We decided to do a total kitchen remodel, uppers were white and lowers were barley maple. We ordered Cordell Cabinets, all high end and all plywood. When our contractor opened the cabinets to install the Menards associate had made an error in ordering the one lower corner cabinet in white, which should have been barley maple. It put our kitchen remodel out an additional 4 weeks. No one from Menards or Cardell shows an ounce of urgency in getting us the correct corner cabinet. The Cordell rep told me the most she could do is offer cabinet drawer pullouts or drawer dividers. It has been 5 weeks since our kitchen has been done and not a word from the Cardell rep who I have reached out to or nothing from Menards I am done with Menards and will do business elsewhere. read more

Was very disappointed in my experience I a bought over 1k in materials and when to rent the store truck but was not able because they told be my driver license has not accepted I have a TVDL this is a state given I'd I have never had a problem renting a truck from other Menards store on top of that I can over here some of the workers making fun of us after my sister came to rent the truck. Well, my last trip to here today. We go thru about 30 rolls of 1 in masking tape and 25 of 2 in every week, contractor grade. They dropped it in favor of tape they cost three times as much. Today went to get simple 4x4 lumber. After walking around store trying to find it they directed me to their new are "out back". Still could not find, finally found someone to ask and was directed to the " old warehouse on side of building". Finally found what I needed but then could fine no one to tell me how/where to check out. We try to stay local and small business but with the quantity of tape, we had to settle for local and big box. Lowes, we're on our way over. read more

I am reconsidering To stop using Menards as my home supply go-to. I am growing tired of the crap customer service at checkout. I don't really need much to walk away happy either. However growing tired of the millennials that can't train millennials to do a good job. One example, I get taken out of line (more than once) to a computer that won't work. Then the cashier shrugs and walks away to leave me on my own. If I knew my kids worked like that, it would be fixed right away. They can't count change but it's not their fault in this current times. This location isn't bad, but it's not great either. We come here every so often for little things around the house. It's amazing they have so many employees but we can never get anyone to help us. They are always having to call someone else to whatever department we're in, and it takes a while. It's a big location with lots of product, but not enough knowledgeable employees to help us out. read more

I usually love Menards because I have always found the employees are more helpful than at Lowe's. However, the girls at the paint counter last night were rude. As I was looking for paint with my 10 year old, I could hear 3 employees behind the paint counter talking and swearing. They were attempting to whisper, but you could still hear them in the aisle. When my paint was ready the girl put the paint on the counter and started walking away. I had to ask if it was ready, she said yes and kept walking. She didn't show me the color or put it on the outside of the can. Shouldn't be working in customer service. Very disappointed read more

Last night my husband and I found a refrigerator at this Menards location and were quoted a discounted price because it was a discontinued floor model so today when we wanted to schedule delivery the appliance-manager said she was sorry but they would not honor the quoted price because her boss said no. I called the GM explaining that our fridge was broken and because we had a deal menards we did not look elsewhere and we were now without a refrigerator and need to start searching again and that it put us on a bad situation since we were told 1 day delivery.... he didn't care he offered us a warranty plan but still refused to honor the quoted price. Horrible customer service. I took my grandma there to buy a stove. She paid to have the old one hauled away. They never took it, I called this was a Friday. They said can we pick it up Monday. Just to be clear - this review is about an online order, NOT the Sycamore store itself. I gave this review 2 stars because the website is easy to use. I ordered a home water test kit from the online store. After completing my purchase, I took a screenshot of the order number as well as the confirmation saying they would send me an e-mail shortly which had tracking info, billing info, etc. I never received the e-mail and my card was never charged for the product. I waited about a week until I wrote to customer service telling them what had happened. That was 12 days ago (I also screenshot a confirmation that my customer service request was sent successfully) and I still have not heard back from anyone. I am very displeased with customer service and have no intention of further purchasing anything from Menards. Lowe's has this same test kit and I have had good experiences while shopping there. read more

If I could I would put negative stars. Wanted to buy a floor model that they have had in stock for months and would not even discuss price. Then I asked about installation and they stated they did not do it nor did they have a contractor that they could recommend. Finally it came to delivery and the price for delivery was 1/4 of the price of the dishwasher only into the garage door! Seriously...Then to top it off they quoted me $79 and as we went to buy it the price was raised to $124 with a statement that new pricing went into effect on 1/1. Ok so why did the person in appliances not know this. Manager finally met with us and was smug and did not care if we were to ever come back to the store. Your Customer Service Department is due for training on customer service. I was having my vehicle serviced next door to the Sycamore Menards so I walked on over and did some shopping. We have shopped Menards regularly for all our household (2 new homes built) and farm needs. I checked out at 15:26:09 with my purchased. I asked the checkout clerk if it would be okay if I left my cart so I could walk over and get my vehicle. She had told me it would be okay but I should leave the cart at the service desk. I asked the service desk clerk if I could leave my cart and she said 'no problem'. She told me 'don't forget to come back and pick up as some people have forgotten to return'. She told me it would be okay to leave the cart by the racks in front of her. I picked up my vehicle and returned to the store to pickup my merchandise. To my surprise it was NOT THERE. It was treated as returned merchandise and return to the shelves. Now my smaller items were in a tied plastic bag on top of potting soil. What? There was a young man in charge at the service desk who had no apology and told me they weren't a 'storage place'.. This was said AFTER I told him that I was told it was okay to leave my cart. If I was told I couldn't, I would have pushed my cart next door and unloaded. I requested my purchase be refunded to me as per my receipt. TIme of my return receipt 15:26:09! 20 minutes!!!! Do you realize Lowes is right down the road? Between Lowes and Farm & Fleet, I'm sure will meet our purchase needs. Learn customer care and courtesy! read more
