Friendly service, but the food wasn't as great and I expected with all these amazing reviews. I ordered a carnitas burrito which was a little dry and lacking in flavor. The meat was cooked well and not fatty, so that is a plus. I also ordered a zucchini flower taco. I love stuffed zucchini flowers and thought this taco would be delicious. Again, it didn't have much flavor and the zucchini flower was very tough. I didn't finish it. We chose to dine in and they did not have their a/c on in June. It was hot in the restaurant. Ahhhhhhh so good! Sucks to find such an amazing place right when you're about to leave an area. I would eat here weekly if I could. Or more. They are delicious and affordable - win win. I recommend getting a huarache with their al pastor. It's huge and could probably feed two people, but it's so amazing that I've definitely finished one by myself. Their gorditas are also super delicious. I've had their cecina, al pastor, carnitas, asada, and mushroom in either their gorditas, tacos, huaraches, or quesadilla. Update: Finally- they are getting my order right all the time! I'm so glad because I come here a few times a week. The Tinga recipe is AMAZING which is why I come back so often. They use good quality chicken in their recipe which really matters! Never and fat or grisly pieces. The girl that works at night is SO friendly and remembers my order which is nice. Yikes. Not a big fan of the steak meat they use or how they cook it. It was like steak meat grounded up and very hard with burnt marks like they let it just sit on grill all day then just warm it up when they need to use. The gordita shell I wasn't a fan off, the shell was thin and wasn't flavorful. Now for the things I did enough. The plain cheese quesadilla was huge and it appeared they used homemade tortilla shell which tasted great. The tinga meat I got for my gordita tasted great as well. Located at the end of the strip mall facing Lake Street, you can typically find parking here as long as it doesn't conflict with the weekend mornings of the breakfast place at the other end. There's barely 6 tables here and we went to the front as the staff was busy in the kitchen. We told them we wanted to eat in so they told us to find a table and they brought out the menus quickly. We asked for recommendations from the server and she advised that the huaraches are popular along with the quesadillas and durango burrito - meat, mayo, avocado then rolled up and grilled. Her favorite on the menu is the carne asada quesadilla - which my wife selected while I went with the gordita al pastor and huarache with chorizo and potatoes. They don't serve tap water here so if you want something to drink, you'll have to select something from the cooler. They brought out freshly fried tortilla chips along with fresh made pico de gallo and 3 types of salsas, which were all very tasty. There was one that was creamy and orange colored, along with a salsa verde, and their red salsa was definitely charred. Our food came out pretty quickly. The quesadillas are on large corn tortillas that are quite oblong and heavily filled with carne asada and cheese. The gordita was quite stuffed with pastor that wasn't salty but marinated well. The huarache is topped with shredded lettuce and cotija cheese and the long tortilla is covered with refried beans and then topped with one of their various meat or veggie choices. Loved this little place nestled in the corner by Millie's Pancakes on Lake Street & Mill Rd!! My coworker took me here and I'm so glad she did! She ordered the chicken tacos and I decided to try their signature Gordita - chorizo con papas. Delish!! Can't wait to go back and try one of the others. I also wanted a tamale and after the server checked with the kitchen for our choices she came back and said they had red chicken, green chicken (both spicy), pineapple and strawberry. I've never heard of a pineapple or strawberry tamale! I ordered the green chicken tamale and my coworker ordered the pineapple. The green chicken was soooo good and spicy! And my coworker liked the pineapple. I'll try one of those the next time. Overall I really enjoyed the food here and will definitely be going back - especially for their $1 Taco Tuesday!! So my boyfriend and I ended up getting something that wasn't on the menu which were the birria taco displayed on a picture near the register. Thinking they were actual birria tacos. I was disappointed with the service and food. They have signs everywhere advertising their specials. We ordered based on the quesadilla special. When the bill arrived the prices didn't match the special pricing. I was told that since I didn't mention it at the time of ordering that I was looking to take advantage of the special. Confusing to say the least. Now to the food. Quesadillas are very tasty and very big. We ordered the nachos but those were easily the worst nachos I have ever eaten. This place is UNREAL, please don't let the strip mall look fool you. The food here is incredibly good. The owners son was there and his dedication to greet tasing food is evident he's very passionate about cooking. They have crazy specials most days including dollar tacos on Tuesday and 2.50 Durango's on Monday. A Durango is a rolled up slice of heaven. I may have had 4 cuz ya know they are that good. Also as a bonus they are currently on Groupon plus for 30% back so great deals to be had. Will absolutely be back as we went twice the week we found it and will have many more crazy good meals here. This a great discovery. Especially if you are vegan/vegetarian; this place has not very common options for you. I've never had "huitlacoche" tacos before, so after finding out this place served them, I was curious to try. To my surprise, they also had "flor de calabaza" (pumpkin flower) and "nopal" (cactus) tacos. I tried them all and loved them! The tacos were big and were stuffed more than usual at other restaurants which is a great plus on top of being delicious. The guacamole was also delicious and very homemade tasting unlike most restaurants. The service was good too. I have it 5 stars because this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. read more

I am not one to write reviews, but I had to for Don cocos! I have been there multiple times on taco Tuesday for the $1 steak and chicken tacos special. Every time I go for tacos I usually order al pastor I never order steak tacos I tend to find them bland for my particular palate. Although a bit disappointed that al pastor wasn't included in the special I gave the steak a shot along with chicken and they were both amazing best tacos I've tried in addison yet. Both were flavorful and consisted of whole pieces of protein no shredded or cheap scraps, they were clean tasting no greasy fatty piece and no nerves. They don't skimp out on the meat and you get the big tortillas not the baby ones. Down to the little things: the salsas were tasty, and the limes were fresh and had lots of juice. Try this place you won't be disappointed!!! Take into consideration there's 8 taco places total within a mile radius and 6 of them less than a block away. Everything we ordered was delicious. I got chicken and chorizo quesadillas for my son and they had a unique crunchy texture. I also got the chorizo soaps dinner and the sopa was huge. My husband got the steak burrito wrap and it was also huge. Plus they gave us three different sauces, one of which we think was a habanero sauce (orange) which my husband just loved. Nothing is ever spicy enough for him and he said it was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. The green sauce was odd though. We were expecting it to be tomatillo because of the color but it just tasted funky. Everything else was great. Their guacamole was very unique and one of the best I have ever had. Very good food. Sopes are big I had the carne asada. The Tinga quesadilla was delicious. They have many types of salsas their all good depending on what your eating my favorite the habanero.
