This week we went with a newly adopted dog so we could get her microchipped and have her Rabies vaccine done. For some reason, even though the first shelter the dog was in had "spayed female" on the paperwork, the lack of a spay date made the person signing in our dog suspect that she was not spayed. Do yourself a big favor and bring in spay documents if you have them. If you look at our dog's abdomen, there is a spay scar. We had to have bloodwork done to the tune of $40 because they did not want to give her a rabies vaccine because there was no date of a heartworm test on the shelter paperwork either. The shelter had the dog on heart-worm preventative and flea and tick meds. We needed a form filled out so we could apply for a Lifetime PA dog license since she was now microchipped. This was a $15 fee but it saved us gas and a trip to our vet which I guess is fair but it literally took two minutes to fill out. I did end up paying close to $300 for everything. Finally, I had to wait several minutes to get the rabies certificate filled out. During that time I noticed a board with rebate information. I was surprised that the clerk who we paid made absolutely no mention of the rebate I could request for the flea and tick meds we purchased. What surprised me even more is that when I went on line to do the rebate, T.A.R.A. was not on the list of participating veterinarians who sell the product. I had to add them on manually. All this being said, the veterinarian and the tech who took care of our dog was very nice.

Dr furman is wonderful. he knew what he was talking about, he knew what was wrong with my dog without doing unnecessary tests. Not only is he brilliant but has so much heart for animals. unfortunately my dog passed away but if i ever get another dog, i will be sure to go to dr furman.

I had to come back several times for the condition and they could not have been nicer to me. Seeing doctor Simpson was very easy and she is a really great doctor. We are so grateful to them as well as Dr. Daniela who is JLo's regular veterinarian, Dr. Renee who first seen JLo as an urgent care appointment and every tech that works in the ICU. JLo was hospitalized for a week and they took AMAZING care of her. They work so hard and we appreciate every one of them. It's 5 weeks since her surgery and she's back to her normal self. They also offer grooming, so I am able to get a bath before picking up the boys to return home after their little vacation.

After learning of her grim prognosis, we decided it was best to let her go to end her pain and suffering. It was all very last minute and we were not present for her passing. Otterkill was amazing throughout the whole process. They were able to return her ashes to us within a week. The one thing I regretted was never having her paw print on anything to keep. Well, today we received her paw print in the mail. It was such an awesome surprise and I can't thank them enough for the kind gesture. My family has been going to this vet for our pets for 20 years. I was a not satisfied not being given a precise cost estimate or what procedures would be performed - only a possible range. I called NVH and whomever answered the phone gave me a price range for dental work and luckily scheduled me in for that that afternoon. Dr prescribed meds for my pet, when I go to order said meds on their website am told more tests are needed. Ok. Make appointments for the tests, the vet has the day off-am with another vet that knows nothing about my pets issue, and "oh golly, your former practices records were not uploaded properly-so the very important vaccines we demanded your pet have before allowing you to buy the prescribed meds...not needed!"
