to take disciplinary action against Dr. Brongo. While that was disappointing, I hope that during the course of that investigation she thought about the fact that she almost killed my baby every single day. If I could give them negative stars, I would.
