A fastener on one of them broke off and I came here looking without the knowledge or correct tools to fix it.

It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. He pleasantly explained the drink and dining menus and took good care of us all evening. My bride had her favorite drink, The French Martini, and you guys nailed it for her! I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! So thoughtful of them to treat us and to top off a memorable meal and milestone in our lives.

Went to Hardware in North Aurora and came away with mixed feelings…read more The good: ambiance is great and the drinks were on point. Had the Marilyn saison and a solid dark beer. Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

I had a very disappointing experience at the DeKalb Illinois Harbor Freight location on Sunday…read moreevening. I arrived around 5:50 PM to purchase a generator. I was greeted at the front and told the store was closing soon, but I explained that I was only there to buy the generator and was directed to the back to grab the ticket. When I returned to the front, I was stopped by the supervisor who told me I could not purchase the generator because he was not willing to perform a carryout. He said it takes two employees, they only had three workers on shift, and he had too much to do. He told me I would have to come back the next day. I asked if he was serious and he confirmed that he was and again stated that I would not be allowed to make the purchase. When I asked why the approach felt aggressive, he said he was 6'4 and probably comes off aggressive but was just telling me how it is. I requested contact information for a store manager or district manager and was only offered the corporate 1 800 number. They gave me the store managers name, and surprisingly I knew the person from a past life and mentioned that he a good guy and I know he believes in good customer service. At this point the female front cashier stated that they did not care if I know him, called or FaceTimed anyone and repeated that the store was closed and I could not purchase the generator. At that point the tone from all three employees became increasingly aggressive and I chose to leave rather than escalate the situation further. I had driven from Rockford specifically because this store had the generator I needed in stock due to ongoing power outages. While I understand I arrived close to closing time, I was ready to make an immediate purchase of a high value item and simply needed basic assistance with the carryout. I am very disappointed by how this was handled and by the lack of professionalism and customer support shown during this visit. This experience did not meet the expectations I have for customer service and unfortunately left me with little confidence in returning to this location

I went into the store the prior Monday to confirm delivery; I was told yes it would be there on 11/19/20. I informed the store associates that I would be picking it up on Friday, 11/20/20 at approximately 6pm and they said that would be fine. Friday morning I stopped in to confirm pick up but was told the freezer never came in. I explained to them that my son in law had taken the night off of work and rented a truck. The associates, who were very nice said that they would have the store manager Brandon call me when he got in that afternoon. I waited all afternoon and night for his call but received nothing. Saturday morning, 11/21/20 I stopped in the store the talk to the manager and was told he would be in at 12:30pm. The store associate gave me a few corporate numbers to call at my request. Low and behold no one associated with those numbers could help me. They kept insisting on forwarding my call to the store. I went back into the store at 12:15 to cancel my order. The associate was very understanding and apologized for the inconvenience and the hassle I had. At that time the manager, Brandon walked in. I explained to him who I was and asked why he didn't call me last night. His response was he was busy on the phone with another customer all day. Really??? I explained to him that I was out a lot of money and it would have been nice if he would have communicated with me. I try to keep my money local but in this case I will never shop at this store again. Brandon was not effected by my response. I informed him that as a manager, he needed more training on how to run a store and deal with customers. Again, he really didn't care.

Either way, I will keep my $5000.00 and put it where I know people will appreciate it. I even reminded Brian that I was the one that stopped in a few months back and I now have my move in date. That meant nothing either...Not a word back to me. I am all about supporting local, I wish they were. After coming back to work and reading the comments, I am happy I am not buying from them any longer. Sadly, every time I drive past, no cars are there, like ever. Brian sits in the back with a little TV tray, staring at a screen. No other shoppers, again, just me. Why am I ignored again? I don't get it. If Jerry is reading this, you should know what's going on in your store. To be honest though, I am happy I read all of these comments before I made any purchases.
